Stay away from these crooks

Stay away from these crooks! I cancelled my card and was told there is a 60 day holding period to wait for my refund. It has now been 90 days and I just keep getting g different excuses from their customer support every time I inquire about my money!

I do not think this company is even…

I do not think this company is even real. I think they just stole $1000 from me. It is just unbelievable how 30 emails did not produce an answer from any kind of management. I tried to cancel after they lost my ID and personal information, asking for it again on unsecure platforms like their chat bubble and through my personal email at 10:30 on a Sunday night. I saw red flags and seriously after 1 month of no card, no receipt, no additional credit on my credit report, and no access to any kind of "account" through their app. I politely asked to stop the application process and refund me. They asked 8 additional times to "hey why cancel, why not try our service and see what benefits you will get" This after me explicitly, many times, asking to NOT ask me again, to escalate this to management. I had a call from someone who said he was the CEO of this company only to find out he is a team lead. Further when I asked why this was not escalated this is the answer I received "I will not forward this to them because I already know what they will say" Yes, that happened. Does this not negate the purpose of management and escalation? The actual lies and mishandling is very concerning. We will see if I get my money back. I have a feeling they will somehow take it and run. They said I have to wait 60 days and pay a fee. Even though my account was not even created. Equifax was asking me questions about another person when I followed the prompts to get "verified". Really and truly, this feels more like an email or phone oversea scam. I have never felt this way before regarding a Canadian company. I mean I followed Plastk's ad from Credit Karma, right in my own credit report. Something is not right here. There is no accountability.

I wish I could give them a zero.

I wish I could give them a zero.
I was suggested that this company could help build my credit. I was never able to register my card, create a profile or even create a pin code to access my account. Customer service is terrible, if you can actually connect with a person, usually your call will be disconnected after extremely long wait times. Although I could never register my card I have a huge deduction of points on my Equifax report for a $275.00 dollar fee charged by the company. When I googled to see these complaints my heart dropped. Everyone MUST contact the Better Business Bureau and lodge a complaint as this company is a giant scam. After 6 hours of disconnected calls there was no supervisor to help, "I can expect a call in the next few days".

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY;SCAM

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I have been trying to get my deposit back for MONTHS, since my profile has been pending the whole time. They keep saying my card is on the way and it never comes. Now they are saying they are sending it this weekend. I kept asking to just cancel and refund my deposit. They said $5 admin fee. I said go ahead and cancel. Now they are saying $54, for annual fee to an account I could even access. I'm sure they'll come back saying they'll take more money. I'll be shocked if I get any money back, plus they're saying 60 days for money back. Refresh financial has been fantastic. Don't make the same mistake signing up for this scam!!

I don't understand I am not getting my refund but instead I getting charge.so I guess I'll get charge till my available credit is finish and then I won't get my refund.very smart idea.i can't believe I am dealing with this frustration situation just to close my account.it is very easy to open and get charge monthly but to get refund and close account it takes unlimited days.sad

Absolutely horrible

Absolutely horrible. They are scamming me of my refund of $500 and there’s “no phone number” for the department I need to talk to they say. Save your money and go elsewhere. Terrible customer service and a disgraceful company.

I owed 258$ to my bill so on sept29 I sent the full payment through their dpid which is set to auto deposit I recievered verification from my bank that they accepted my money and it went through but they didn't reflect it on my account I called many times only to be left on hold for as long as 4 hours and still no response so then I used internet they first said we didn't recieve your payment.hows that possible it's auto deposit later another agent said we received the transfer but couldn't withdrawl it.thats because you can't withdrawl from a transfer that's all ready deposited they then sent it to banking department with no updates at all I still had 50$ left to my credit limit and go to get a pack of smokes 13$ only to learn they cut my card off so now I'm not only out $300 secured funds I'm also out the payment of 258 plus the 50$ left on limit I have since filed a complaint with the better business bureau in Calgary if anyone who reads this is having the same issue file a complaint with better business bureau in Calgary and give them the worst review online maybe we can stop them from doing this to some one else

They took my money on the 1st of…

They took my money on the 1st of September and every time I contact them, they say my card is in priority process. I feel soo frustrated because I just started a new job and I was hoping to use the card to pay for my gas since I drive 200kms everyday for work. I'm soo sad

Don't trust plastk, they will take your money

I went and got a rental car on my card. I paid the $215 for the car, and a $500 deposit. That was in August. I've been waiting for plastk to return my $500 deposit. I've sent them the emails and invoice from the car company and still didn't receive my money. First they told me I had to wait 16days to see it in my account. After the 16 days were up, they told me I would have to wait 31 days. Now I'm close to 40days waiting, and still nothing. I told them I want to cancel my account and they won't let me, or tell me how. Don't go with these guys, worse company ever. Don't make the same mistake as I did, stay away from plastk

Anyone want to start a Class Action Lawsuit?

