Choose a different bank immediately!

I opened an account online with Regions on July 4th, expecting to receive a card within a week or so, as has been my experience with all the banks I’ve used. Throughout the process, I was asked if I wanted to receive a card for this account and how I would like to receive it. This led me to believe that the card would be sent automatically.

Yesterday, July 24th, I finally chatted with someone because I had a direct deposit scheduled for today, the 25th. Only then was I informed that I needed to make a deposit FIRST before they would even mail a card. I spoke with Tasha E., who informed me of this policy very rudely. I ended the chat and decided to call to confirm this. The representative I spoke with confirmed it. I said okay and hung up. I thought to myself that once the funds were deposited, I could simply transfer them to another account I have with a different bank.

However, that did not happen. I logged in and attempted both an internal transfer and a transfer through Zelle. I received a message stating that I needed a checking account (even though there were funds in both my checking and savings accounts with Regions) to be able to transfer funds. So, I decided to chat with them again. Michelle M. told me to wait until 6 a.m. CT today, the 25th, to transfer the funds. Two hours past that time, I was still unable to transfer the funds.

I called customer service again and was told that I needed my card and a signature, and that my card should arrive within 5-10 business days. I explained my situation, and the representative transferred me to "customer relations," only to be told that the only way to receive my funds is by going into a local branch. This is because they are only just now "setting up" my account and now there is a 48-hour hold on my funds.

This has been the worst banking experience I've ever had. I also bank with Chase and Citi, and I received my cards from both institutions within a few days. The processes for both were done online, regardless of whether a deposit was required or not. This is a significant inconvenience. As many have said here, please choose another bank. DO NOT waste your time with Regions.

*Update: I called the local branch to confirm if I would be able to withdraw my funds today before making the trip. I was told I’d still need to fill out a form. It is called a Signature Card. Once I fill this out, a ticket will be open and worked. This could take 24 hours. Only then will I be able to withdraw or transfer my own funds out of this account.

Please choose another bank. I will be closing both accounts with Regions ASAP!

I have been with re well over a decadegions Bank from well…

I have been with regions Bank from well over a decade. I checked my account while ago and noticed that there was a unauthorized charge on my account. I called and talked to regions customer service as well as their fraud department. They said they could not help me because I couldn't give them a password that I had no idea existed. Never heard of it before. No one ever told me I needed one before. I never told them I password that I want. So as a result of that I could not access my account and I could not stop the unauthorized charge from happening. How is that customer service? Oh sure I'll go down to the branch tomorrow and figure this stuff out but to tell me that you can't stop an unauthorized charge on my account! There's no way it can happen? How is that customer service? You guys suck!

This is the absolute WORST bank I have EVER dealt with. There has been problem after problem. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere. I'm taking my business's banking elsewhere. Along with my husband’s personal account come Monday.

I usually do not do bad reviews but my experience with Regions Bank the past 11 days need to be told. I made a bill payment June 26 for 1000.00 and another 1000.00 was sent again I called and they said they could do nothing until it posted so I called the next day disputed the transaction was led to believe it was in motion. For 11 days I have been on the phone for hours on hold lied to with misinformation and conveniently disconnected. Out of 9 people I only talked to 3 people that I felt like was trying to help me. I also found out some of them were working from home dogs barking and put on speaker while they were walking around. A complaint supposedly I put in with no acknowledgment and found out Saturday nothing had been done to get my money back and no one can tell me how this happened. I retired from Regions Bank and it was a wonderful company but the customer service are so unqualified you can’t rely on if they know what they are doing now. It has been 11 days with no response from the complaint department told they would contact me 24-48 hours another untruth.
I hope no one experience this situation when the money could have made a difference in putting food on the table.

The worst Regions Bank Lakeland

The worst - trying to close an account of a deceased relative - they have the will - they see we have gone thru probate (small because it’s less than 40k) - still unable to close the acct- just a run around - now saying we have to open an estate acct with them of course and slowly close it - dealing with Regions 😡

Regions Bank is by far one of the worst banks I have ever dealt with. If they have fraudulent charges on my account and going through the whole process. They still felt the need to charge me an overdraft fee, even when the fraudulent charges are under review. I believe this is very poor business, bottom line is bank is all about the bottom line and how they can get money out of the pocket of their customers. I will be going to a Regions Bank branch and closing this account today. Like I said this is the poorest banking establishment I have Ever had the displeasure Of banking with.

