Most dangerous cars on the road
Until last year I had inly ever owned 3 cars and 2 have been Peugeots. Both have had life threatening faults. The first one, a 206 d-turbo, just breaked on its own so I was driving along at 50 and I was suddenly doing 20. Luckily it was boxing day on a rural road or it could have been disastrous. The other, a 207, had a power steering fault where the power steering would suddenly cut out out the blue do you never knew if it was working. This was a recall on many cars but not mine. The following year the place where I worked who had a 207 a year newer had the same fault. A garage quoted them £1500 to fix it, luckily I had experienced this and did get Peugeot to mend it for free but again the car was never recalled? How can they get away with manufacturing such dangerous cars? On top of this the 207 had serious clutch and gear box issues and it definitely wasn't me. It had 3 full clutch kits and fly wheels, 4 master cylinders, 3 slave cylinders. At least I know why it had already had 2 owners at 3 years old when I bought it. In addition to this, the quality of the safety tools is appalling, made of a low grade alloy (probably similar to the parts used on the joints of the titanic). The wheel wrench snapped first use and the same thing happened to a friend with a Peugeot partner van and when I did need towing, I was only towed a few meters and the towing eye just bent and snapped, again leaving me in a dangerous situation and damaging the car. Peugeot did not want to know.
Peugeot do make pretty cars but I will never ever be taken in again. If both the cars I had had life threatening issues it really doesn't say much, unlikely to be a coincidence. I was so traumatised I went out and bought a brand new car in the most reliable car I could find and a further car so I could drive it while I waited for the new one because I was just so scared of driving the Peugeot. Stay away if you want something safe or reliable! I honestly don't understand why they are still allowed to make cars!

After 8 months of owning a new 308 GT Hybrid, getting rid of it as connected services are not working, customer service never offered a resolution after multiple contacts, local dealer will not help either, and send back to customer services, car lost half its value in 8 months. Really a bad package, costing £1,000's in a short amount of time

we have a **** Peugeot new 2024 car all electric and my son drives a Toyota aygo X 2022 that is so much more reliable and better... I am now on first name terms with my local Peugeot service centre.. Sorry love the brand after my 205 GTI.. Different times..
Peugeot Purgatory
My mother is disabled. Her wheelchair accessible vehicle is a lifeline for her.
It has been in the garage since July 2nd following a MOT where it was discovered that a BSI unit was needed. It is now mid October and no sign of the part. This is a very small repair.
At no point has any additional care or empathy been shown to my mother for the life limiting impact this has had - including cancelling a holiday (cost of hire car was prohibitive and no offer of help) and meaning that it was nigh on impossible to leave the house due to her disability.
Worse than all of this has been the treatment by customer care which defies belief and has actually made the situation worse with at best confusion and ineptitude or at worst deceit and a lack of care and empathy. Examples include - telling us a part would be delivered, when we now know it would have been clear to them that this wasn't the case. Also, referring us to the courtesy car team, when it's obvious we don't meet the company's own criteria. All seems geared towards stalling and confusion rather than care and solution.
DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Local dealership (Busseys, Norwich) are more helpful and seem if anything a victim of wider company malaise.

Purchased a Peugeot from one of their dealerships - with a Peugeot warranty. Car has had two faults in the last month. I've had the car for almost a year so can't return it. Complained to Peugeot - whose Customer Care adviser was extremely rude, including telling me it was my fault for purchasing an older car (even though the car is still under warranty)! Complained to Peugeot again about this and they just don't want to know. I will never buy from Peugeot ever again. I love the car, but the Customer Care is appalling!