I tried to verify with Equifax, and every
question on the verification had
information regarding someone else,
but when speaking to Equifax over the
phone, all of my information they had
was correct and my accounts were as
they should be. I believe I have now
been scammed by their company,
because when I went to go verify my
identity with Plastk, it wouldn't verify
either. Which is totally fine, because I
don't want to verify and set up my
account with their company anymore,
anyways.
I was researching what documents I
needed to upload and there was no
information anywhere in their website,
google etc. But I did come across the
BBB and read almost 150 complaints
stating the same thing, pretty much.
I'll advise, that I am in the legal field.
It's very easy for me to access
information regarding my rights. So, it
is my right to NOT completely set up an account if I do choose not to. That
being said, if I request the money to be
returned, the refund must take place
immediately and funds in my bank
account within 7-10 business days.
According to almost every complaint,
their company has either told
consumers 30, 60 or 90 days for a
refund. Sometimes they never return
the money at all.
I have made a dispute with my bank
already at Although I am doubtful I will
get the $1000 returned.
It is also my right to seek other ways to
dispute the loss of funds, which may
include making a police report
regarding this incident. I have made a
police report and they are opening an
investigation on this situation and their
company.
I have lost my funds, and I believe
Plastk has made me a victim of identity
theft, so, that's on my police report as
well. They accessed my bank and took $712 on top of what I sent them. I did
not authorize this.
All in all, their company makes me feel
uncomfortable doing business with
them and it is my right to not fully set
up my account and have my money
returned in 7-10 business days.
If all else fails, I do have access to one
of the best lawyers in my city, as I'm a
student under them, and will take legal
action if needed.
I made a report with the BBB about my
experience. If I get a response from
Plastkstating anything less than refund
immediately or seeing it in my account
within 7-10 business days, I will be
rejecting every response.
I thought I was doing something good
for my credit, but I do not get a good
feeling and it was my mistake to not
seek out reviews at first, but it is my
right to not do business with your
company to eliminate the stress of what I feel your business will cause me.
They advised me that in order to close
my account I need to verify myself and
they will close the account IN 60 days
(a cooling period).
I responded with: If they process the
closure in 60 days this means their
company will charge me fees that I
didn't incur, because my account isn't
even "open", as I didn't complete the
verification process. I have done my
research and as a company that
provides a credit option such as a
secured credit card, you do not have
the right to "stick" consumers with
fees they didn't incur on accounts that
aren't active.
Anyone want to hang together for a
class action for our money back?

The reply from Plastk is silly. I have contacted them repeatedly and no resolution has evolved. I stand by my statement that they are a scam and anyone willing to pursue a class action, please reach out.

I give this company ZERO. STAY AWAY. THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY AND GOOD LUCK GETTING IT BACK. STAY AWAY. I have been waiting going on 2 months to get my deposit back - nothing - same message from different people. No one to talk with other than online. It's AI I am sure. Stay away from this company

Stay away from this company! They will lie about the cost, then they will say you get bonus points for signing up and never give it. Also if your card gets hacked or stolen its your loss and they won't do anything about it. There's no security at all. They are a lying stealing good for nothing company. That has zero interest in helping you!

9 months waiting for deposit from Plastk Financial...

My Experience with Plastk Secured Visa Card: A Cautionary Tale

If you are looking for a secured credit card to build your credit score, you might have come across Plastk Secured Visa Card. They claim to offer rewards, cash back, and free credit monitoring. However, before you apply for this card, you should know about my experience with them and why I decided to cancel it after 12 months.

Plastk Secured credit card requires a security deposit to set your credit limit. It is designed to help people with bad or no credit history to improve their credit score and earn points on their purchases. However, some customers have reported issues with Plastk Secured Visa cards, such as:

- A long waiting period of two months to receive their security deposit back after cancelling their card.
- A misleading student advertisement that promised zero dollars yearly plan with no monthly fees, but charged $6 a month and a $48 membership fee instead.
- A difficult online portal that did not accept them as students and prevented them from getting their money back.
- A poor customer service that did not resolve their problems or offer any compensation.

These issues suggest that Plastk Secured Visa card may not be a reliable or trustworthy option for people who want to build their credit

However, to my surprise, I was charged $6 every month as a maintenance fee. When I contacted Plastk again, they told me that the student offer was only valid for the first year and that I had to pay the monthly fee. They also said that they could not refund me the fees that I had already paid.

I felt cheated and decided to cancel the card and get my security deposit back. However, when I tried to do that online, I faced another problem. The online portal did not recognize me as a student and asked me to pay another $48 membership fee to cancel the card. I called Plastk again and explained the situation, but they said that there was nothing they could do about it.

