I would definitely recommend Planning By Design for anyone with a building project in mind.From the very start with the phone calls.Every one is so helpful kind and lovely to speak to.I was so looking forward to designing my new side extension with them ut unfortunately I hit a problem with the drains in our gardens Unfortunately I couldn't go ahead with the project It took a little while for me to get the water board in my area to come up have a look.Planning By Design gave me time with this not pushy or anything.Im just so upset I wasn't able to go ahead with my project as the price digging up and moving all outside pipes would cost to much as they were in the way of new extension.I would highly recommend Planning By Design so helpful and they explain everything to you so clearly from the start what they do for you and are so friendly.

We contact planning by design to ascertain whether it was feasible to convert our garage into a multipurpose room. From the initial enquiry the whole team has been professional. we initially applied for a lawful development certificate but sadly it was declined due to a obscure rule that our planner Ellie advised shouldn't have affected us due to them using the wrong facing highway. This was ofcourse dissapointing but Ellie provided us with a few alternatives explaining each options merits. unfortunately when our planning permission was reviewed it was identified that there were some discrepancies to the councils records and ours from the previous homeowner. (Ellie was very supportive when we had a wobble). Ellie liased with the council and being so knowledgeable managed to get them to approve our planning application with a minimal delay

My partner and I were looking to see the feasibility of building on some farmland. We hadn't heard of anything like a feasibility report before but when we came across Planning by Design on Google.

I filled out all the requirements and had a chat to make sure we were all on the same page. Once we submitted our planning ideas to them they came back with a report that the surveyor talked us through over the phone.

Unfortunately due to the location of the land the project we were looking at wasn't feasible. They explained why, what the problems were and any loop-holes or work arounds that might have been possible as well as future plans.

They also came up with an alternative idea of converting an existing barn and how this could be navigated with the current legislation and the likelihood of success.

We didn't want to go with this idea but we were incredibly happy that we didn't have to spend £5-600 with the council to get the same answer as planning by design for 1/5th of that.

I recently worked with Planning by Design on a double garage conversion project. They were extremely competent and offered great advice. However, what I was most impressed by was their speed. They turned around the drawing, planning documents extremely quickly. Vey happy to recommend them and will use them again if required. I only wish the council were as efficient!

We had great support from the beginning to the end of submitting a proposal for planning permission. A defined strategy, design and heritage statements prepared by a qualified town planner, architect drawings and ongoing liaison between our planner and the local authority. The service was very good value for money
