Just got banned. No idea why. No message. Says "See your inbox" but there's nothing there. Keeps telling me to update my password. Did that twice. Made no difference. Baffling and annoying.

This website has turned into a left-wing echo chamber. You'll find many clearly misleading posts with thousands of upvotes. Politics shows up in almost every subreddit, with moderators banning anyone who holds a different opinion and locking posts to prevent criticism. You'll get downvoted simply for not agreeing with the majority. Many users on this site are ignorant. I've used many social media platforms, and this might be the worst. If you're looking for a biased, toxic platform that pushes a left-wing agenda, then Reddit is for you.

My Reddit account got perma banned out of nowhere. I had my account for 7 years without any problems at all until recently. Apparently the reasoning it says my other accounts had violated multiple reddit rules, but the thing is I haven't even been on those accounts in such a long time. When I checked them out I didn't see anything wrong or any warnings.... I feel like this was a false ban and I can't get in contact with a person about this to investigate. I use my account for my hobbies and get some suggestions on about products. I sometimes dabble in important topics to voice my opinion as well but I would never break a rule I know to follow.

Besides that there isn't any transparency with what the actual rule was in the first place. I don't know what to do at this point besides keep sending in a messages to see if I eventually will get in contact with someone. As others mentioned it might not be possible and they are stubborn to undo a ban at all. All I want to know is what rule did I break and get to the bottom of this but it's impossible when they don't even give you a response of any kind in return.

Reddit literally shadowbanned me for experiencing bugs. The post I made on r/bugs even got deleted, so I’m posting it here:
“I recently got shadowbanned due to these bugs (in order):

(Major issue) My (Under 18 Toggled) account got NSFW content labeled as “Popular on Reddit”
(Major issue) Tried to report but all values got rolled to “None” somehow
(Not a bug) Got banned for false reporting
I suspect that this post won’t even show up for most of you, but Reddit, if you’re reading this, please fix these.”

This is a literal COPPA violation if I’ve ever seen one. I would sue if I wasn’t comically broke. Stay very far away.

I had a Reddit account for over a year with no problems while mainly browsing. I earned a few small achievements and stayed within the rules. Once I started commenting occasionally, I suddenly received 1–2 temporary bans without any clear reason. The messages I got were vague and gave no real explanation other than that I had somehow violated site rules.

Eventually, without warning, my account was permanently banned. I submitted an appeal, hoping for clarification or a second chance, but received a denial the very same day — again, with no specific reason given. It was a generic response that left no room for discussion or understanding.

The lack of transparency and fairness in how Reddit handles bans is incredibly frustrating. There is no accountability or clear process for users who genuinely try to follow the rules but get punished anyway. I had put time and effort into engaging with the community in good faith, and it was wiped out instantly with no explanation.

This experience has completely ruined Reddit for me. I have no plans to return unless their admin team becomes more transparent, consistent, and fair with how they moderate and communicate. If you value free speech, fairness, and a sense of community, be cautious. You can lose everything without warning — and without recourse. I don't remember the exact date it happened so I'm putting in a date i think is the closest to it

If I could give a 0 star to this site I would. First of all, we cannot say much negative or even tell our experience because this site 'moderator' will quickly send a message with all their stupid guidelines that nobody cares about and delete your post so what's the point if the expat community can't even share their stories and feelings. What a waste of time. Sad but we don't live in a democracy in Portugal appartently, just positive comments are accepted.

Horrible and toxic site where if you don't agree with the masses you get dumped on and if a mod disagrees with you, they can abuse their powers to ban you from subreddits.

Oh, and if you dare to ask for any clarification on any bans or warnings then you get completely banned for "harassment".

Probably one of the worst toxic forum sites though most forums sites are garbage tbh. Reddit is pretty much a echo chamber where they just repeat whats popular to get likes or whatever they use. One probably the worst site when it comes to herd thinking.

Obviously not all subreddits are bad its usually the mainstream ones that are toxic and suck the more niche ones are pretty good.

Most people on reddit think their really smart and a genius they have this snobby vibe about them. Most people on reddit are really toxic also probably one of the worst websites for toxic stuff.

