Does not work
I paid a lifetime fee of $99 and downloaded the PicBackMan product. Despite installing, uninstalling, and reinstalling it many times the product does not work. And despite my repeated efforts to contact support I have not received a response.
I would like a refund.
program no longer works and inquires for support no longer answered
PicBackMan worked well years ago, it no longer works at all, at least to link to smugmug (the only way I used it). More importantly PicBackMan no longer replies to any inquires including chat, email, the "contact support" message on their webpage or the book a meeting feature (they did respond in years past). I think the program is defunct although they continue to offer the product for sale.
Definitely do not purchase this…
Definitely do not purchase this software. While it initially worked for me linked to SmugMug, it no longer does and they do not respond to any support request emails. I also used the support feature on their website to book a time with them, which I did, but they never showed up to the meeting or sent a meeting link. I have a feeling they are just taking people's money now and not supporting the app.
fraud
fraud
They took the money. I installed the software and it is not working. I wrote to support, no response. Looks like the software has not been updated. They just take the money and transaction and nothing works.
Dont use this, not sure why its coming up as top software on everywhere.
Awful company with awful software.
Awful company with awful software. First of all the software does not dfdo what it claims. I was trying to backup a SmugMug site and calculated that it would a month to complete looking at my SmugMug site, and that's before any transfer of files had started! A month! This is beyond impractical, so I deleted the software from my system and emailed asking for a refund. No response. Repeated requests for a refund have fallen on deaf ears. Their website clearly states '30 days 100% money back guarantee'. That is a pretty clear statement. But not one they honour at all. I've had multiple emails from them telling me how great their software is, what it can do, etc., but they are ignoring my refund request. They also claim to be based in the US, but they're in India.
I've contacted my credit card company to obtain a full refund. In the UK we're protected by 'Section 75' for cases like this.
A scam of a company who are ignorant and deceitful.
I also never received a receipt form them, I had to take screenshots from their website to get proof of what they claim.
Save yourself the hassle and bother of dealing with these fraudsters. They misrepresent in all aspects of what they do. I only wish I had read the reviews before buying from them, as the reviews alone are a clear statement of how bad these cowboys are.
Avoid this company!
I paid for a Elite subscription, which was on sale ("30% off!"), but when checking out no discount was applied so I had to pay the full $99. Which irked me, but since I desperately needed a solution I went ahead with it. The program itself I tried to run on three different Macs (1 silicon, 2 M1's), with frequent crashes and freeze-ups as a result. The latest try ran for 72 hours, only "importing" 972 pictures from my Smugmug (on a total of over 50000, which subsequently couldn't even be found on the destination server. Tried to get in touch with the support team multiple times (which resides in India, so it turned out) who had no clue where to start. The Zoom meeting they scheduled was a chat session that for some reason started an hour early (check your world clock, guys) and offered suggestions I had already implemented before. It was also cut short when less than half the scheduled time had elapsed. After a lot of emails, they finally responded that they would allow for a "partial refund, since I had used the program". Come on, this is a program that's non-functional!
So the gist is: don't believe these no doubt fake raving reviews on their website. I should have checked TrustPilot first and paid later....
Avoid this company!
Quick tip: if you want to import from SmugMug, try Smudo in the app store. That solved my problem, and the developer offers fast and effective advice if needed.
Pricy, extremely slow, insecure
I can only speak to uploading to Google Photos. I have a lot of photos going back as far as 2001. I like to keep my photos organized in folders by year and date taken. I needed an app that would upload all my photos and create albums based on the folders they were in. When I bought this app, Amazon Photos still had an API that would allow you to upload photos directly. Sadly that is now gone.
Now if you have a few hundred photos, PicBackMan may do the trick. If you have thousands of photos and hundreds and hundreds of folders, good luck getting them uploaded in anything less than a couple of months, even running continuously. The reason is, every time PicBackMan goes to upload photos, it catalogs every photo and album already uploaded to Google Photos. This is an extremely slow process that takes longer and longer the more photos you have uploaded, until it takes days just to catalog everything before it uploads new photos. So after finally getting everything uploaded and albumed, I quit using PicBackMan and stuck with letting Google Photos do the work and creating my own albums. This was almost a year ago.
Recently I went through my entire photo collection and re-cataloged and re-named most of them and wanted to upload them anew to Google Photos. So I re-installed the version of PicBackMan I had. To my surprise I found my Google Photos account now linked to some user in Egypt. I could download his photos and upload my own photos to his account. This seems like a serious security problem. PicBackman support told me to download the latest version and install that. Perhaps they did something on their side to break that link too, I don't know. But when I tried to link my own Google Photos account, all I get is "This browser or app may not be secure". "Try using a different browser". PicBackMan support gave me the same advice: use a different browser or update the one your are using. Neither of these suggestions work as the windows that comes up to log in to Google Photos isn't a browser window; it's part of the PicBackMan app. Support even suggested I modify my email profile in the Control Panel. Didn't work either and what has that got to do with logging in to Google anyway? After contacting support again pointing out none of their solutions worked, they are now ghosting me. Just for the heck of it I tried linking to my OneDrive account. Even worse than Google; a login window comes up and closes right away.
What else can I say? The PicBackMan app window isn't resizable, and on a 4K 32-inch monitor even with 125% scaling, some of the fonts are so small you need to squint with a magnifying glass to read them.
Shady Business Practice - Charged for "Free Forever" account and they won't issue refund
Perhaps their product works for some people, but it was not what i needed. Since what I signed up for was a "Free Forever" account, I never bothered to close it once I realized it wasn't going to work for me.
