Purchased the Gold Chip plan to ensure I had put everything in place if ever my beautiful pup goes missing. Unfortunately I paid twice rather than once. I quickly messaged Protected pet, and the same day, I received an email asking me to confirm what date the duplicated purchase had been made and was assured the management team would get on with refunding this back onto my card. Within an hour or 2 of me confirming the information, the refund had been processed. Fantastic, efficient service. Polite, and friendly responses. Thankyou to all the team!

Only giving 1 star because no option for zero. I contacted Protected Pet to check that they had my details. They said they hadn’t, although we are the only owners of our dog snd asked for £30 to register. I ignored the request and since then they have bombarded me with text messages and emails saying that someone else is trying to register my pet - feels like scare mongering at its finest!! I don’t understand why these companies exist when you have already paid to have your pet chipped.

Excellent Customer Service
Asked Protected Pet to change the mobile telephone number on my account. It was done within the hour!
Excellent customer service in a world where that can be difficult & frustrating to achieve, so thank you Protected Pet.
Terrible
If I could leave zero stars for this company, I would! I didn't actually sign up to them but my rescue dog's chip was already in their database and I was not permitted to move it. I have tried to add my new details but the website sent me round and round in circles and then told me that I could only buy the most expensive plan because my chip wasn't eligible for the lower priced plans (no explanation given as to why). I then contacted customer services who agreed to let me join the cheaper plan, but they failed to send me the forms so I had to remind them. After finally getting the firm's and returning them, I ask for confirmation that my details were all in and I get no reply. I then get a text several days later saying that I'M failing to answer their emails and am breaking the law! Worst service ever. I take my pets safety very seriously and have had a nightmare of a time trying to get the simplest thing done with this company. Awful.

Great company and very efficient customer service
Great company with good customer service!
Needed to switch my dogs microchips over from the breeder, this was a very quick process. I took the form from their website and scanned it over to them via email. They were changed over within a few hours of sending the form. Very fast response time would completely recommend. I had no issues despite reading bad reviews, people should leave more good reviews; most people only go on to write a bad review nowadays!
5 stars in my experience!

Very upset and worried
I RESCUED A DOG FROM OVERSEAS WHOS CHIP APPEARED TO BE THROUGH THIS COMPANY
SHE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE TRANSFERED WITHIN 14 DAYS OF ARRIVAL.
IT IS NOW NEARLY 6 WEEKS .
I CONTACTED THE CO STUART WHO AT FIRST APPEARED TO BE VERY HELPFULL GAVE ME A REDUCED FEE TO PAY AS THEY KNEW THE CHARITY INVOLVED AND TOLD ME TO GET IT E MAILED OVER AND HE WOULD PERSONALLY ENSURE IT WAS DONE WITHIN 2 DAYS.
THIS WAS LAST MONDAY.
I Phoned as did not have a courtesy e mail confirmation of safe receipt. They had asked for all my card details inc cvv .EVENTUALLY HE SAID HE HAD NOT GOT THE E MAIL????
HE DID NOT TELL ME THIS THE FIRST 2 PHONE CALLS.
HE PROMISED ME ORIGINALLY AN E MAIL CONFIRMATION ETC BY CLOSE OF PLAY WEDNESDAY THIS DID NOT HAPPEN AND THEN AGAIN FRIDAY
NOTHING HAS HAPPENED.
SO I STARTED INVESTIGATING FURTHER AND AM APPALLED AT ALL THE ONE STAR REALLY BAD REVIEWS ON various sites.
eg google trust pilot etc
Am now more concerned than ever.
Dodgy company do not seem genuine
So after getting my dog and a strange microchip card saying it belongs to protected pet I went on there website and took a look and read all the reviews on here and was very very concerned.
After paying £16 for a basic account I was told I would get an email confirmation which I didn't. I went off to the vets again for our puppies second jab just to find out none of my details show on the system the vets tried calling protected pet and they would not answer which was even more concerning. When I came home I called them myself to be told 'your details will not show to a vet even if the pet is lost !'
Surely this is the whole reason for a microchip?? Aparantly a vet would have to ring them to gain access to my information and even then they may need a passcode to get my details from them. Angry is an understatement, if I loose my pet the chances of them finding me will be slim and even then I could be fined because people would assume she isn't registered. I would not have chosen this company in the first place and hope this review stops people using them again especially breeders as the owners in the long run will be the ones trying to deal with this.
Impossible to reach even in an urgency!
My pets were (somehow!) registered with them when I arrived from overseas. This was without my knowledge and when I try to reach them to change it, they cannot be reached!
Would give 0 star!
ideally would give a 0 star rating! Very poor service!
The most incompetent company I have ever dealt with, staff are so rude on email and never answer the phone. When you do get a reply on email, it’s never very helpful then takes at least a week to get another reply!
It also took 6 weeks for them to do as i ask, even then it’s done wrong! Utterly useless!
Stay well clear
disgusting someone should regulate companies like this one brought a puppy cant register the microchip website is shocking, cant contact them on anything!!! BREEDERS BEWARE!!! god forbid my puppy ever goes missing
I would give 0 for review
I would give 0 for review. Company is a sham. Took me weeks to transfer my dogs details and paid £24.99 for this.
Months later I went in to check my dogs details. Nothing there!
I have been trying to contact them through email to get this sorted. Just going round in circles can't answer a simple question. where are my pets details!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS?
I just hope my pet never goes missing.
Please never microchip with this company
Unfortunately my puppy was registered with this "company".
The whole thing has been painful from initially registering her to trying to get my address changed recently.
Its truly shocking. If you are thinking about getting a puppy microchipped as a breeder or with a one off litter please don't use these. It just causes issues for the new owners they are a total nightmare
I was unlucky enough to buy a puppy…
I was unlucky enough to buy a puppy registered with this companies microchip.
The website is awful and doesn't load properly and their customer service is useless, don't buy their microchips and register with them, totally hopeless and a waste of money for all.
poor customer service
Registering your pet's microchip with this company is easy, as is payment for it but the customer service is super poor. One cannot change address online, it has to be done through the customer service. Two emails later and no reply at all and the address has of course no been changed on the system. Upon calling them, the call handler informs that address change requests have to be made in writing. If their customer service is this bad when dealing with a simple request for change of address, one wonders how bad it would be if a pet actually goes missing.
