Takes a bit of getting used to but once you’ve linked your bank account or uploaded a csv file it’s just a question of allocating transactions. If you’re familiar with bookkeeping you can do the year... See more

I highly recommend QuickFile - give it a go!
As a sole-trader freelancer, most of the accounting software I’ve tried (QuickBooks, Zoho Books, Freshbooks, Xero, FreeAgent) is too complicated for what I need. And lots are very expensive for sole traders because you end up paying for features you don’t need. I tried QuickFile and never looked back. I regularly recommend it to lots of freelance and self-employed contacts.
There’s a small annual fee to automatically sync with your bank account (which is really helpful) but everything else is free.
I found it really easy to import all my data from other accounts and my own spreadsheets too.
Once you get things set up it’s self-serving and easy to use. They leave you to it, as it's 'intuitive' but there are online guides and customer service forums. Whenever I’ve had problems the customer service has been excellent, and the community support is very useful.
From what I can tell it still does more complicated stuff if you need more sophisticated bookkeeping but you can just use what you need, instead of getting caught it loads of complexity.
It's less slick and snazzy than other software out there, but I kind of like it.
I highly recommend QuickFile. And urge freelancers, sole-traders and small businesses to give it a go!
Its easy to fo my invoicing
Brilliant Software Package
I found the software easy to us with so really useful reporting tools. It's easy to record income and spend under my chosen spend. One a customer or supplier has been recorded, their deatils pull through next time saving time and effort. A great product at a very reasonable price.
Great easy to use system
Great easy to use system, clear client communication trail would be a helpful within their profile
Small Business, I tried and compared many options - settle with QuickFile
I have spent a long time comparing various accounting packages that suit my needs. I am a small sole trader, and any monthly savings put money into my pocket on a month by month basis.
The main features I was needing were to be compatible with MTD and VAT, recurring billing, and a price point that reflects the size of my business - and not how much can be squeezed from me.
A few elements needed getting used to, more official accounting procedures than I had been used to, and their naming conventions. All went pretty well, with only a couple of references to the documentation.
The interface is very minimal and mostly keeps out of your way. You have some customisable options but mostly I have used it as is. VAT returns were a breeze.
So far everything has been fine, no major issues, and I feel ready for MTD.
The main downfall of small business accounts - the business owner keeping them up to date. That bit was not fixed - but certainly made a lot easier.
Very impressed and no complaints so far.
Relatively simple and straight forward…
Relatively simple and straight forward to use. Would be 5 stars if it was easier to print off complete ledger reports which our accountants wanted to see - but I couldnt find a way of doing this.

Great software and Great Value, Easy to use
This software was recommended to me by my accountant due to tax going digital. It was very easy to set up and very intuitive to use. Receipts are simply photographed on your phone and uploaded to the software against the expense. There are also a myriad of reporting features to help understand how your business is doing and can be exported easily so your accountant can produce and submit your tax return. Its so easy to use, I'm very impressed.
Straight-forward software
Good software for keeping accounts.
Straight-forward to use and lots of ‘how to’ help online if you’re stuck.
Really appreciate a decent, functional platform that’s free to use for micro business!
Fantastic free package for small business
We recently reduced our business and now only work a few weeks of the year. We didn't want to have to pay for invoicing software, but also with making tax digital knew we couldn't go back to a spreadsheet. Quickfile gave us the perfect option as we are under the free usage limit, but we still have all the functionality of a book keeping software. Super easy to use and when our business increases again we will definitely upgrade to the full version.
Overall a positive experience
Overall, I was satisfied with the service. The process was more organized and smoother than I expected. Communication was generally prompt, and my questions were answered clearly and professionally. The quality of the product/service was good and offered fair value for the price.
Good freebie and easy to self teach
Easy to self teach how to use the program. Once the right buttons to press were found its straightforward. Could make the bank reconciliation better if not importing entries. IE enter opening balance (or program copies it from previous reconciliation) then enter closing balance and tick entries. On the whole a good little freebie given the cost of other programs.
It's been great on the basic package…
It's been great on the basic package for my own accounts as they are basic (not vat registered or mtd)
Possibly need some training if was to need some more functionality or indepth accounts
Only thing would change is the bank rec. Once a month is reconciled would just like to lock it and start new with the next month so it's easier to find missing transactions
QuickFile has been invaluable for my business
QuickFile has been invaluable whilst setting up and running my business. It's been very easy to use, cost-effective and keeps everything running smoothly with all the features I'd expect from accounting software. If I have a question I can always find the information quickly via their support forums or knowledge-base. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for simple, cost-effective and feature rich software.
Easy to use and good functionality even…
Easy to use and good functionality even in the free version.
