Most Unprofessional Company Ever

1 star.... I would give less if I could.

Originally they were supposed to collect my things at around 5pm. Then with very little warning or consideration they demanded they turn up at 8am that day instead. In the end I had to get my 80yr parents to go over and be present in time for them to pick everything up.

Seeing as they acted with such urgency I assumed things must be in place to get my goods over to Germany in the next day or two.
No I was greatly mistaken. They had my goods for SIX weeks. The first reply I received said rather bluntly 'we have two weeks to deliver'

A stressful two weeks go by and nothing happens. I contact them. The reply was my stuff will be leaving the next week.

It didn't. More stress. Van trouble I was informed. A few more emails with no clear time they were coming.
Then the following week I was relieved to hear my stuff is leaving at midnight.

They arrived a few days later. Some Romanian in a filthy van. When he opened the rear of the van I was in shock. It looked like the scrap man had filled it. Things thrown all over. Nothing strapped. A big canvas is ruined. Almost all my pictures frames containing glass were smashed. One of the the frame was in four pieces. My solid walnut bookcase was covered in scratches and chips.

And of course missing items, and going from previous reviews I can pretty much give up on seeing any of them again.

I did contact Wilson Removals with photos (its shame I cant upload them on here). No response.

SCAM - Strong Warning Against Using Wilson Removals

We hired Wilson Removals for our relocation from London to Lisbon, and it turned into a nightmare. Half of our belongings, including our TV, bed, and all our clothes, never arrived. Initially, Wilson Removals lured us in with what appeared to be reasonable rates, only to overcharge us by weight. It became evident that the weight estimates they provided for each item were artificially high, presumably designed to inflate the cost.

The ordeal did not end there. When we sought explanations and assistance regarding our missing items, Wilson Removals strung us along for months with empty promises. They continuously assured us that they would call back with information or send updates which never materialized. Two months have now passed, and our possessions are still missing.

Moreover, the positive reviews on their website appear suspicious and potentially fabricated. Given our experience and the lack of transparency and accountability from Wilson Removals, I strongly advise against using this company. They seem to operate by misleading customers and possibly engaging in deceitful practices. Avoid them if you don’t want to risk losing your entire livelihood.

Worst experience ever

As with all the previous reviews ( wish I'd read them before booking!), my experience, too was a nightmare. A very small and simple move was done by 2 non English speakers, who said they arrived in UK less than a week ago!!!),with no experience in removals at all. A move which should have been less than 5 hours took 7.5 I'm exhausted and traumatized by this experience - The damage and lack of care to my belongings and my new home has made me so upset.

Shocking

Confirm most reviews- delivery was late with lots of damage.Subcontracted out to others until no one knows who is responsible for what. When goods arrived they looked as if they had been thrown into the tatty old van.Paid for 2 men & a full move arrived with just the driver! Lie upon lie when communicating with “office” which seems to be run from home if kids voices are anything to go by.Still chasing to get them to forward insurance forms to insurers. Don’t touch them with a barge pole.

Avoid

We hired this removal company Wilson removals. We thought it was a fair price, £2500 for a move to Spain.

So here's the story.

He took our deposit, and then five days before we was about to set off, they asked us to pay the full amount. We declined, and they accepted a partial. They turned up with a van, and the van doesn't have any type of professional name on it's just a basic fan. They loaded our stuff and took it down towards Dover. They then called us that evening saying that he was overweight and we had to pay another £1800. As you can see, I was pretty mortified.

However, there's nothing we could have done because they said they gave us a 1200 kilo limit; they knew full well we'd go over, but they wanted the job.

They quote you a low price, so they get the job. They don't answer you call only email you to call you back with a withheld number answer.

I would avoid this company if will be the most stressful four days of your life.

