Renewal was made more difficult than it should be

I got my renewal quote which was fine, so I clicked the link to accept it on the website but was told it can't be renewed online. I tried a few more times but in the end I needed to do a chat to accept the quote even though I didn't need to make any changes.
After it was accepted, the agent automatically enabled auto renew which I didn't want, so I had to go on the website to turn that off again. I wasn't asked if I wanted it enabling.

Terrible service

I reported a car insurance claim, for an incident that took place on the 17th October. My car was crashed into whilst it was stationary. A straight forward incident. Still hasn't been sorted. Called 8 times in total so far. Terrible service, expected much better thinking it would be a professional company.

Quite disappointed with the Post Office…

Quite disappointed with the Post Office home insurance. Was told last year that I would be contacted before my home insurance was up, but this never happened so go a shock to see that they have taken money out of my account. I received no policy number no renewal papers of any kind. So I in the dark about my policy, number and also the car no longer belongs to me,
This comes from having no customer service ability.

Should be Zero stars

I wish I had read other reviews before buying ! Unfortunately looking on car insurance comparison sites I chose Post office as it’s a well known name - what is joke.
On the day my policy started I was contacted saying I hadn’t disclosed a claim from almost 5y ago. I hadn’t made a claim in total I spent 3.5 hours on the phone calling an old insurer from that time to provide proof I hadn’t ever claimed. I promptly (same day) forwarded this proof. My 12 days to provide proof lapsed - me thinking I had dealt with this but no they charged my account for £61 for having an undeclared claim. After calling up and speaking to an advisor I was told there was a back log of emails so my letter of proof of no claim made hadn’t been dealt with , I believed I was getting the £61 back BUT NO! Two day later a further £37 was taken from my account - I called up, the £61 for not declaring a claim (I didn’t make a claim, I did call my previous insurers about a small bump and didn’t follow through with claim which is all logged) but now they know I didn’t make a claim they’re charging me £37 for not declaring a “loss” ( not a undeclared claim but an accident that wasn’t claimed on) and they refused to refund the £61 so all in all shy of £100 for not declaring a claim - one that was never made.
I told them to cancel the policy - I’ll see if I actually get my refund as their cancellation email doesn’t include the amount of money I was told on the phone.
All in all absolutely awful service

I never made a claim and was being charged almost £100 for the fact I didn’t declare a claim I never made - it clearly states on getting a quote …. Any claims made in the last 5 years
It does not say any queries made to insurers about a potential claim - the lady I spoke to said it does, and that I mustn’t of understood - so I went back and checked and no it doesn’t
I always change insurers every year never in the past 4 years has this happened til now

POst office utter crap!

useless to contact for help

I started home insurance at the beginning of the month , couldn't log in to 3 links with their email to check policy.
Water tank in loft leaked and it took me ages to get through on phone and not much help. Wear and tear for tank and did I want to make claim for anything else , ceilings had holes but found out excess for water damage is more £450 so said would wait for estimate. Just rang customer services it went dead after 10 mins , rang again not much help but would put me through to claims, 5 mins later phone goes dead again. How do they boast 4 star rating? wish I had stayed with Axa.

Appalling car insurance service...

Absolutely appalling car insurance service!...
The worst service we’ve ever encountered. Email after email and now text messages from them, requesting proof of NCD on car insurance. We’ve sent three copies and still we’re getting requests by email and text message. They’ve now advised the car insurance will be cancelled and we have to pay for two weeks insurance plus a cancellation fee of £30! It’s disgraceful service. DON’T USE PO INSURANCE SERVICES! What a shame that one of the most well known British companies has gone so far downhill, from where it used to be!

No option for 0 stars

Would give Post office insurance 0 stars.
Had Home insurance for nearly 3 years with them and no problems, no claims.

Shame that Post office changed how they were doing things without notifying me with the change. They paid my insurance but they passed the payment over to premium credit instead so I paid them now
The issue here is that it's a credit agreement so could effect my credit agreement when looking at house could impact this.

Communication goes quite far. No letters, phone calls or email from post office directly. They said they sent 3 letters only received one through the post.

Received emails from premium credit but thought this was a scam as no direct communication from them.

Cancelled with yourselves (had to pay £35 for this). Would not recommend.

Wish there was a zero star option for Post Office Insurance

Wish there was a zero star option. My advice - avoid. Having spent three days being passed from incompetent pillar to negligent post trying to find out whether the annual charge would have changed I then went with another company. Spent three hours trying to cancel. Messages on website are not transferred apparently and so again, interminable phone calls. Finally received a text saying policy cancelled. End of story? I wish, was debited the full amount of the renewal nevertheless, and have spent the last few days trying to find an attempting to get a refund. Still not sorted. Not for nothing is PO Insurance near the bottom of the WHICH list.
