I hired Abdul through Bark.com to lay engineered wooden flooring in my bungalow. He was fully aware that I had a disabled child in the house so we planned to do it in sections as we were living there. On day one he arrived very very late and started rushing. He did not complete the two rooms which were planned to be done that day and these were our bedrooms. He caused a lot of wastage with nearly 15 half cut planks left on day 1. Several joints were not done neatly with good gaps in the rows and he was filling glue in them. He couln't figure out how to cross doors with continuous flooring without any door threshold. He left the rooms incomplete saying he will come early next day and finish them. He asked for part payment on day one which was never agreed. Next day he did not come and was not contactable. All day and the day after I tried calling him and text him several times, but he never answered any calls. He claimed via message that he injured his thumb while playing cricket that night despite that he left at 8 PM from our house. I asked him for some evidence of his injury, which he did not respond to. He didn't return and left our house in a mess for us to manage a disabled 9 year old and a toddler in an unsafe situation. I could not find any installer to pick up from where he left and ultimately I had to finish off the installation myself over several days with my family having to suffer around it as my sons chair could not be moved around and I had to lift and carry him for days till this was finished. I reported this to Bark.com who were completely complacent and did nothing. These are cowboy installers, stay away from them. Not to be trusted at all. What they did to us was criminal.