I don't use reddit anymore unless its a niche gaming subreddit cuz those are often pretty decent.

So overall like most websites are companies its pretty garbage. It used to be alot better but since the internet keeps getting worse reddit got worse also.

My account got banned for no reason (they said it was for "security" to keep the platform safe) because I posted a link to an opensource project on GitHub " AvaloniaVisualBasic6" (their AI filter is bad).

they asked me I need reset the password to unlock the account and after I did what they ask for I got welcomed with a ban message lol, like why ask me to rest of you are going to ban?
support team seems not exit and useless AF, I appealed the ban for 1.5 month and I didn't get any respond.

yet somehow this website full of 18+ and cringe stuff like roleplay to random people that you don't know (lol imagine being that bad?) but I get banned bc I posted a github and I'm small user does not worthy to look, but somehow, they say "reddit is place for all people" lol

also, be aware some mods see your post history and ban you if he doesn't like your opinion in other subreddit, the funny they don't own Thos subreddits and another points there AI users act as legit users, but they are dis-honest ADS writing fake story you find them a lot when the post ask if xyz product is good.

no wonder why this website is down with revenue because no one like a website 50% 18+material, 30% AI and memes, repost then 10% problematic content and 10% actual content, the funny you can see somehow straight 18+ in old non-nsfw subreddit bc users post there for 20+ min video support while in nsfw subreddits they have lower perks.

I doubt the website has future, I just made my account bc google was direct me to there but thx we have AI no longer need to surf on reddit.

Reddit arbitrarily & dishonestly "manages" subs &, therefore, content, with moron mods who have myriad personal issues, no standards, no intelligence, no experience, & often a monetary or corporate stake in slanting a sub's info (dog advice, cat advice, evernote, etc.), which makes these so-called mods' motivation, or any action taken, all about their pathetic feeling of power. Reddit is a shadow-banning joke, no better than Trump & his people -- just 1 big, fat destructive lie. I've come to 100% distrust it.

Reddit has shown itself to be completely unreliable and abusive in how it handles user accounts. I was permanently banned without a single warning, explanation, or even a chance to respond. No rules were broken, no notice was given — just an instant ban out of nowhere.

What’s worse? I was the creator and sole moderator of a subreddit with over 250,000 active members. Years of work, community building, content curation — all gone in a second. Now the subreddit is abandoned with no mods and no way for me to access it.

This isn’t just careless. It’s disrespectful, authoritarian, and downright disgraceful. The fact that Reddit can destroy communities and silence users without accountability is terrifying.

There is zero transparency, zero due process, and zero respect for the users who built this platform in the first place. If you're investing your time and energy into Reddit — don't. It can all disappear overnight for no reason, and you'll be treated like trash.

Reddit doesn't care about its users. Plain and simple.

Got suspended first time I posted. I could post the same thing on any other site with no problem but these people must get a kick out of suspending someone for very little reason. Their rules are too strict and not easy to follow.

Its horrible. They don't give "newbies" enough time to learn to to navigate so your banned or suspend. It's also just alot of nonsense garbage people giving ridiculous answers and stupid jokes. THEY should be the ones banned!

My account was suspended for no reason. I didn't get a reply after several attempts to contact you for more than 10 days. Please check my appeals, username "stingadoge". I will change my review when my issue is resolved.

Reddit is to be avoided at all costs. They do not allow freedom of speech. They do not allow you to delete your account. When I tried to ask them for help deleting my account their staff were sarcastic and deleted my messages. They are beyond disgraceful.

Platform that openly banishes and blocks ANY kind of free speech, opinions that don’t suit them and in general telling the truth, account gets immediately blocked if you speak your mind. I got banned for saying that the iphone 15 pro makes better pictures than the 16 pro, that got me BANNED FOR 7 DAYS! This kindergarden is so insanely ridiculous, i spit on that app.

It may take months, it may take years, but mark my words: using reddit will make you mentally ill.

I was recently banned because I talked about how the school system isnt failing migrants, but the other way around, because schools dont have the job to educate children about manners. Thats the parents job.

The moderation team allows ALL hate, bigotry, insults from the left and blocks everything done towards them. Its just another biased controlling left wing propaganda machine. They are a part of the problem.
