Request for a spare part for the DAM…

Request for a spare part for the DAM winch (rear brake).
The winch (rear brake) broke just after the warranty period. Considerable reluctance. I wrote twice. After 10 months the answer came, "there is nothing they can do..." (Tim Hakkert, Aftersales Benelux, Pure Fishing Netherlands, Breda)
Spare parts/service 0%, environmental protection 0%, brand promotion 0%.
They didn't even offer me another solution. They didn't write back again .

Pure Fishing parts & service

I've used Pure Fishing to source parts and service Greys fly reels on a number of occasions and found their service to be absolutely first rate. Most recently spoke with Iain Whiteley in customer services and had my QRS reel repaired, fully serviced and returned to me within 10 days all for just £15. I think this is incredible value and highly recommend them.

These guys are obviously a scam

These guys are obviously a scam. I just saw a charge on my credit card for them and have no clue who they are and what they supposedly do. I wrote them an email and called them to ask for clarification. I was put on endless hold only to finally hear a recording to leave a message. I will report their charge as fraud

Put through to Heather

Put through to Heather, awful experience, please retrain Heather on everything to do with customer service.
Bought a faulty Greys stalker 9’ rod with a loose reel seat, can’t get past Heather to chat with anyone else, she stated nothing wrong with the rod reel seat even after video of the defect was sent. If you get through to Heather expect a problem…

Terrible service ,wanted a new bearing…
Terrible service ,wanted a new bearing for a Greys gts900 reel so emailed pure fishing parts.

Received a curt one line reply not available in stock and not even a suggestion about helping to source one .
It is not as if the the reel was that old.

Greys fishing gear wil certainly not be at the top of my list in future.

Go for any other make not owned by Pure

The warranty is not worth the paper…

The warranty is not worth the paper it’s written on, the warranty page doesn’t exist the phone number given just rings off, I finally get through on a different number and you just get excuses, was told they don’t manufacture my rod anymore so I need to send the broken rod back to them at my cost, then get the chance to purchase another rod at a much higher price with a bit of discount! Thanks but I’ll go elsewhere staying away from all your other brands too

Terrible experience

First of all, there is no shipment detail, I.e. weight/color on the shipment email confirmation. You can’t check the accuracy of the order. Second, the email on the order confirmation is invalid. I tried several times to send an email and each one was returned as invalid destination. There is no one answering the phones and phone mail is not returned. On top of that, when I finally received the order, they shipped the wrong color of the lures I ordered. Additionally, there was no packing list accompanying the order. All is all, I am very disappointed in Pure Fishing and won’t use them in the future

Berkley FireLine…a waste of my money

I purchased a roll of Berkley FireLine Thermally Fused Tough line. 6lb--125yd. I was excited to try this after reading the reviews. I set up 2 or three poles for differnt fishing conditions and went fishing. I have nothing but problems with the line coming undone from its own twist. It then becomes useless a It will not wind back on the reel. I would not recommend this to anyone and will not buy or use again.

Purchased a Shakespeare Sigma 9 1/2 ft…

Purchased a Shakespeare Sigma 9 1/2 ft rod and reel combo for fly fishing, I am an angler of 67 years (started at 7) but never fly fished seriously before, so it was a new venture. The rod last section snapped after 2 hours usage when I was just threading line through. Purchased a new top joint (£25) tried it prior to going fishing, second joint just snapped, had the blank examined rubbish weak thin blank was the tackle shop review, Contacted Pure Fishing, not interested at all, no help, wasted over £85 on a rod combo and new tip that is not fit for purpose, into the bin, just writing this so others are not in my situation.

Tried contacting purefishing (UK)

Tried contacting purefishing (UK) on behalf of a french friend who had broken the 3rd section of his Greys fly rod and simply wanted to know if they could supply a replacement.
After 2 emails went unanswered, one month later I tried phoning using a phone number found online. The phone went dead after 2 rings.
Forced to give at least 1 star otherwise it would be no stars!
Extremely disappointing is putting it mildly!

Scummy, Lying Dirtbags

Absolutely the slimiest company I have had the displeasure of attempting to work with whose actions hinge on being criminal. Scott Kamp and Gary Borland work to further their slimy cohorts' companies while doing everything they can to hurt the competition which amounts to them being utter scumbags, plain and simple. If you are looking to do business with a good, honest company that will treat you fairly and not make up lies about you to get rid of you and harm your company, avoid Pure Fishing at all costs.

Extremely poor

Writing this review on behalf of my Dad. He sent a reel to them which he had bought as a teenager to see if they could fix it. The reel was sent to them recorded delivery and signed for. They told my Dad that they didn't do repairs and that they would send the reel on to someone who did and they would be in touch. After hearing no more about this, my Dad phoned to enquire as to what was happening. Pure Fishing then had the cheek to say they had never received the reel despite previously saying they would forward the reel on. Pretty disgusted by this company for their lack of care and losing a cherished fishing reel and then denying all knowledge of it.
