I was very impressed with the process…

I was very impressed with the process from start to finish. Their communication was excellent. Updated me all the way and responded to my emails very promptly. They listen and work with clients unlike some lawyers. Great service

PM LAW just avoid

We’re so I start
To be honest
My four old son could do a better job
Just disappointed after disappointment
First we discussed a completion date but then someone went on annual leave fair play but could of got someone else to cover
•took forever to do the drafts
•then took forever for the completion only two days they gave us go ahead so trying to book removal men was hard
•when actually completed on the day, funds weren’t released until 5pm
We’re they had the money from 3pm so easy to release the funds
Which meant overcharge of 750 pounds to pay the removal men as they were waiting hours
. Final biscuit after three weeks of moving in our new house
They asked for 1,790.20 pounds as they made mistake
(My colleague has informed me that on completion an incorrect balance was remitted to your account from the sale proceeds. Unfortunately this has left is with not enough funds to make your Stamp Duty payment)

And now need to pay 11,500 of stump duty that PM LAW
Made a mistake

When I actually rang up two weeks ago and PM LAW said all fine

So in all I have to pay £2,540.20 out of my own pocket, plus 11,500 of stump duty because one person can’t bloody do simple maths and the stress level is unbelievable as I suffer from high blood pressure
And didn’t need this stress
And I am out of pocket

No refund of 750 pounds as it was there fault or any money back

To be honest avoid with all costs and just use local solicitor as they get back to you

Run Away from anything PM!

I initially instructed PM Law in 2020 after selling my property. Over the past four years, I have faced considerable challenges with leasehold issues stemming from the Grenfell tragedy. These complications led to multiple failed property purchases, each taking months to progress before ultimately falling through. The overall handling of my case has caused significant stress and emotional distress. The prolonged delays, lack of communication, and repeated errors have reinforced the feeling of being overwhelmed and trapped. I have experienced feelings of being penalised simply for owning a leasehold property, and the handling of this matter by PM Law has amplified these sentiments.

Positive Experiences
Some individuals at PM Law provided excellent service:
Joseph Wright, a property lawyer, was consistently reassuring, transparent, and reliable.

Zoie Hill, a senior property lawyer who is no longer with the firm, offered exceptional professionalism, providing regular updates and maintaining clear communication throughout the process.

Negative Experiences!!
Unfortunately, these positive interactions were overshadowed by significant challenges:
Unresponsiveness of Assigned Lawyer
A week before my completion date, my allocated property lawyer became unresponsive to calls and emails. After days of silence, I was informed the lawyer was on annual leave for two weeks, including the completion date, without any prior notice or alternative point of contact.
Escalation to a “Team Leader”
When my case was escalated to the Team leader Michelle, her handling of the situation was dismissive and unsympathetic. She:
Asserted there was no need to inform me of the lawyer’s annual leave.
Failed to address emails sent to the team mailbox during the unresponsive period.
Admitted that important sale documents had been misplaced, requiring re-signing and re-submission, potentially causing delays.
Michelle’s overall approach lacked professionalism. Her communication was curt, and she dismissed my time and commitments.

While there were standout individuals at PM Law who went above and beyond, these contributions were overshadowed by the poor communication, lack of accountability, and unprofessional behaviour from others. The overall experience left me stressed, frustrated, and disheartened.
I would say that PM Law takes steps to address issues, improve communication, and ensure better accountability to prevent similar experiences for other clients but from reading their reviews they sadly don’t learn. Sadly my nightmare continued with weeks delays to get my completion statement and monies owed back.
Surprise Surprise the complaints team also holds the same company values of prolonged delays, lack of communication, and repeated errors.

I would advise to explore ANY other law firm than this one or its co company’s under the PM logo.

Avoid at all costs

This company is absolutely useless, they only had 7 months to sort out a simple house purchase and failed miserably. Trying to contact them is almost impossible, do not answer the telephone and do not reply to emails. Use a local company where you can knock on the door to get important information.

If no stars was an option I would give…

If no stars was an option I would give none. Absolutely useless staff. I had a simple no chain property purchase that was dragged out over 7 months. I was promised calls back after failing to get through to my solicitor and received one inbound call over the entire period. My case only became a priority once my mortgage offer was due to expire and I completed with 1 day to spare.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Not a local solicitors

I thought for the conveyancing of my flat in Maidenhead I would go for a local solicitors that had been recommended. I did not realise at the time they are part of a larger organisation. My case was transferred to their Sheffield office where I could not have had a worse experience. They have no communication skills and are unfit for performing the tasks that they are given. My buyer pulled out of the sale due to the time taken and the difficulty their solicitors had to get any sort of prompt response to their queries.

This organisation is unfit for business…

This organisation is unfit for business in my opinion absolutely amateurs and how did they even get the licence to operate unbelievable waste of time
How much do you value your life
I'd rather be stuck up 2000ft+ in a cable car hanging on one strand of cable in the middle of a war zone with missiles flying everywhere and waiting to be rescued by helicopter running on fumes and pilot is 96% blind and weather is dense fog and -20c I would feel safer than ever doing business again with PML Law Sheffield conveyancing .

