For the past three months, I have been woken up before 7am every Monday morning by Recorra and another glass recycler. This time Recorra outdid themselves. Smashing glass in a residential area at 5.20am!!! I have sent photos to Brighton and Hove Council. -5 stars.

It’s been weeks that our cafe has had to have trash outside the shop, uncollected until midday and sometimes not at all.
It’s the worst company we have ever had to deal with. The most frustrating thing is that we get charged if we have nothing to collect but they will take no responsibility for picking up late or not picking up at all. AVOID.

1 star as it is not possible to write zero stars. Horrendous experience consistently. Terrible customer service, never collecting correct bins, no response when contacted about it. No compensation. No continuity and awful awful service. DO NOT sign contract with this company. Has caused so much stress wish we’d never started with them.

I have now been with Recorra for 11 months and none of that time has been easy. Initially, both my recycling bin and general waste were being thrown into the back of the same truck. Not only was I paying for 2 separate collections, but obviously I questioned whether my recycling was actually being recycled as intended or not. This saga carried on for some time (customer services were unhelpful) before I spoke to the sales rep (Richard Hine) who thankfully took control and raised the issue. It was discovered there was no recycling collection in my area (!) so we swapped two bins for one general waste. Not an ideal solution but saved me paying for the hire and collection of two bins instead of one. A short period of regular collections without problems then came to a stop when the driver seemingly refused to come and collect my general waste bin. I was fobbed off by customer services again and again, with excuses of 'I hadn't put my bin out', 'the lorry has broke down', or 'they couldn't find my bin'. All this time, I was of course being charged for the collections (as they do so in advance) and hire of the bin. Once again I resorted to speaking to Richard, who came again to the rescue and raised my case. The driver, I am told, was moved on, and thankfully I am back to regular collections (touch wood). However, I cannot get a response regarding being charged for a service I was not receiving, even though I was promised a month free. Their contract alleviates them of any responsibility for their failings, so I find myself stuck with them for the remaining period.