My 2021 Peugeot boxer with only just 17,000 miles on it the power steering pipe bracket has cracked I was told by the dealer that was a common problem. As the van has done so little mileage and it is a steering component I expected it to be done under warranty so I got in touch with Peugeot customer care which is just a call centre not even in the uk.The first person I spoke to said that Peugeot would probably pay half for the repair which in my mind being a major steering component should really be recalled and replaced with a pipe and bracket fit for purpose. The next person I spoke to said that Peugeot would NOT pay for anything. I put the problem on a camper van forum on Facebook which I was horrified to see that it is a very common problem which Peugeot/Citroen are fully aware of so obviously Peugeot / Citroen are waiting for someone to have a serious accident before they will do anything. What a appalling company this is my first Peugeot and it will certainly be my last! I am Seriously thinking I should put the problem and my experience on all the Facebook and social media motorhome and campervan sites !
Reliable cars and great service
I’ve owned two Peugeots, a 308 and a 3008, both purchased brand new from official Peugeot dealers. My first was from Penryn in Cornwall, and the second from Newcastle upon Tyne. I’ve had no issues with the brand at all. Both cars have been reliable, and the service provided by Wingrove Motor Company’s garages has been consistently good.
I find it difficult to relate to many of the negative reviews on Trustpilot, as it seems that people tend to post only when they've had a bad experience. In contrast, my experience has been always positive. For example, after three years of paying for an extended warranty, I finally encountered an issue with an electrical fault involving the warning lamps. The repair, which included parts and labour, was completely covered under the warranty. On top of that, Wingrove’s team provided a complimentary wash and vacuum, which was a nice touch.
ZERO stars.
My 4 year old Peugeot 208GT line developed a Park Assist fault, which was found to be due to a seal around the ECU which had let water in and corroded pins. I was quoted £645 to fix it, but that wasn’t a guaranteed fix and if it didn’t work then a ‘harness’ would have to be replaced - further cost of £2450. Really!? A four year old car in otherwise immaculate condition. The £645 part was ordered and it STILL hasn’t arrived at Arnold Clark (enough said..) Peugeot dealership in Stirling a month later. Peugeot Customer Care called me two weeks ago and said it was delayed again, but would still be delivered within 24 hours as priority. They lied and up to a few days ago it still hadn’t arrived. Peugeot had had my car since July. It’s now the end of September. I had approached Peugeot Customer Care for financial help as to me that was a manufacturer fault, not normal wear and tear etc. and I now was facing a possible bill of £3.5k. They refused. Why? Because I was only able to supply them with the details of the 2 services I had arranged, they ‘needed’ a third one which had been done by Cazoo before I ever bought the car. As we know, Cazoo went into administration in May this year and the company that bought them won’t give me the service details. I asked for a courtesy car and had to jump through hoops, and guess what..? I never got one. I was also given 3 different phone numbers for Customer (Don’t) Care, one in Portugal, one in Ireland and finally one in England. I have no idea where the few call I received came from, Portugal I suspect as each time the person had an accent. Crap customer service from start to finish. I had 3 case numbers, one for the part on back order, one for a courtesy car request and one for the request of financial help with the bill. And they were all dealt with by different people, it wasn’t a case of phoning one person and they could ‘deal’ with all 3. I considered contacting the Motor Ombudsman and the CEO of Peugeot (Linda Jackson if anyone is interested) as I was so stressed by all this but I made the decision to just sell the car and cut my losses, which upset me as it was a beautiful car and I loved it. I had only had it for 2 years and had done 32000 - less than 7.5k a year I just had to draw a line under it all as the stress was affecting me badly. Never again will I or my husband buy Stellantis. A company is only ever as good as its Customer Care and they have completely failed with theirs. Hang your heads in shame. Couldn’t leave a zero star review so one star it has to be.
Water dripping into boot is normal - apparently!
After rain water pours into boot space when boot door is opened. That is into the space containing luggage - not the drain areas around it. Raised this at first service at Chester dealership to be told the rear light unit was not sealed and that water falling in the boot was normal. Have stuck gaffer tape over the gap the water comes through. Would have thought Peugeot could come up with a more fitting solution. Water in the boot normal - what rubbish.
Don't buy Stellantis
It's one of the worse ownership experiences when your car goes wrong. And being a Peugeot, something big will happen.
Wait time on parts can be from months to a year as there are very common issues such as Aircon failures. For instance at one dealership they had 6 on order all for warranty work!
The varying dealerships have different levels of service, skills and honesty.
I had to go through the motor ombudsman to force Peugeot to replace some parts I could prove happened and were faulty within warranty too....
Never again, just buy any non Stellantis product.
If I could give zero I would.
If I could give zero I would.
Horrendous experience with my 2008 - it’s now 5 months since I first took the car in, & in all that time since, I’ve had my car for 3 weeks. It’s sat in the dealership waiting for its 2nd replacement engine as I type - but I’m constantly being fobbed off about the reason for the delay getting it repaired, despite them having had the parts for 3 weeks now.
Peugeot customer care closed the case as soon as the part was delivered to the dealership so they now don’t want to know so my only option now is legal action.
Feel like I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place. Just want my car back so I can move on and trade it in!
Wet Belts prone to failure
They lie from 0 miles. Not reliable cars. Buy Honda or Toyota ( not perfect by any metric but better). Do not touch french cars, they are prone to failure. Had a garage for 20 years and know exactly what I am talking about. Stay away from everything with a Stelantis stamp on it.
Never ever buy a Peugeot.
Never ever buy a Peugeot.
One of the worst cars I’ve ever had in my life. After a four year period of a brand new car, the problems became to unravel quickly. Made of utter rubbish parts. Engine oil lasts no more than a month.

Peugeot 2008 has a very low quality engine which can malfunction and burst anytime. My Peugeot 2008 SUV engine malfunctioned and bursted at approx speed of 45 km/hour and I escaped from death. Later I contacted manufacturer's agent , Lucky motors Pakistan, but received a pathetic response. And warranty was rejected with lame excuses.

very bad service
after a fault with my 208 dealer said
it would more than a month before they could look at it

I saved up and bought a Peugeot 308 HDI convertible. In general I have had Peugeots for 30 years and have never had a problem. I also have a 3008. My problem is that I have hundreds of little pock marks all over the bonnet……no where else. My 308 is a 2013 model with 36 miles on the clock. I have been told that the pock markers are because of poor preparation and application of the painting process. To get is resprayed it’s £800, that I don’t have. It’s put an end to Peugeot in the future.
Peugeot Chingford Shambles service
Peugeot Chingford (customer) service was substandard
Service staff so laidback and unprofessional that they have no interest in customers who are waiting for them to complete the service.
There is a disconnection between the technician and the front desk, so your car is never ready. Paperwork takes forever. Are they the only company not using 21st century technology/
They failed to offer me a courtesy car. The car was faced in the wrong direction to exit. The service was not recorded. The whole point of the service!
It would have been better quality if I had gone to my local garage.
Terrible
Terrible, terrible, terrible. I cannot stress to you how bad an experience I am having with my Peugeot, that was less than 9 months old when the first major issues arose, and with the customer care team when I’m trying to get these issues resolved. The call centre has some of the worst customer service I have ever encountered and I wouldn’t wish them on anybody, so unhelpful and unprofessional. The vehicle itself has ceased to function with no warning twice, with less than 4 weeks of driving in between. A terrible product from a terrible company.
Awful service and awful customer…
Awful service and awful customer service.
My car which is a year old. Went into Lichfield arbury as the media system failed.
Waited 4 weeks for a new computer to be installed and now on the 9th week waiting for technical to respond to a ticket.
Also no Availability for a suitable Peugeot courtesy car.
All I get told is we’re awaiting technical to respond to a ticket.