Don't do it please go elsewhere anywhere please 🙏

You can’t get through to people I have sent emails to the directors without response you can’t never get through on the phones

Absolute bunch of cowboys- dragged a simple claim out for over 2 Years - stay well away

Absolute bunch of cowboys- My Wife was hit by an Articulated Lorry on the Motorway over 2 Years ago- The Driver & The Drivers Insurance Company admitted Liability- The Police were on the Scene & stated the Lorry driver was to blame- My wife was lucky not to be seriously injured or worse. They sent her to a private doctor twice who to be frank interrogated her & made her feel as if she was guilty. Now how hard can it be to resolve this claim, all laid on a plate for them. it is not about the money my wife has suffered from extreme anxiety since the accident & this lot have made it worse.

Absolutely useless - I just don't know how to express how useless!

Absolutely useless! Take months, swap case handlers constantly, wait for ages for phones to be answered, when you do get through they have a number of 'reasons' to give for thier total incompetence- all of them pathetic.
They ask for the same information time and time again from other Solicitors, often denying they've done this and claiming that it's the other Solicitors fault the sale/purchase not gone through....trust me....the only blame is with them and they know it.
A simple one property/one purchaser/one seller transaction is currently months in process.when they (eventually) declare the file is complete it 'disappears' into Compliance for a minimum of 2 weeks! (That's as long as Compliance don't find anything!)
I can safely say... & I deal with Solicitors every day as a Sales Progressor..... if you choose to use this company after reading all the reviews on this and other sites...then you are risking months and months of terrible service, uncaring attitudes, immense personal stress & (highly likely) the loss of the chain you are involved in due to PM Law's incompetent staff.

Avoid this awful law firm

Avoid this awful law firm, particularly if you're purchasing/selling your property. This firm caused a number of problems with my transaction from start to finish.

The main issue was on completion date. My other solicitor completed the sale of my property early in the morning and sent funds straight to PM Law (Team Speller) as expected.

It took me all day to get in touch with PM Law and it wasn't until late in the afternoon that I found they'd made a complete and utter mess of the transaction. Within the space of one hour, they told me that they'd received too much money, and then they told me that they hadn't received enough money before then telling me that they didn't think they'd received any money before finally confirming that they had actually received the money all along. It took until 4.55pm for them to confirm money had been sent for my purchase. Their complete incompetence to simply send to some money to another solicitor left us in a position where we were told to find a hotel for the weekend as the purchase was unlikely to go through.

If that wasn't bad enough, I spent weeks after chasing them asking for them to confirm the transactions which took place and return any excess funds to me. They've finally confirmed that they've been holding on to extra money from my transaction and said they'd send it to my bank account. Several weeks have passed since then, I've chased them constantly and not had a single response from them since. I'm now left out of pocket and with the only option of raising the complaint directly with the Legal Ombudsman and SRA.

Conveyancing firms tend to get a bad reputation, however I have used several in the past and I can honestly say that this one goes out of it's way to provide the worst possible service it can - wish I'd read the reviews before instructing them as seems like others have had similar experiences - but at least they're consistently bad I suppose...

This review is specifically for Maryam…

This review is specifically for Maryam Azam with reference to Emma Stott.

I would give Maryam Azam more stars if this was an option.

Maryam Azam went above and beyond during my purchase, as a first time buyer I was nervous, stressed and not that knowledgable on the actual process

Maryam was my legal advisor of the team and was always responsive, kept me up to date, provided me with reassurance and kept me sane! In fact at one point I thought Maryam was my solicitor. She truly was amazing!

I know my actual solicitor was off for a period of time being unwell and Maryam pulled out all stops to ensure my purchase went through. In fact the chain had to complete on a certain date, if not a chain collapse looked probable. Maryam ensured this tight deadline was met with the help thereafter Emma stott (thank you Emma) who took over from my original solicitor not being present.

We completed on time!!!!

Thank you Maryam Azam from the bottom of my heart, I hope PM Law appreciates the effort and work you put into your clients transaction as much as I do!

PS - Emma thank you for working overtime on my file.

Avoid at all costs - charlatans.

PM Law are acting for my seller. When I say they are the biggest bunch of charlatans going, I'm being kind.
26 weeks after my offer was accepted, they have just raised further queries with the onward purchase (my seller's purchase). We were due to exchange and complete tomorrow. How did I find out? From my seller's estate agent - they've yet to bother informing my solicitor.
They don't respond to their clients or my solicitors, they lie constantly, take several weeks to respond to anything, and are genuinely just the most appalling firm. Save yourself the heartbreak I'm currently dealing with of your chain being at risk of collapse because of this cowboy firm and go elsewhere. Never again will I participate in a chain where PM Law is involved.

Totally incompetent.

Totally incompetent.. costing buyers, and owners thousands dragging out a relatively straightforward process.. it’s absolutely ridiculous that this company should be allowed to provide a service.