I was frustrated and angry with their poor service and misleading advertising. I felt like they were holding my money hostage and making it hard for me to cancel the card. I told them that I wanted to file a complaint and get my money back as soon as possible. They said that they would try to make it right, but they also said that there was a 2-month waiting period to receive my security deposit back.

I think this is unacceptable and unfair. I do not recommend Plastk Secured Visa Card to anyone who wants a secured credit card. There are better options out there that do not charge hidden fees or make it difficult to cancel the card. Plastk Secured Visa Card is a scam and a rip-off. Stay away from them.

UPDATE:
It has been four months since my problems began and my account was cancelled and Plastk still has not given me back my security deposit. First, they said there was a two-month waiting period after cancelling, and now, four months later, they say they have a backlog and can't do anything further to help me. I never realized returning a person's money by e-transfer is such a consuming task! They decided to continue charging monthly fees of $35 a month in "late fees" for not continuing to pay the card fee that I cancelled months ago. This is pretty much a scam and I'll keep believing it until I ever get my money back from Plastk Financial!

January 13th, 2023 UPDATE:
Plastk Secured Visa card is a scam. They charge monthly fees and a membership fee even if you sign up as a student. They also delay the refund of your security deposit for two months. Their support is unhelpful and dishonest. They do not honour their advertised offers. I regret getting this card and I advise everyone to avoid it.

March 11th, 2023 UPDATE:
It's been over 6 months now and every time I call they simply say my security funds refund is there top priority. I've begun looking into reporting Plastk since they aren't doing anything but stall.

April 19th, 2023 Update:
Still have not received my refund so yes, in my opinion, Plastk is a scam and I urge you to consider another secured credit option. Waiting since September 2022 and this post is as mean as I've been Lol. I have been patient with them and they persist to state I'm at the top of the queue to receive my funds back but every month it never arrives.
AND PLASTK you are crooks, you did manipulate me as I have emails proving it. I have emailed you multiple times and each time you DO NOTHING. Until I get my $300 security deposit back I don't truthfully believe a word you say anymore.

STAY AWAY! THIEVES! LAIRS! NO REFUND!

Stay away from this company. My story started back in December 2020. I got a $300 dollar credit and early in 2022 I decided to increase the limit on my account to $10,000. Well, I originally was hoping to pay in exact $100 or $1,000 denominators but to my surprise they would take money from my additional security deposit for "Honorary Payment" which included some decimals. So much for my credit limit in perfect denominators.

Anyways, I increased the limit $10,000 and while I generally help a balance of less than $1,300 and even went to zero. Plastk always had my balance plus a balance of $3,300 showing up on the app (charging me interest rate on a phony balance). Even though the credit available was correct they were reporting to Equifax the balance of $3,300 or so every month even when my balance was pretty much zero. I felt that they were also using the excuse to charge my interest rate with the phony balance. I was charged the annual fee of $48 or so back in early January/February 2022. When day while checking my statement back in June 2022 as I didn't really use the card and had an almost zero balance I noticed that Plastk had charged me again the annual fee again. I quickly emailed and they refunded my money. However, I had complained about the incorrect balance on the app and that it was being reported to Equifax and I even took screen shots of the app and my credit file. Plastk told me that it was a computer glitch and that they would fix it. They never did.

Anyways, I decided to close my account after I had taken out all of my money to pay off another loan that I took out. They said that the account won't be closed until 60 days afterwards and that they would charge my interest on the balance ($9,500) and that I still have to make monthly minimum payments or that they would report me. Capital One never done this to me when I closed my account with them.

I will be complaining to Alberta Consumer Protection, and I've reporting them media about this.

December 9, 2022 - They still haven't given my money and they are still charging me interest and expecting to pay minimum payment. It's been well over 60 days now approaching 90 days. Ridiculous.

Also, don't believe those fake reviews, there was one review in which the person was saying that PLASTK helped him rebuild his credit in UK - It's fake!

UPDATE: I'VE EMAIL CBC MARKET PLACE. PLEASE EMAIL THEM AND TELL THEM WHAT IS GOING ON SO WE CAN TAKE CLASS ACTION AGAINST THESE CRIMINALS!

Horrible customer service

Horrible customer service, they take your money tell you they are having trouble making cards. Keep your money until you realize your card is never coming. Now you call after waiting the days to receive your card and are told they will return your money in 30 days. Stay far away from Plastk. Does not help build credit!!! No transparency just false hopes!

Customer service doesn’t exists

Customer service doesn’t exists. I’ve tried to reach out more than ten times was only able to get through once. Even then my problems weren’t resolved. Certain transaction types won’t work, hotels, car rentals etc. I had a chargeback I wanted to file but they never followed through.

A little sceptic because of all the bad…

A little sceptic because of all the bad reviews but I will keep my fingers crossed. So far so good. They told me 60 days before they report to the credit agencies. It’s been just under two so hoping they are legit.
