Plantur 39 didnt help, but Taoist soap did thus far
Having tried other shampoos for hair growth, and possibly minimizing hair falling out, I stumbled upon Plantur 39, I started using them and initially it felt good, as I like the smell, and it didnt seem like any harsh chemicals are inside this, so it was a thumbs up.
However having used this for 6 months, I can't see any benefit gained from this, if anything, I may have lost more hair (not due to plantur 39 but just not helping enough perhaps).
Anyway, again, journey continued to searching for what works. I came across another similar hair product, in a soap form (Called Taoist Soap) designed for the scalp and use for hair. I'm not related for that company, but i must say, only in the second month, I can already see my hair falling rate is decreased, I almost have no hair falling in the shower or bed anymore. Only thing I changed was using this soap 2-3 times a week, and then use normal fragrance free shampoo on other days. I am a male and over 40.
Anyway, i think some products work and some don't, depending on your body and how it will react.
After two weeks of use
After two weeks of use, I finally tossed it. My hair looked and felt like straw. Very drying. Did not have any thickening effect. I didn't like it and wouldn't recommend it .
Leaves hair greasy!
Due to menopause and thyroid issues, I felt my hair was thinning. I have used Alpecin on and off over the years, but read an article recently that said these caffeine shampoos do very little to reduce hair thinning as they are not in contact with the scalp for long enough.
My hair suddenly felt thinner than ever so I thought I'd give Plantur 39 tonic a go. I had tried the tonic before, a few years ago and found that it made my scalp dry and extremely flaky. But, I thought I'd try it again, along with the Alpecin. I haven't used it long enough to say whether or not it has had a positive effect on my hair thinning, but what I will say is it leaves my hair very greasy and feels as though I have hairspray on it?!
I think this time too will be a short lived experience. In the bin again I'm afraid.
Do not recommend.
Menapause hair thinning - Plantur39
Started using Plantur39 due to meanapause hair thinning.
Stopped using because it is making my hair feel coarse and dry, no shine, similar texture to when lacquer is applied. Wondering if the product is coating the hair strands to give the effect of thickening.
Used for approximately 1 month but had…
Used for approximately 1 month but had to stop due to hair being left extremely dry, brittle and shedding. I bought the Plantur conditioner to use alongside the shampoo but I have put both in the bin. I am now undertaking a course of deep conditioning to try and restore my hair. I have changed to using OGX Thick & Full+ Biotin & Collagen Shampoo and so far I'm really impressed with how it makes hair feel and look (and smells lovely too). Disappointing and would not recommend - though from reviews it obviously works for some.
This has worked for me
This has worked for me. I’m 44 and have long blonde hair. It was falling out in clumps so I bought the shampoo and conditioner. Iv noticed over the weeks my hair isn’t falling out, it’s thicker and I can use it every day. I’m really impressed and happy with it.
Does live up to the hype.
I had to stop using this product after only 2 uses. It brought my scalp out in small, very irritating bumps.
Terrible
I used this shampoo a few times...it made my hair very brittle and then my scalp became itcy raw and very red. So stopped using it and it took my scalp a few months to heal.
I tried this shampoo and conditioner…
I tried this shampoo and conditioner hoping it would help my extreme hair shedding but found the product made my hair dry and brittle and in a worse condition than before. There should be some redress on the cost of £20 from the company . Avoid this product !
I’ve started to use the Plantur 39 for…
I’ve started to use the Plantur 39 for coloured & stressed hair in the last few weeks. My hair feels rough after I wash it out but the worst part is trying to get a comb through! It’s taking me longer than before & so much hair coming out. Not impressed & sooo disappointed.
I feel extremely disappointed and upset…
I feel extremely disappointed and upset by the effect of the hair thickening treatment serum. It has caused extreme scalp itch and irritation. I have put the bottle in the bin today. It was an expensive mistake.
This product was not for my hair
This product was not for my hair. Left it dry brittle and alot of hair loss when using it. I'm told this is a temporary, but my hair was left in such a dry parched mess.
It works
Been using it a week. Noticeably less hair fall and I was losing a lot of hair due to hormones and thyroid issues.
Concerned about the alcohol content though. My scalp is fine so far , but perhaps long term the alcohol will dry out my scalp and hair roots. So I am already looking for an alternative alcohol free option.
Since using this my hair has come out…
Since using this my hair has come out alot and have very thin patches. Definately do not recommend
Good for colour but beware of skin reaction
The colour function of the product is all right. By this I mean it was working pretty well in covering the grey hairs. (I'm referring to the Plantur39 Brown colour)
After using it for two weeks I started to get a horrible rash in my whole skin every time I would rinse the shampoo. Curiously enough, not on the scalp, as I'm guessing my hair protected it a bit. But after rinsing the shampoo in the shower, my whole body will get an uncontrollable rash. The only worst thing I had ever felt on my skin was hell's hitch. And this one comes at a close second.
If you are lucky not to get an allergic reaction to it, then I think it might help with the colouring. Just pay attention to your skin reaction to it.
Unsolicited positive comment from my hairdresser
I visited my hairdresser last week (2.5 months after having started using Plantur 39 shampoo, conditioner and hair tonic). I made no comments to her about using any products on my hair. With no prompting, therefore, she exclaimed that my hair felt thicker. I then explained I was using Plantur 39 on my hair, and she commented “well, it is most certainly working”. I don’t think I need to say any more!
Unwanted facial hair
I’m sorry to say this and I’m so disappointed
Unfortunately for me unwanted facial hair is one of life’s problems and I’ve noticed that since using Plantur 39 the facial hair growth has worsened and so the product is not suitable for me
I would rather be grey than the bearded lady
The product is brilliant my hair colour is lovely but alas….. not for me
Orange hair and more hair loss
Unfortunately this is my second bottle, I was hoping that with the frequent use I will have good results. It’s turns my gray hair to yellow/orange, it looks ridiculous with more hair loss.
I wish I had read about it before buying it.
24hrs from using Plantur 39 tonic
24 hours on from using the planter 39 tonic to instruction, I have experienced red sore itching watering eyes. I persevered assuming that it was a temporary response to something outside ? But the moment I wrapped my hair the swelling & pain disappeared so I washed ut out straightaway.
This is outrageous ? That a mainstream product can cause this response in such significant numbers . Where is the regulation!
Caffeine keeping me awake
Is it just me or does anyone else end up being awake at night if I wash my hair with plantur 39 in the evening or night time.
The caffeine in this product is like having an energy drink.
Plus as I only wash hair once a week it doesn't seem to be working