However, they immediately began charging me a $79 annual fee that I did not notice because it was coming in right during the holidays when a lot of gift money was being spent. After the third time, I finally noticed the charges, I reached out via email, showed them the proof that the account I signed up for was "Free Forever." They did not respond. After a second email, they responded that they would get back to me with a solution. A week later, no further response so I followed up stating that the only solution was a full refund since I never authorized them to charge me, they responded that they would provide a full refund within ten business days.
Four weeks later, I sent them another note after no refund was issued. They did not respond. I opened a dispute via PayPal, but only for the most recent charge since the previous two were too far back to dispute.
I sent another email. They responded, "Don't worry we will refund all your money" but as of this time no refund has been given over a month since they said they'd refund within ten business days.
They seem to respond to every other email claiming they’ll make things right, but continue not making things right. Blatantly shady business practices. I assume that incorrectly charging people knowing that a percentage of those people won't notice in time to request a refund through their payment processors is just part of their business model. And their customer service practice is to respond just often enough to convey enough hope for a solution that a percentage of those folks will continue waiting in good faith instead of disputing. In other words, my experience with this company suggests they steal and grift quite deliberately.
Avoid this company.
Nothing worked
None of the APIs worked properly. Apple Photos, Google Drive, Google Photos, One Drive, Flickr and Dropbox are all fails. Customer service just answer with "sorry for your experience we will get back to you shortly" then don't. I booked a 1 hour customer service call and it was with a bot! In my opinion totally unfit for purpose.
Don’t buy unless you want your personal files copied
After actually having to purchase the software due to the amount of images I needed transferring from SmugMug to Dropbox, this is when I found out it doesn’t actually work.
It connects to my SmugMug fine ambit my Dropbox it doesn’t and shows tokens expired. The team at picbackman don’t respond to emails of support and so I took my questions to Dropbox. They say the token expires because they receive odd requests to copy your personal data without permission and placement of virus files within you Dropbox space. So basically your paying for a scam.
48 hours later only 10 percent migration
I installed Picbackman on Friday, my Dropbox has 3TB of data, only 500 GB pictures, my internet is 1Gb up 1Gb Down, after 48 hours migrating from Drobbox to Flickr only 10 percent progress. Nothing in Flickr yet. Support in India and they don't work on the weekends. Only Email support or Web chat appointment. Email responses slow and do not address the issues, template responses. Set up a Video Conf call and received a conf code but no link to an app to log into. I have no Idea how to fix the problemm Tried different PC's, reinstalled everything everywhere. NOT WORKING and NO SUPPORT. No Refund after 3 days.
Works as it says
Works as it says. Very helpful if there's a problem.
Succesful migration from Smugmug to Google Photos! Thank you!
I was honestly doubtful this would work, so many false promises on the internet. I had 12 years of fotos on Smugmug, and wanted to migrate completely to Google Photos. Over 20,000 photos and 50 galleries and sub galleries. PicBackMan made it happen, and while i had a few doubts, the customer service was quick, calming and got it done. I would add a bit more info that migrating could take over 24 hours to start, but i was told that when i wrote, thanks so much! G.Villarrubia
The cancelation refund process was a pain
The cancelation refund process is an extreme pain in the ass. They do not send you your receipt of payment for subsequent subscription. They just deduct your subscription without any notice. Despite having stayed with them for 3 years, their customer service is one of the worst. They did not want to extend to a lieftime version, because I forgot to cancel my old subsriptions. Cold sounding emails, with no sense of customer importance. They lost me, and I will not recommend to engage them anymore.

Extremely happy with the service from this company. Easy to understand the process; when I needed to contact customer service they were very helpful. I would definitely recommend PicBackMan and will use them again in the future when necessary.
A relief!
It's such a relief to finally consolidate all of my photos onto one site. I couldn't have done it without PicBackMan. They were so helpful and communicative when I ran into some trouble. Recommended!

The ONE app to move massive amounts of photos.
I will spare you the boring details. I was a faithful customer of Google for years. My Gmail was created back in 2008. But for personal reasons, I had to divorce myself from the Google ecosystem--which included a decade worth of photos to Google Photos.
This app does what it says it does. But that is not the most amazing part.
The amazing part is the support staff. I had a couple of hiccups with connecting and moving tons of photos. They made updates to their software in order to get the job done.
Don't balk at the price--just get it yearly subscription if you need it once. They are very cool with getting for a year and canceling.
This is money well-spent.
If I had to migrate again or had any friend ask me, this is the only solution for me.
Management of photo archives.
If you wish to consolidate and maintain your various photo archives then this is the tool to do it. I had various archives dating back to 2004, the largest being with Google. They have now all been amalgamated, collated and catalogued thanks to this product.
No problem with machine reboots
I have experienced one of many wonderful features of PicBackMan : No problem for machine reboots. I cannot say how I am confused when after 3 days of migration ( because my computer is very old and very slow ) of 19.000/20.000 photos , the CPU fan error cause a shutdown. Fortunately, this didn’t cause any problem to PicBackMan and when I restarted it, the migration continue with the last 1000 photos, like there is nothing happened to it. And all the photos are in albums as I had before. I cannot find the word to express my happiness !
I am grateful to you Vaibhav, to all the PicBackMan Team , and especially to Miss Charu who directly supports my case with patience and kindness.
Thank you very very much. Great applicatioon !
Great program…
I had all my pictures on SmugMug and did not know how on earth to get them back into my computer still arranged in the lovely file system I had created on SmugMug. PickBackMan did this perfectly. Thank you so much.
