Not real productive

Seems like it should be helpful, but I have not got any type of actual lead in the 2 years of subscribing. All my resellers are from my own personal contact with them.

I am a cactus nursery in Florida with…

I am a cactus nursery in Florida with innovative products. I have a free profile on Rangeme but this is one big spring trap into which I'm not going to put my credit card or foot. I'm sure that purchasing agents love the convenience, screening and new degree of separation from legions of eager entrepreneurs. But to the hardworking vendor, it appears to be an exploitative commoditization engine extracting an exorbitant $300 for a chaperoned video chat with the potential buyer and no guarantee of a connection, and the $1200/year "verified" membership is insane. I much prefer an open door like my grandfather had as a salesman to this electronic commodity shelf, where one could suit up, hit the streets, pump flesh and have a real chance to persuade a buyer in person - you know....personality, enthusiasm, congeniality, expertise, actual physical samples and confidence earned. And big box stores are flocking to this while closing their doors to me.

I've talked with them, and twice I turned the table on their business model by proposing that THEY front the risk by agreeing to a commission on that big wholesale transaction I'm looking for, if they can make it happen. I never received a response. This makes me think there is more money to be made in fleecing producers in America than there is for the producer successfully selling their wares to big box stores.

I see just another small crew of what are probably Ivy league graduates trying to be the next PayPal or GigMasters by inserting themselves as middlemen to extract unjustified rents off the backs of entrepreneurs already hobbled by inflation, DEI preference and billionaires sucking all of the wealth and agency out of an economy that was far better 20 years ago.

Improvement Needed

We have been a RangeMe member for five years. In that time we have been invited to only one meeting despite completing questionnaires for 50-60 opportunities. I also spent a year as a RangeMe Premium member and during that year we were invited to zero meetings. We are also a minority owned company, African American to be specific. And although not only RangeMe but also many retailers claim to be looking for minority suppliers to purchase consumer goods from, we have not received even one lead or sale related to our NMSDC qualified status. Accordingly, I suggest that RangeMe management review its policies in order to better serve the communities it claims to serve.

RangeMe/ECRM is PRICELESS!!!!!

They listen! They also have been super supportive in helping to classify listings correctly, best practices, and always reach out if there is a category buyer that is relevant to us as well as always responding to questions. We would not be where we are today without RangeMe. That is a fact I know for certain.

A sham

A sham. Received zero actionable leads. It's like going to a trade show but you cannot interact with attendees and they aren't wearing badges, as you're standing behind a 2 way mirror. They are annonymous. RangeMe presents 'opportunities' and stats that can never be verified - many are probably fake to gin up interest in this platform. Or the *same* business looks at your product multiple times a day for weeks but you told Mr Pillow 'no thank you' to their inquiry but they keep looking and driving up your 'stats'. It would not be difficult to claim that ABC Co or XYZ Inc looked at your products if you never have to say who it actually was, or give their contact information. Actually, business names are truncated which further makes this opaque and murky at best. Paying to be on this platform and you are blind to *any and all* contact information about business that purportedly reviewed your company or products. Utter waste of marketing money, going to yet another tech bro scam, and anyone thinking it'll be grreat - you've been warned.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on your experience with RangeMe. We’re sorry to hear it didn’t meet your expectations, and we value your feedback.

We understand the challenges of not directly interacting with businesses evaluating your products. The anonymity on our platform is intended to streamline discovery and foster genuine interest without the pressure of immediate engagement. This helps protect buyer privacy and encourages authentic exploration of new products.

Your concerns about the verification of opportunities and the transparency of interactions are important to us. We are dedicated to providing real leads and meaningful exposure, and we are continuously improving the visibility and validation of buyer engagement on RangeMe.

Despite your experience, we wanted to highlight that your products captured the attention of a prominent natural grocery chain, which invited you to discuss potential opportunities, but unfortunately this meeting was declined. This interest highlights the value of your offerings and could have led to beneficial outcomes. We hope you’ll consider future chances to connect with interested buyers through RangeMe.

Rangeme Ripped Me Off…

I joined Rangme and after approaching a few retailers for my pot pie Rangme set up a meeting with HyVee providing I give Rangeme 300.00 which I did. I did have a meeting with HyVee but it was with a buyer for frozen pizzas not Pot Pies. It was a total waste of money and me time , I tried to contact Rangeme to get a refund but there is absolutely noone to contact. To make matters worse they tried to charge me another year membership on autorenewal whIch I did not know they had me on but I was able to cancel that with my credit card company. I feel totaly ripped off for 399.00 . They are taking advantage of small startup food companies shocking huh?

We understand your frustration and appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. We strive to provide a positive and transparent experience for all our customers.

We offer a variety of plans tailored to different needs. Our Free plan is quite basic, with limited functionality. Our $99 starter package is designed to provide an accessible entry point, while the Premium and Pro plans offer expanded features and greater levels of brand exposure. This allows you to choose the plan that best fits your business goals and budget.

