Don't take a bike rental from them. Find another solution

I had a motorbike accident and plantec assist have supported me to have a replacement until my bike has been dealt with.

the first ensure that I encountered with plantec was when when my battery is in my ebike where draining and I had to call them for assistance and ask them to charge them in order to prevent irreversible damage to my batteries which as you can imagine are very expensive. as you can imagine the support to too long and my batteries had to go into the the EMR system and cut themself of basically in order to prevent any further damage.

plantec assist the brought my bike back with few extra scratches on the body so if you are really going to use them make sure you take extra pictures when they pick it up and also on the return.

to make a long story short after 1-year plantec assist continues to ask me for sending bank statements and various documents as they are still in an open battle with the third party insurance.

plantic has to demonstrate that I really needed to use the bike so it is really frustrating that I have to to be stressed and wonder if I need to scoop thousands of pounds from my pocket in order to pay for the bike rental.

Long on hold times waiting to speak to…

Long on hold times waiting to speak to someone. Sometimes more than an hour. They wrote my bike off, fair enough but 3 months on and even though the finance has been settled by Plantec I am still waiting on the extra money from the offer after the finance was taken care of. Tried on multiple occasion to try to speak to someone but the long on hold times I found myself hanging up and trying again later. They never update you with regards the claim, you have to constantly chase them. When you eventually do get through to someone they just spout lies as have no clue about the claim. I was told once the 3rd party sent the money to them then they would issue a cheque to me. As it happened the 3rd party paid me directly and when I enquired more about my case they said the 3rd party is looking into liability. Honestly it’s like dealing with an Indian call center and this is a fully UK company. Avoid using this firm and save your sanity. They are not what they seem.

Awful company

Awful company, I'm insured by Lexham and was passed on to Plantec who when I phoned after someone turned right in front of me causing a crash, immediately provided a loan bike giving false assurances that I wouldn't have to pay for it - a google search the next day found dozens of people complaining about being charged for these so I sent it right back but it took 7 days, 3 emails, a call to Lexham and waiting on hold for 45mins trying to speak to Plantec before getting cut off until they collected the loan bike. Two weeks later I emailed asking for an update and another two weeks later haven't had any response, waited another 40mins on hold and actually managed to get through this time but apparently my case handler wasn't available so they said they'd just pass on a message. Over a month after the crash having provided all requested documentation immediately I have no idea what's going on and when I might be able to proceed with repairs. If you ever have to use Plantec, don't accept a hire bike and make sure you have the repairs done locally instead of letting them take your bike. Just google Plantec and read all the horror stories for yourself.

Update: I've still had no response to emails and phone enquiries 2 weeks later so I phoned the 3rd party insurer who have accepted responsibility for the costs. I've emailed Plantec to tell them I will no longer allow them to represent me. AVOID PLANTEC AT ALL COSTS, THEY ARE A FRAUDULENT SCAM COMPANY. IF YOU HAVE A NO FAULT CLAIM YOU CAN DEAL WITH THE 3RD PARTY INSURER DIRECTLY AND GET YOUR CLAIM RESOLVED FAR FASTER.

Fraudulent company - non-existent customer service

Plantec has failed to pay out for 2 months causing me a serious loss of earnings. Their customer service number seems to be unstaffed as I have had to wait for an hour or more regularly on the phone to them simply be cut off. I have talked to trading standards about this company as it seems to be fraudulent at most or at least purposely withholding money from customers. I am likely to take Plantec to court over this issue.

AVOID this company, used TWICE and let down TWICE by them fix it your self if you can

I’ve had the misfortune to have twice felt with this company. 1st time 2021 my sons 2019 motorbike was involved in a minor accident resulting in £250:00 worth of damage in total. When the driver delivered the 1st hire bike, he informed us that “They will say nothing for 2 months then they’ll say it’s a WRITE OFF. After weeks of emails phone calls to speak with your DEDICATED HANDLERx 3 staff don’t stay long there. We’d had enough and I phone my insurer told them how we’d been treated and wanted the claim stopped the bike returned to be fixed local garage. The insurers advised I sent a strongly worded Email to plantec also about how we had been treated by them. The following morning we got a call from a very upset Dedicated handler number 4 asking why I’d sent the emails to the management. (Sounds like he got the ass kicked)asking why we wanted the bike returning, I explained to him about the lack of communication and the 2 hire bikes that broke down & how we’d been treated by them and wanted to repair the bike myself. The following day I received a call from plantec to advise us the bikes condition and report that it’s WRITTEN OFF!! At Exactly 2 months and 1 day. They returned the bike a few days later and it was back on the road with new parts after 3hrs in the garage, 2 hrs was charging the battery. The 2nd time. October 22 the same bike was Stolen, after 20 days of being messed about by the police trying to find out where the bike was and which officer was dealing with the case, we finally got an address of there garage, but they won’t release the bike until the release fee and storage charges paired and contact your insurance. I contacted them on the 18th Nov and informed call handler what was needed “I’ll get someone to ring you back”. I ring again back the next day the 19th and explain what’s needed and what’s happened about the police hassles no call back from them. “I’m sorry about that” “I’ll mark this urgent to save storage charges”.”And get you called back as a matter of importance”. They ring back on the 22nd at 5pm. I tell them to shove it as I paid it my self to avoid storage charges, from the garage, once again a cheap repair at £50. UNLESS YOUR DESPERATE DONT USE THIS COMPANY. FIX IT YOURSELF. They took the bike 1st time to THE UK’s LARGEST VEHICLE SALVAGE AUCTIONS before wasting 2 months. AHEAD OF WRITING IT OFF, FOR A CHEAP FIX. but they slap the charges on for the hire of another vehicle. No wonder we are paying excessive insurance prices

My son was involved in a moped…

My son was involved in a moped accident, Plantec paid him out and arranged a hire moped. All ok until 2 years down the line and he is now being taken to court by the other parties insurance group. Plantec won’t sort this out and have buried their heads in the sand. They originally sent a letter saying my son would not have to pay any money at all.
What is the point of insurance? Do not trust this company. I will be taking their correspondence to court with me, and then suing them myself.
