Beware of Pickyassist – Scammers Alert!

I regret to say that my experience with Pickyassist has been nothing short of a nightmare. Initially, I was hopeful that their software would streamline my business communication, but it has been a complete disaster.

From the outset, the user interface (UI) was clunky and extremely difficult to navigate. It felt like using software from the early 2000s – not at all what you'd expect from a modern solution. Despite my patience and repeated attempts to make it work, the entire software eventually stopped functioning altogether. It was a complete breakdown, rendering the service utterly useless.

What made matters worse was the abysmal customer service. I reached out to the contact person, Anil, numerous times to resolve these issues. Instead of offering a solution or even basic support, they outright refused to issue a refund. This is unacceptable and feels like a deliberate scam to take money without delivering a functional product.

Save your time, money, and sanity. Avoid Pickyassist at all costs. They are unreliable, have a terrible UI, and their customer service is the worst I've encountered. Anil and his team are running a scam, plain and simple. Buyer beware!

Avoid Picky Assist

I should have paid more attention to reviews. I've now learned the hard way and I wanted to at least make some meaning out of this, and help others avoid these same problems. The TLDR version is this: this company is scammy and has a crappy UX, there's other alternatives out there, I like ManyContacts:

Their free trial is not really a free trial because to actually test out the product, during the sign up, they'll make you enter payment details. They don't mention anywhere that you're actually subscribing to a plan. So it's not really a free trial, you're subscribing without knowing it. As in there's no emails saying you're subscribed, nothing which clearly lays out that you'll be charged every month. The other thing is that they accept only Paypal. I believe a lot of business owners, like me, would have a lot of money on their Paypal account. Because of this, I was never notified that there was a payment charged every month. I hide all the emails from Paypal in my inbox. I couldn't have imagined that the free trial I signed up for months ago would be charging me every month. I should have paid more attention yes. But there's also a deception from Picky Assist here. Have you heard of a company charging a business every month and not issuing any invoices? Not sending any emails, except for a couple of emails during the free trial itself? There's clearly a strategy here, a certain portion of people won't realize they've been subscribed against their knowledge and won't notice they're being charged. Even if you're more diligent, this type of practice shows they'd rather deceive their customers than invest in building a better product to actually win them over. BTW, I also learned through this experience that Paypal is of no help to resolve issues related to subscriptions. They have no standards with regards to communicating about fees charged, how to cancel etc. I am sure that if was a credit card charge, I would be able to dispute these charges.

We tried out the WA service over a few days but during the trial period, WA blocked our account. We had only sent a few messages for testing, nothing crazy, but it was still blocked and we never got that number back. I would say it's not worth taking the risk. Thankfully we were testing with another number, not our actual business number.

Once I discovered the charges and logged back on to the account after 8 months, Picky Assist looked identical to what I had used in the previous year. No improvement in UI or features. It has a really bad, unintuitive user experience, so it definitely did need changes. It's clear that whoever build this is just considering it like a cash cow. They don't care about their users and making their product better. It's better to work with products that are being actively developed. The might be lacking a feature, but if they're quickly developing it and are attentive to users, they'll improve much more quickly. This is what I found in ManyContacts, it's been working out well for us.

COMPLETE SCAM

It does not work, I tried one of their main features and after 3 calls with their support, IT DID NOT WORK. Apparently, they do not give refunds either so I've paid them for NOTHING and I've no right to claim my money back. Support is useless and didn't even show up to some of the calls THEY had scheduled. I've sent emails asking for help solving this and I've gotten NO ANSWER.

This platform is shady and it doesn´t work well

This platform is shady and it doesn´t work as it promises... I tried the free trial to see if it worked for me and it had many limitations so I paid the full plan and when I tried to make the platform work it performed really bad which made me loose sales.
I asked for the refund and they sended me a ticket which I can´t see because I can´t get in with my user which is why I say that this platform is shady, I haven´t even get the refund and they already deleted my user or something like that. THIS IS A STEAL, DON´T TRUST THEM!!!!

Very frustrating to discover that they…

Very frustrating to discover that they have such shady and dishonest company policies after almos 2 years.

We paid U$200/month for their services for over one year and when we cancelled because we wanted functions that their service didn't offer they refused to refund the U$800 we had deposited for future payments.

We were informed that in their terms of use it was "clearly sateted" that they don't offer refunds but this could not be further from the truth.

Not only was it not informed, we had made over one dozen deposits and NEVER ON ANY OF THE PAYMENTS did they ever once inform that ther are no refunds for unused funds deposited in their wallet!!

If they wanted to be transparent, all they had to do is at the time of payment inform that there are no refunds for deposited funds but THEY NEVER DID THIS.

In contact with the company they said they would "soon have the functions I needed" and that I could use my credits later if I wanted.

Unfortunatly functions like live chat which was in "alfa" almost 2 years ago, continues in alfa until today and I not only do not want to wait, I no longer want to work with a company that has this type of refund policy especially when it is "hidden" from the client!!

Avoid them because if was clear that as soon as you have any minor problem they will act in a very dishonest way.

Scammers.

Scammers.
And I only tried Pickyassist because they are linked to Zapier, Zendesk, Zoho.
Misspelled words on the website. I picked up 3 words in the first few minutes.

On their dashboard:
WA (WhatsApp) Severs Update Status.... not WA Servers

I added $40, $29 for the package and $11 for the airtime. 24 hours later, $0

Officially I was scammed, record of 16 years broken.
