Research & Buyer Beware

I didn't do any research on scam pitfalls. The website's content looks legit. I ordered & was instructed via text message to send money for my purchase via Zelle (red flag).

Two days later the so-called courier service texted me asking for a "refundable" $300 payment for shipping insurance. I knew then it was a scam.

I emailed the vendor/website asking why its courier is asking ME for insurance money (it is a vendor's responsibility). I got a response asking me if I asked the courier that question. That's it. No other follow up by the vendor. My "order" shows "on hold" on the website.