Not helpful, just a rip off

They forgot to tell you the personal costs you need to make upfront to get into the retail shops. $100 starter package then upsell via emails and phone calls with Steven. Next $1400 pro to contact retailers. Then some retailers you must agree to pay $500 upfront to rangeme to start the application. You need more money to attend the network events with more sellers than retailers. If you manage to get a retailer interested, have your advertising budget ready. Many retailers don't buy samples which can be 100's. Some retailers ask you to change packaging at your costs. It is a very costly way to get into retail, but you have no choice because the global retailers insist on using them (see retailers websites).

We appreciate your feedback and understand the concerns you've raised about the costs involved in entering the retail market.

We’d like to clarify a few points to provide a fuller picture:

Upfront Costs: We offer a variety of plans tailored to different needs. The $99 starter package is designed to provide an accessible entry point, while the Premium and Pro plans offer expanded features and greater levels of brand exposure. This allows you to choose the plan that best fits your business goals and budget.

Additional Costs: We acknowledge that there are costs associated with advancing through the retail process, such as application fees for certain retailers or the expenses for packaging changes requested by retailers. These costs can vary based on the requirements of individual retailers and the specific market dynamics. Our aim is to be transparent about these potential expenses and to provide support throughout your journey. When considering a more traditional approach, the brands incur all the costs of meeting with retailers which typically include sending samples and traveling to retailer headquarters.

Retailer Requirements: Each retailer has unique criteria and processes for product sourcing. RangeMe facilitates the introduction but the final terms and requirements are set by the retailers. This might include sample requests or packaging changes to meet their standards.

Advertising and Samples: Marketing and sample costs are indeed part of doing business within the retail industry. We strive to help brands navigate these challenges by offering guidance and resources to optimize your presentations and meet retailer expectations.

We’re continuously working to refine our services and make the process as cost-effective and straightforward as possible for our users. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve. If you have specific concerns or need further assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team.

Range Me is a Waste of Time

Range Me is a Waste of Time. I can't believe that I wasted so much time and energy perfecting my catalog(s) on this platform over the past 6 years.
Using the "free" option, in over 2 years, one brand received 24 views while the other received less than a dozen.
4 years ago, I paid the premium service for one year. I received a lot of inquiries and requests for products, but I didn't do my homework. I sent out dozens of samples at my own expense to these "companies" to just take them and lose products, not follow through, and some were not even real companies. I wasted hundreds of dollars on sample kits thinking they were potential buyers only to find out that many were just assuming the appearance of a successful business and others had collected samples for the large companies to review, and then failed to get the samples into the proper hands for a review.
RangeMe makes you pay a huge price for premium, but on the buyer side, they don't do any checks to see if the companies are legit, and they don't care that they request samples and don't even get them into the hands of reviewers.
Now I'm told that my company is not going to show up anymore unless I pay $95. "Free" profiles will be limited to one brand and up to 3 products. What a joke.

We are sorry to hear about your experience and we truly value your perspective, as it helps us improve our services.

We’d like to address the concerns you’ve mentioned:

Views and Exposure: We understand that the free plan may not provide the exposure you're seeking. It is designed to offer a basic level of exposure, and many users find the premium plans more effective for reaching a wider audience (which it seems to have accomplished while you had a Premium subscription). We constantly strive to enhance our search functionality for buyers while maximizing exposure for brands, and your input will help us refine these efforts.

Sample Management: We regret to hear about the challenges you faced with sample requests. While we do have a process to verify each retailer and buyer that signs up for RangeMe, we acknowledge that ensuring all inquiries lead to genuine opportunities is a complex issue. Your feedback will help us enhance these measures.

Changes to Free Profiles: We recently updated our policies to streamline our platform and focus on providing more tailored support. While the Free option remains available, it is now limited to one brand and up to three products. This change aims to enhance the quality of connections and ensure that active and engaged brands get the attention they deserve. We apologize if this has caused frustration and are here to help you understand how these changes might impact your strategy.

Incessant emails and phone calls

Incessant emails and phone calls. Multiple unsubscribe attempts that didn't work. Multiple direct requests to stop emailing me. All emails contained high pressure sales tactics. Terrible customer service when asking for account to be deleted, in a bid to get the emails and phone calls to stop. They claimed they had never emailed me. Product is pretty worthless unless you pay the enormous fee (you can't apply for any opportunities) they ask for and they even claim that the free version isn't going to work for your brand. Weird experience all around and definitely not worth the harassment.

Terrible and disrespectful management

None of the people I've talked to had any solutions to my problems! The employees failed to provide me answers, but the worst part is the terrible and incompetent management. The manager I talked to was extremely rude and disrespectful, yet they were unable to help me at all! At least the employees were nice despite their failure to resolve my inquiry.
