I thought I was calling DYNO Drains ltd and tried to cancel after realising that I had accidentally called PM247 LTD instead of Dyno Drains (which is a much more reputable company with clear and straight forward pricing)

It was a Bank holiday so I understood that it would be hard to get people out in a timely manner and I had already felt rushed on the telephone as soon as they answered, the prices were not clear and no straight answers were given to me and I felt that the man I spoke to on the other end was totally unprofessional and when I tried to get him to speak to the professional Pimlico Plumber I had on site, he refused saying he needs to speak to the “bill payer” who will be paying the bill. What do I know about drains!? I was surprised, so I placed him in loudspeaker so the Pimlico plumber engineer could relay the necessary info but PM247 Ltd were only interested in speaking to me about payments. They would not give a clear estimate or ball park figure of what I could expect to pay. It all seemed very opaque.

I was desperate for a draining specialist - who I thought was Dtni drains - so I just confirmed the cancellation process in case I changed my mind, was told that if he arrives at my door and knocks before I cancel then I pay the full call out and I said fine.

I then checked the confirmation email and realised the error. It was not DYNO Drains I had been speaking to. I decided to cut my losses and cancel and was totally willing to pay the cancellation fee £75+Vat.

I rang before anyone arrived and I explained I wanted to cancel. The young lady said it would be £75+bat and I said that’s fine and she was about to send me a link.

Then the original man whine I had booked with sounds like a manager he said something in the background and said no it’s going to be the full amount £144 inc vat because the workman “had arrived at my door”.

I disputed their claim and explained that there is no one at my door and it was 14:50 and they said he would be here at 15:00 and I want to cancel. They then changed it and said he is in my car park. I went to the car park and said there is no one in the car park.

I said I can send them a picture of the car park. I said I want to cancel and pay the agreed cancellation fee of £75+vat.

We went back and forth with them claiming he was parking in the car park and then he was at my door none of which were true. I said I am not paying a call out charge since they had simply kept me in the telephone arguing. Eventually ten minutes after I rang the workman arrived. They then said they are sending a payment link and they hung up.

The workman was polite and he said he has nothing to do with it. I understood he was an innocent in this. I told him to come and give his assessment as I may as well get my money worth.

He told me that it was a massive job, which is what I had realised myself and which was why I decided to cancel in the first place.

I rang back as I wanted to settle the amount on a credit card and the lady was so rude when she realised I wanted to pay by credit card and she said it is cash or bank transfer only. What company in 2026 doesn’t accept credit card payments? A scam rogue trader cowboy that’s who. She hung up eventually when I confronted them as a scam because she confirmed the incorrect sort code and account number that was on the payment link.

I eventually paid their call out and I believe I got off lightly and dodged a bullet. Avoid this company at all costs.

PM247 Ltd your standard boilerplate “reply” just reeks of a desperate company that is on its way out and is all out of ideas. You are a scam and in the end scam owners tend to run with the cash and leave the workers carrying the empty bag.

I sent my complaint to your “customer services” dept. Enjoy the read. Lol

I’m not expecting much of anything to come of it but it was quite satisfying knowing that eventually an agent who reads it will think about leaving the company for brighter pastures and leaving the scammy owner in the lurch.

Faizain Saeed sent a reply to my complaint actually admitting that they kept me on the phone in order to scam me out of the full call out charge:

"With regard to your comments about communication, we do not accept that any misleading information was intentionally provided. The updates given to you were based on the engineer’s live status while en route, and the situation progressed to arrival during the course of your call."

This is not a company. They are scammers.

Every negative review on Trustpilot is the same experience I had with them. Initial Quote of £120 + VAT to unclog my kitchen drain. I explained on the initial call that I have had this issue before and a wet vac was required. I was told this is not an issue and the engineer would be able to determine how best to resolve the issue.

After explaining the issue to the engineer, he left my flat for 10 minutes. I then received a call from the office trying to extort me for an additional £455 + VAT on top of the already paid £120 + VAT, as this now required the use of machinery and not just a plunger.

I have asked for the recording of my initial call - which is a requirement to provide personal data the company is known to have under GDPR, governed by Article 15 and this has been refused.

I have asked for a refund as the engineer did not do the work they were contracted to perform.

The person on the phone was EXTREMELY rude, unprofessional, and unsupportive.

I will be pursuing this matter under the necessary channels as it is clearly a pattern and a larger systemic issue that a single one off incident.