If I could leave -10 stars I would

If I could leave -10 stars I would. Worst bank I’ve ever had. I deposited a check on November 2023 which cleared in my account, but Regions thought it was fraud. I told them it’s not, but now my account has been FROZEN going on 10 months. I’ve been to countless branches, the branch managers are useless, they say a ticket is open and I’ll get a call or email back and NOTHING. I have been harassing everyone for an answer and still NOTHING. I want my money, this is ridiculous

Basically stole money from me, just said sorry!!

I have a fiancee who is living in another country and send periodic Western Union deposits to her. Normally I do these transactions at Walmart service desk but with a holiday the next day I expected a longer wait in line. With a Regions bank closer I decided to go there when I saw they also perform these transactions. Since it was still through Western Union, I only anticipated maybe a higher service charge. But where they got me was on a $1000 transfer the exchange rate was $130 less than what she would have received through same transaction from the same money transfer company at Walmart. Exchange rate had not even been shown to me and is so different than ours you need a calculator to convert. All the bank representative said was that is the way it is, sorry you were unhappy with our service. Unhappy..he'll yes I feel money was stolen from my fiancee.

Banking with Regions

I’ve been banking with Regions for 7 years. Kept a positive account and put thousands of dollars in that bank. After going through some financial burden after losing my daughter I started incurring overdraft fees bcuz I had pending charges and needed to pay my bills. After getting my account back in good standings I fell short of funds again and incurred more overdraft fees. Called the bank to ask if they could waive those fees bcuz I’ve always made sure my account was back in good standing. Apparently my loyalty to that bank didn’t matter bcuz they told me they couldn’t waive the $72 overdraft fees for the same transactions. Closing my account. They don’t care about anything but your money and how they’re going to make money off of it.

wiring money and not confidential

when i went to wire money to someone in Canada the rep was with me for an hour and after i left she called my husband's number to get information that she forgot to ask me. she told my husband the reason why she was calling instead of keeping the transaction privy to just me. This is unacceptable and no word on what, if ANYTHING, was done to rectify the situation. I'm sure the rep still works there. Privacy breached!

This bank is horrible they stole my money. I filed a dispute against a company that did not give me product that I had paid for. I sent regions Bank all the information they requested and they still would not help me. So basically regions feels it's fine to give my money to somebody for something I never received and their customer service is horrible it takes forever to speak to a human and then when you do they lie to you about what they're going to do. I truly regret banking with them and as soon as I'm able to I will definitely be switching banks because they do not deserve my money or a good person like me to be a customer of theirs. I tell everybody please do not choose this bank they lie to you they cheat you and they steal from you and they do not protect their consumers

Seniors beware of Regions Bank

I have a line of credit w/BOA for 25 yrs & used it a few times - there is no balance.
I had 4 Accts w/Regions (chg, 2 svgs, & a Visa). Lady talked me into another line of credit 6 mos ago. I decided to use in March 2024- got a cashiers ck For $10,000.00. I paid $7,000.00 back in two weeks & the remainder in the following week. All paid before due date. I was charged $43!!! I asked why & was told that was the fee! I could have taken out of my svgs acct or used my BOA acct & not been chgd a fee!
Why would I GIVE Regions $43, when I could have used my own money (like I did in the past)?????
What a rip off. Seniors beware of this bank.

If zero stars were available I would…

If zero stars were available I would pick that! I have been a customer since before Regions took over and it was Amsouth. In other words, way too long!!! After 20 plus years they do not recognize me as a customer. Maybe because they can't keep employees... My account was overdrawn today because the same check was run through TWICE. Did Regions catch this mistake? Of course not. That would require someone actually doing their job. I was informed that I had until 8:00 pm to fix my account and bring it out of the negative. I used my time and gas to go to the bank to alert them to the problem. Are the going to fix this mistake by 8:00 pm this evening? Of course not! They have days to correct their incompetence. They expect more from the customers than do they do of themselves as a business. You can bank with them your whole life and they do not know or care who you are. Don't waste your time dealing with these incompetent nincampoops. A credit union is the way to go. Believe me when I say there is ABSOLUTELY a reason why they have so many one star reviews!!! Terrible bank with terrible customer service!
