Update- my application was reviewed and I received a full refund. Definitely a lot more difficult than it should have been, but glad I managed to get the refund.

Really disappointed with the company! I was unable to attend a concert, I provided a medical certificate- which I obtained before the concert. It was not detailed enough so I was asked to provide more information on my medical condition or a detailed medical certificate. I emailed letters from the hospital for appointment dates and confirmation that I am on surgery waitlist- it was still not enough evidence so I went back to my GP, paid another drs fee and got a very detailed medical certificate stating the exact medical condition, the date of onset and that it is still ongoing and that I was not able to attend the concert- I have been told this still isn’t enough- because the new medical certificate is 4 days after the event- the refund team told me I needed to get a detailed certificate, I have done of what is requested- I have requested my application to go to a senior /team leader and hopefully they review and approve- I will update my review once I have a response.

Refundable.me operates less like a protection service and more like a sophisticated barrier between you and your money. My experience with a hotel booking refund revealed a deliberate "attrition strategy": they don't outright deny you; they simply trap you in an infinite loop of "incomplete documentation" requests.
No matter how ironclad your evidence - medical or otherwise - the goalposts are constantly moved with zero logical justification. They rely on the hope that you’ll eventually value your time more than your refund and just give up.
The Bottom Line: This isn't just a poor service; it’s a predatory middleman. If you see a booking platform using Refundable.me for "protection," consider it a red flag for the platform itself. You are paying a premium for an illusion of security that vanishes the moment you actually need it.

We were going to our annual oyster roast, but unfortunately I tested + for covid with a home test just before the event. I tried to give our tickets to family and friends, but it was too last minute. I wasn't too worried since I had paid the insurance on the tickets. I was wrong. I notified Refundable me on 1/9/2026 about what happened, and have not received anything since. No customer service phone # seems convenient, when you have no notion to provide any. It seems I am being penalized for doing a home test, not going out in public to get an "official" test, and my Dr office being unable to get me in. Believe me that I would have rather been eating oysters instead of having Covid. This company is terrible.

Requested a refund as daughter’s employer moved her and she couldn’t attend a concert. They refused the refund even though it is under the acceptable reasons for a refund. Great money maker for this company. Complete waste of money. Don’t waste your money. They keep moving the goal post for the refund and you never get one.

I paid extra for 'Refundable' protection to avoid exactly this kind of stress, but this company is a complete joke. My wife is ill, and despite providing every single document requested—from both the hospital and her GP—they continue to send me in circles. They are now demanding information that isn't even in their own Terms and Conditions just to avoid paying out. I shouldn't have to justify a legitimate medical emergency this many times when I specifically purchased 'hassle-free' cancellation. Avoid them at all costs; they take your money for 'protection' and then make the claim process impossible during your most difficult moments.

I am getting the run around, trying to get a refund. Due to a death in my family. And they are asking for a Death Cert. And proof of relationship. These guys are a disgusting joke.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
Refundable.me has caused me and my partner extreme distress in attempting to obtain a refund for an upcoming overseas trip. My father recently started to decline significantly in health and has sustained 2 falls just weeks before our trip, rendering it COMPLETELY inappropriate for us to travel as his care needs have increased.
We booked our tickets and purchased the additional "refundable" coverage in August 2025 and his health deteriorated in Jan-Feb 2026. This was in NO way a foreseeable event. Refundable.me were completely unhelpful, even when we offered to provide documentation from the hospital that my father had been discharged from. We then asked if they could assist with connecting us to the airline or other supports to escalate this. They were completely unhelpful and immediately closed the case.
Please please PLEASE avoid refundable.me and any travel agents that use refundable.me as a third-party. I wish I had seen these reviews prior to booking as I would have known to go elsewhere to purchase my tickets/wouldn't have bothered to pay the extra scam "refundable"option.

1 star is too generous. If I could, I would give negative 1000. Booked refundable booking for X Factor Live Shows but we are sick. Our refund was immediately refused. Waste of money. Do not bother booking with them.

They would never refund your amount and would ask 100s of question even if your reasons are genuine or legitimate they would at ladt do a partial refund.

This company is a complete scam. Do not ever buy their add-ons. Their “refundable” protection is completely misleading. I requested a refund due to termination of employment, and they’re requiring documentation proving I worked there over 2 years and my contract. While I understand verifying employment, I don’t see why the length of time should matter, it feels like an excuse not to refund you. They create excessive loopholes to qualify for a refund. You will never get your money back.

When I needed to cancel a Hilton hotel reservation, they sent me a form to fill out with specific questions, all of which I answered. The next day I received an email asking for some of the same and then even more information. My daughter was sick and we couldn't travel, but they would not accept her pediatrician's official letter written on official letterhead. They kept asking more and more questions, which my child's doctor let me know crossed into breaking HIPAA privacy laws. Total scam. This company is paid to protect the companies who pay them by denying refunds to customers.
UPDATE: In response to Refundable.me’s response below, I will add that illness was included in one of the terms and conditions allowing for a refund. We provided them with an official letter from my daughter‘s pediatrician, specifically saying that she could not travel due to illness. This was still not good enough for them for some obscure and made up reason. Their cookie-cutter reply below is obviously just for show, so others reading it will believe that I am asking for a refund for some reason that falls outside of their requirements, which it does not. Also, the email reply that I received was signed from “Sarah,” no phone number, no customer service number, nothing any company that doesn’t have that sort of information, especially once you get to an actual person, is clearly hiding behind a general email because they know they are a morally corrupt company.

