Great experience!

I recently completed my CBT in Farnham with Phoenix and Chris was great. Really knowledgable and happy to share information and provide feedback. He was patient with the newer riders and helped personalise the experience for the more experienced ones.

AWFUL INSTRUCTING

Do not come here for your CBT training. I am certified forklift trainer and my courses I do are longer and more in depth than the “ instructor “ if you can call him that gave me. Which was a FRANCHISEE instructor so they didn’t even use there own instructor to train me.

The worst course I’ve ever been on, didn’t help me master anything on the bike in 4 hours and then called the day off then after I paid £160. He got a lovely early finish and made £160 for 4 hours of inadequate training.

They then didn’t give me a refund for this awful training and blamed it on my skill level. Funny that I went to a different company and in 45 minutes instructed me properly with the correct knowledge helped me master all the sections I needed to carry on to the roads. Basically due to the instructor being so bad at teaching they took £160 from me and left me not wanting to ride a bike again.

Please go anywhere but here.

( if I could give 0 I would )

Thankyou for your review. I am disappointed that you did not feel you got thetraining you expected from the instructor.

I spoke at length with your father on Thursday afternoon, who raised the complaint on your behalf.

Your father explained about your perception that the instruction was inadequate. I agreed with your father that I would investigate the complaint and respond either later that evening or the next day.

Your father then contacted the office on Friday morning requesting a refund as you had booked another CBT course elsewhere .

You had not given me the opportunity to investigate your complaint and offer a solution in the agreed, reasonable timescale. It is for that reason, I am unwilling to offer a refund.

When I did speak to your father on Friday evening, I explained that my investigation, which included speaking to the instructor, gave no indication that the training and instruction had not been appropriate or to standard. Had the instruction not been sufficient, you would not have been able to complete some of the element C exercises.

In our terms and conditions/joining instructions, it clearly states that if you donot reach the right level to be considered safe on the road, then you will needmore training.

To resolve the complaint, I informed your father that, without prejudice, I would be prepared to offer you a continuation CBT on a 1:2:1 basis and this could be done on either Wednesday or Thursday this week. Your father declined this offer on your behalf. Please note this offer still stands.

As agreed with your father, I sent you a link to the DVSA so you can complain to them if you wish. It is the DVSA who issue CBT instructor licences and monitor standards.

Once again, I am sorry you did not feel you had a good experience but I would encourage you to consider my offer to resolve the matter should you still need to obtain a CBT certificate.

Excellent

The focus of the training that Phoenix provides isn't just about passing tests, it is about developing safe riding skills that enable you to get the maximum enjoyment from riding a bike. I did my CBT, Mod 1, and Mod 2 with Phoenix. All parts of the training were excellent, and Jon's knowledge, skills, and patience were remarkable. Thank you!

I just passed my CBT with John in Phoenix Motorcycle, Farnham. John is an excellent instructor and explains everything thoroughly. The course was not only informative but great fun also. I could’t wish for a better instructor and I highly recommend to take tour test with John Hewitt

PMT Farnham with Jon was awesome

PMT Farnham with Jon was awesome. I get very anxious when I do tests and didn't think I could make it, Jon kept encouraging me and wouldn't give up on me. I finally achieved this lifelong dream and passed my Mod 1 and 2, really grateful. This old lady is ready to ride.

Farnham Phoenix is your best bet!

I did my CBT at Farnham last Saturday and it was really great experience and i'm very much satisfied with the services provided at that Centre.

Mukthar, the instructor who was someone really great you should get trained with, he was very patient, kind and detail throughout the whole process and he gave his very best to the very end to assess my ability.

Jon, the branch manager a very good kind person who has explained me about everything in patience like training, tests, gear, best practices and etc..

Instructor did his best, but...

I did my CBT in the Farnham branch.
Instructor was very good but equipment provided was not well maintained. One bike started intermittently and could not be used on the road, one had a sensitive brake problem that threw you off if braking too hard, not great for beginners! Issues with the radios also delayed the whole day by a fair amount also. The whole day was more stressful than it needed to be, and there was uncertainty multiple times about whether or not the CBT could be provided on the day.

Many thanks for your review. First of all well done on competing your CBT with us. I am sorry we had mechanical issues on the day. These do occur occasionally as with any fleet of bikes that are being used regularly but these issues have now been fixed. Yet again, well done on completing your CBt despite these issues

This review concerns Jon at Farnham.

This review concerns Jon at Farnham.
Jon was helpful and flexible from the very start in trying to assemble a suitable course for my son who wanted to stay with an automatic licence but on a bigger bike. My son responded to Jon's advice and training which resulted in him passing his test today.
I cannot recommend Jon enough.

Late to the bike party

I am almost 60 and decided to scratch the itch the scratch and get my full bike license. I took my CBT in March, bought a cb125 to practice on. Then did my Mod 1 & 2 beginning of July. For most of my training and pre-tests, I had Micky. You couldn’t ask for a more professional, diligent and positive instructor. Having been in education/training for nearly 40years, I can spot a good one. I also had Barry for part of my CBT and Martin for my pre-test prep for Mod 1. Both good guys. Phoenix seem a really good outfit from the quality of instructors. I would recommend without hesitation

Everything you need in an instructor

I did an assessment on a 650cc bike with Jon at Phoenix Farnham Honda and subsequently a half day improver training in December to feel comfortable on the bike.
I then booked my full licence training DAS (Mod 1 & 2) in January. With the temperatures being on the cold side at this time of year, the conditions were not ideal for a new rider (cold, frosty and damp) but I was always put at ease with Jon's advice. Jon is an excellent instructor, with a friendly, encouraging and patient manner. I would highly recommend booking with Jon for any of your motorcycle training.

Great ERS course with John at Phoenix Farnham.

What a great day. I was given an ERS (Enhanced Rider Scheme) course by my partner as a Christmas present and it was booked with John Hewitt at Phoenix in Farnham. What a good lad he is. Great character, knowledgeable, experienced, and to cap it all a Moto Guzzi fan which shows just what good taste in bikes he has.
The weather was miserable, a grey day with this persistent moisture just hanging in the air but as they say in Scotland, there's no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes. I rode over in the morning and we met up for a quick coffee and an explanation of the course. He asked me what it was that I wanted to get from it which I thought was a cool approach. I've been riding bikes for 30 years and apart from my test no one has sat behind me observing how I ride so I wanted confirmation that I am a decent enough and safe rider. John explained that we'd be riding for a while then we'd stop at the midway point for some feedback and a mid point review before continuing and that we'd be taking in as many types of road as possible. We'd be in constant communication with a two way radio so we could discuss stuff on the fly.
Setting off from Farnham in Surrey we also rode around Hampshire and Wiltishire with twisty country lanes, sweeping bends, urban areas and even some motorway riding.
I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend this course , and John, to any rider regardless of experience. It is so informative to have a trained eye observing your riding and planning techniques and picking up some new ones on the way. The course did exactly what I wanted. Re-assurance that I am a good and safe rider.
The bike we used was a '15 plate Honda CB650F which was in great condition and performed very well throughout.
The only issue I had was that the comms were a wee bit crackly and at times I couldn't hear John but partly that was to do with my flip-up helmet which isn't as quiet as it could be!
Thoroughly recommended, thanks again John, pleasure to meet you!
