I have used Post Box Courier a few times now to ship items from the UK to South Africa. The shipping is surprisingly quick, but the thing I find most compelling is their excellent, responsive service on Whatsapp. The fact that I can chat a real human on whatsapp and receive fast, personalised responses is what makes this Freight Forwarder better than any other I have used.

I’ve use Postbox Courier for years and have imported scores of items from the US through them. They provide a great and reliable service. I’d recommend them to anyone.

Very very slow service with lots of hidden costs.It is now 10 days after my parcell was received at the depo in the USA. I have paid for shipping immediately, waited for tax invoice, received it 8 days later and paid. Lots of extra costs included.Makes this very expensive. Still haven't received the parcell and tomorrow the Easter weekend starts. So it will be very long before I receive my item. So we learn.

Don't use this company for shipping items that are valued between R500 and, say, R750. There is a hidden charge of R220 that PostBox Courier takes for kindly handing your customs paperwork. This brings your "customs" charges to more than 50% of the value of the item when you include legitimate government duties. Rather get someone to repackage the item as a gift and avoid being taken for a ride. You may even save on the actual shipping (in the end, my small item, valued at R600, made up only ±35% of the total cost when shipping from the UK to SA).

I discovered PBC several years ago and have been using them to import sought-after items that one can only find overseas. I have never been more satisfied with a company like PBC. Their professionalism is commendable. Their service is outstanding. Their fees are affordable and worth every cent. I've never had to worry about the state in which I would receive my parcel. The moment it lands in SA, it arrives with me the very next day! Their customs clearance is top notch. While COVID has caused a cut down on international flights, and has affected the speed of the deliveries, this is quite understandable which I believe not everybody takes into account. I have never lost a parcel, and it does also seem like their rates have gone down, where other services keep going up! My favourite thing about PBC is that I can group parcels together and have them shipped to me once all of them have arrived. I haven't seen that anywhere else. I received my package in good condition. I only feel like the price was a bit expensive

Bought items in UK and was delivered to my doorstep in South Africa within 7 days without any delays or problems.

After giving up on using ordinary post from the UK to South Africa as it simply didn’t arrive, I discovered PBC. I was sceptical at first as it sounded a bit too good to be true. I need not have worried - one week from the UK post office to my parents door! Fantastic customer support - Micaela was always there to answer questions and reassure me. I will definitely use them again.

I have used Postbox Courier three times this year UK to SA and my mom has now used it from SA to UK. I have to say a huge thank you to Micaela and Greg for the most fantastic serve. They are always there to answer questions, reply to emails and all parcels have been received perfectly intacted. The parcel from SA to the UK took 4days door-to-door. Compared to other couriers their rates are good and we have had no problems with hidden costs such as customs. Will definitely continue to use the service.

I give them a 4 because i received my goods. But just so you know it ain't cheap.

You pay for your goods to be delivered to them.
You pay for them to deliver to your country.
And then you pay customs in your country.

It's alot of money so calculate all of this before placing an order. I ordered some skin products and it ended up costing me ALOT.

Micaela was especially helpful and kind and kept me updated with my order.

Parcel was sent 22 days ago from London to South Africa. Package has not arrived at destination.

EDIT: a day after this review, the package finally arrived in SA safely. Three weeks is a long time for a courier but I understand the delay was with SA Customs, using the current virus hoax as an excuse for the backlog.

Recipient said the guy who delivered was particularly friendly and pleasant to deal with.

It would be great of there was more detailed status information available so that you could properly track the package.
Also, only one method of payment is accepted - Paypal, which many of us refuse to use for ethical reasons. I would use this service far more often if I could pay directly with my card without any involvement from Paypal.

PBC has handled my complex import shipping needs with efficiency, professionalism and courtesy for over 2 years now, Highly recommended!

Used them on about 3 or 4 separate orders so far, and in my experience, they've been utterly superb. Customer Support is always fast (I think they used to be slightly more on the ball but hey) and my orders have always arrived on time.

I only realized how good these guys are once I used MyUS - it was ridiculously expensive, and so much more hassle with lots of hidden subscriptions and fees everywhere. Postbox Courier is simple, no fuss, and while some people here might be complaining about the price, from my experience it's honestly a bargain.

I had 2 separate packages shipped to me and one was delivered completely destroyed and the second was delayed in customs for almost 3 weeks. The destroyed package, I’ve sent numerous pictures and documented evidence that the package was mishandled resulting in a loss of over $600+ of lost merchandise. It’s been 2 months of emailing and I haven’t even been given the courtesy of a reply email since the first one. This company is a joke.

First Rate service. Quick and easy, UK to SA. You guys put the other Couriers especially that German crowd to shame. Well done and keep it up.

My (detailed) experience with Postbox-courier:
I ordered a Google Home Mini from Walmart (Sunday) and an SD card, Kindle PaperWhite and a Kindle Paper White Cover from Amazon (Monday) in the US. A Very handy and distinguishing feature of the PBC service is batching of orders:
1 package to be delivered to Centurion South Africa
L: 35 W:18 H:9 and gross weight of 0.8 and volume weight of 1.134 which results in a courier cost of USD42.19
Customs is something that is value-dependent and out of PBC hands but for completeness: R545
Delivered the next Monday

I ordered a parcel form an online store in the UK to be delivered to South Africa, the parcel got to me with no problem within 5 days, it was well packed and not damaged at all

These guys know what they are doing. For hassle free import/export I can highly recommend them. From dispatch in the USA to arrival at my door was all within 7 business days!