Don’t bother paying extra for any type of covering of your holiday if it’s through refundable - you basically won’t get your money back.
So many crazy terms conditions and “gotchas” book ANYWHERE else even if it costs extra but don’t use these guys, barely have any contact, the amount of evidence etc. they ask for during distressing times is insane and always looking for loopholes to basically not give you your money.

This is ridiculous I submitted a claim and uploaded incorrect document in error. They advised me to resubmit correct documents which I did but upon receipt
Of the correct documents the denied my claim immediately saying it didn’t coincide with the correct time period.

I purchased a ticket for a comedy event at the Motorpoint Arena - Nottingham, 160 miles away + hotel cost. As the comedian is popular it was the only place I could get.
I found a ticket for Oxford, only 15 miles away. So attempted to cancel my ticket through these cowboys and was refused with this response 'We know mistakes can happen when making bookings. Unfortunately, the terms don’t cover tickets purchased for the wrong date.'
Now the battle begins with this appalling company, who take your money and refuse to pay you back. If you check out their form for cancellation it's one of the most obstructive forms on the planet.
Refundable.me are not to be trusted and will use any excuse to not pay you back. Dodgy as anything and don't take out their service.

After writing a very negative review, they decided to refund me only €350 out of the 1140€ i paid for the ticket purely as a “gesture of goodwill”,i was hoping they would at least increase the refund to €500.
I honestly thought they would help me, but they did not.
€350 out of €1,140 is a complete scam.
I do not recommend this company to anyone, especially because they will do everything possible to make it seem like your justification does not fall under their terms and conditions, even if you provide all the required evidence, including documents, appointment confirmations, and other proof.
I am extremely dissatisfied. Avoid this “company” if you don’t want to waste your money.
Given the extremely high number of negative reviews, there are serious reasons to question how this company operates. At the very least, its practices should be carefully reviewed by the appropriate authorities to verify whether they are fair and transparent. Based on my experience, customers should be cautious before spending their money with this company.

If you are booking travel through Aunt Betty (a Flight Centre brand), please be extremely cautious about the "Refundable" upgrade. While it’s marketed as peace of mind, my recent experience during a serious medical family issue has been awful.
My father-in-law was diagnosed with terminal cancer. The progression was so rapid we moved to end-of-life care almost immediately, making our planned travel impossible.
Despite purchasing the "Refundable" option, the claims process felt designed to make me give up.
• The Initial Rejection: They initially denied my claim, baselessly citing a "pre-existing condition."
• The Burden of Proof: Even after providing extensive medical documentation, I had to secure a certified statement from his doctor explicitly debunking their "pre-existing" claim.
• The Outcome: Only after I pushed back with professional persistence did they finally accept the claim and issue the refund.
What You Need to Know
1. Read the Fine Print: This isn't a "no questions asked" refund. It is a third-party service with strict, often rigid, T&Cs.
2. Persistence is Key: They may use automated-style responses to wear you down. If your claim is valid, do not take "no" for an answer.
3. The Corporate Web: Refundable.me is linked to Aunt Betty, which is owned by Flight Centre. It feels like a layered system designed to distance the main brand from the poor experience of the claims process.
Final Advice: If you can, book directly with airlines or use reputable travel insurance. If you do use this service, keep every document and be prepared for a fight.

I wish I could give them 0/10 I complained and received a follow up call, so initially i was impressed as a guy called Christoper offered to refund me 50% of the hotel bill, I asked if they woudl contact the hotel to see if they would also pay some and was told that he would escalete this for me. I received an email sayign that it was taking longer than expected...then .....guess what...NOTHING... I emailed him a week after his email and have heard NOTHING SINCE

I purchased refund protection as an add on when entering a marathon, specifically because I have a long term health condition (Rheumatoid Arthritis).
When I later needed to withdraw on health grounds, my claim was rejected despite providing medical evidence.
The claim was declined because I could not provide a medical certificate confirming I would be unfit to run on the exact event date several months in advance. I have made the decision early as my training has been interrupted and I am trying to be sensible - I don't want to be a medical emergency or hurt myself because of a lack of training.
For a marathon, and for chronic fluctuating conditions managed within the NHS, this is not realistic.
I do not understand why this product is marketed as a refund option for marathon entries when it is so difficult to access in genuine health related circumstances.

I bought protection for my flight to us. Unfortunately at the border CBP officer return me back to Canada. I applied for refund and they refused to refound my flight ticket. They stated that a refund is just valid for events that are "not foreseeable at the time of Booking." As a visa-exempt Canadian citizen, it was entirely unforeseeable that CBP would obstruct my entry.

Very bad to deal with , I was due to attend an event and diagnosed with Covid clearly unable to physically see a doctor but have an online video call and medical note and my claim turned down as I tested positive on the day of the event . Don’t bother paying extra for insurance