Disastrous experience

Moving house, and country, to Ireland, is a very stressful time and Wilson's made it worse. Their communication was minimal, once we had paid the deposit, in advance of the move and while our goods were in storage.
They charged us an additional £2700, 40% of the total price, because our goods were 'overweight'. They had calculated our weight to volume ratio incorrectly and underquoted us but I didn't realise this until afterwards because all discussions had been about volume. Penalties for being overweight were not in the TandCs. However as they had our belongings in storage we felt that they were being held ransom and we had no choice but to pay.
They did not provide a delivery team in Ireland, just a driver even though 2 men were booked, so my husband and I had to help move everything into the house so that it wasn't broken or damaged. This included a piano which we had paid extra to have moved properly. I don't know how we weren't injured or it didn't crash to the ground during this fiasco.
They did not complete the Customs paperwork in advance so our belongings were seized by Customs and held for 3 days until my husband drove the 7 hour round trip and sorted it out.
The person handling our move didn't answer my calls throughout these very stressful days. Davey, at Wilson's answered the phone but I feel that he is a reassuring front for a very bad organisation and service. During the quotation process he answered all of my questions well and promptly but once I had paid the deposit, communication slowed to the minimal.
This was a living nightmare and I really hope that no other family goes through a similar experience.
They are not registered with The Furniture and Home Improvement Ombudsman. I am in the process of reporting them to the trading standards authority.
Don't use Wilson's Removal London.

Deposit not returned

I booked Wilson removals , however after the initial price it became uncompetitive when I insisted that the weight limit that they applied would not be sufficient. Note they charge you after collection of your property and if it’s not correct additional charges will be applied and at that point they have your property!!!!!

I paid an initial deposit of £150 and was told it would be refunded due to the changes in their quotation ( which ‘more than doubled the initial price)

I chased the refund a number of times and was informed it had been refunded , however it NEVER appeared in my account, they insisted it had been made, I asked for prove of transfer/payment- that’s when all communication ceased

After leaving a review on trustpilot I was contacted by Davey and a full refund has now been received . However this took nearly 4 months to resolve.
I cannot comment on their delivery services, however we did complete our move successfully with a large reputable company and it included storage for 8 weeks and the total price was 30% cheaper saving us Approx £1100

Can only agree with Carol Taylor

Can only agree with Carol Taylor. I had an almost similar experience although the person I've been talking to wasn't Emma but Davey.

I've hired an international removal with this company in July. None of my furniture arrived undamaged and until it arrived, there was a literal odyssey of phone calls and mails about the delivery with them basically withholding my contact details from their own driver, so he was lost for three days in a foreign country.

My experience with their lack of will to handle my compensation claim is identical with Carol's, so I must assume it's a scheme. It took them almost two months until they at least sent me the insurance papers. However, calling said insurance, I got told that no claim has been reported at all. Will have to take the legal way now, too. Spare yourself this horror and choose a reputable company instead.

And just for accuracy, they work together with a Simpson Removals LTD as their subcontractor. Be aware.

Avoid like the plague. This is not a legitimate business

If I could give this company minus stars I would! Avoid these cowboys at all costs. We hired them for our removal. They damaged our items and our property and are now refusing to pay for damages in fact they are completely ignoring our calls and emails and we are having to take legal action against them. I’m writing this review to warn everyone just how awful this company is. It isn’t a legitimate business. Their website is under the name of Wilson uk removals or Wilson’s removals international services. Full of fake reviews from google and trustpilot. Check the reviews out. They don’t exist on trustpilot or Google. I wish we had. They are very anti English (we’re all weak and lazy according to these) and they found it hilarious when they damaged our property. The lady who will deal with you at first is English named only as “Emma” she will lie to you and tell you she’ll call you on the day to ensure everything is ok. She charged us for 2 large lorries and 4 people. We actually got 1 large van I medium sized van, 2 men and one woman. You’ll never hear from Emma again once she has your booking and deposit. No matter how many messages for emails you send. They won’t unload your items unless you pay in full even when you can see damage and they won’t discuss it with you but tell you to write to their complaints team for reimbursement. We tried about 5 times to call “Emma” on the day but our calls just go to a gif gaff voicemail service. This is when you then get ignored and blocked. We should have called the police but moving is stressful enough without the hassle of dealing with this. We are now having to resort to legal action and we can’t stress enough to avoid this company like the plague.
