The only problem there was communication, it's somewhat difficult to contact them and get a reply by email.
But besides that I'm very satisfied with my product and looking forward to purchase more from them.

I had used this service to purchase some limited availability garage kit figures at the recent Wonder Festival event. The prices and process were laid out well in advance, so I knew what I was getting myself into and was able to prepare appropriately.

Communication was also good overall. I had some questions, and these were given thoughtful response to allay my concerns.

For in-person events like this, obtaining the desired product is never guaranteed, but it worked out well this time. I requested 3 kits, and this service was able to get all of them. The kits were shipped to me and arrived one week following the event.

I had the opportunity to work with Proxy last month to secure a number of limited items at WonderFest. Throughout the process they were very communicative, were open to my questions, and flexible as I wanted to update my order list. Easily the best experience I could have asked for and they shipped the items with 3 days of the event.

I ordered many boxed with Proximité Japon and everytime i am delighted, the owner is sweet, communicative, understanding and he know his stuff guys!!! I used to order on thoses website for figures and candy, i gotta admit. I never fully feel satisfied with the price vs what received but with Proximité Japon, it never happens. I know what i'm getting is truly what i ordered and i even received some little goodies and he also do surprise boxes! You should definitely trust him, he worth it!

I made a special request for a figure with a bonus head. I got told that the figure is new and sealed. After waiting 3 months I received it on December 23rd. To my surprise, the figure has already been opened. The bonus head was inside the box (it usually comes separate) and the tape on the box and on the figure itself has been cut. There was hairs and dust on the tape and the box arrived damaged. There was also grey paint on the figure’s hand indicating it has been displayed, as it leans up against a grey wall.

I wrote an email on that same day, as I only have 15 days to report a problem. I’m aware that he was entering a busy holiday season, so I waited 10 working days for his reply. By now, I still haven’t received an answer, hence why I can’t give a good review on this purchase (#1190).

Pros:
- Arrived within the estimated time (3-4 months by boat)
- No extra taxes

Cons:
- Very minimal packaging: only a thin bubble wrap around the figure
- Condition: no guarantee that all items are as described. Was promised a new and sealed figure but received an opened/used.
- Communication: at first he was quick to respond (usually within hours), but after purchase I encountered a problem. There exist two versions - a compatible vs non-compatible with bonus head. I asked if it’s possible for him to check the JAN code and send pictures. After 5 days I received a reply that it fits - but no picture was provided. I asked for pictures again, but received no reply other than an auto generated shipping invoice.
- No aftersale help: no reply to my inquiry and therefore no compensation (eg. 10% refund, store credit, coupon etc.).

In conclusion, it wasn’t the best experience. Paying for a new and sealed figure, whilst receiving an open/used one is disappointing. I wouldn’t have anything against a used figure, as long as the price corresponds. I will keep the figure, as I’ve waited so long for it, and sending it back at my own expense will be way too expensive.

I went to Japan directly for a Trip, then I remembered seeing his services around. Proximity Japan offers to find an item or multiples for you to take back home hassle free. He also does shipping and cares about how much you’ll pay. He offered me to go the cheaper route and the quickest and more expensive one. I decided to just pay extra for luggage since I was there directly, saved me extra pennies.

They answered me within minutes of contacting them, making my dream of owning two anime figures I’ve always wanted a reality. He’s also a very nice guy to chat with. I think we stood there and talked for a good 20 minutes!

I’d recommend using them if you ever needed anything from Japan; regardless if you go on a trip there or not. :)

Update: A few days after writing my review, my package arrived! Everything was in good condition and he even sent me some snacks , thank you very much!
