Avoid This Company at All Costs

I’m writing this to warn other business owners and hobbyists: stay away from Pet Jellyfish.

I purchased a 30-gallon jellyfish tank for my pediatric dental office to create a calming, premium experience for my patients. Instead, I received a defective product and what can only be described as completely unacceptable customer service.

Here’s what happened:

* Broken from day one: The pump failed immediately, so the tank couldn’t even cycle. A brand-new system that doesn’t work out of the box is already a major red flag.
* We had to fix it ourselves: We ended up installing our own pump just to get the tank running. That should never happen with a new product under warranty.
* Lighting still doesn’t work: Once the tank was finally cycling, the lights were extremely dim and didn’t change colors. We were sent replacement parts with zero instructions, had to figure it out ourselves, and the lights STILL don’t work.
* Completely inadequate jellyfish: They shipped jellyfish under 1 cm for a 30-gallon tank—basically invisible and not appropriate for display.
* Unacceptable “support”: Instead of standing behind their product, they kept pushing us to troubleshoot their faulty system and even suggested we go out and buy parts ourselves.
* Absurd return demand: Their “solution” was to have us ship the defective tank back to Europe at our own expense—despite the fact that it has never worked properly.
* Then they disappeared: After we pushed for a proper resolution, they stopped responding entirely—no replies to emails, no follow-up, nothing.

For context, my family maintains multiple saltwater tanks—we know what we’re doing. This is not user error. This is a company selling defective equipment and refusing to take responsibility.

Bottom line:
This company does not stand behind its products. You’ll spend your time fixing their mistakes, chasing support, and getting nowhere.

If you value your time, money, and sanity—do not buy from Pet Jellyfish.

Excellent customer service

I had an excellent experience with Pet Jellyfish. I was debating between the moons and the blue cannonballs and reached out to them through their website with questions that were all answered. I picked 5 of the 1” moons and they arrived on time and alive. All 5 are still alive and thriving and range from 3” to 6” in size now and I couldn’t be happier with them thank you guys.

Great experience all the way around!!

Great experience all the way around!!! Used great materials, jellyfish are great and easy set up. Unique tank and love it….definitely the talk of the neighborhood for sure…..everyone that comes and sees it loves it!!!!! Thanks for everything

Customer service is top notch

Customer service is top notch. Delivery is on time. The only problem I had was the size of the jellyfish I bought. But they did put bigger ones in the next time I bought. I’m happy. Will definitely do business with them again. The only problem I had was I bought the food for the jellyfish and it didn’t come with the jellyfish. They didn’t believe me and made them see the video of them not sending it. I don’t steal or lie so I got upset that they didn’t trust a customer.

Awful customer service and guidance

Tank was satisfactory, however the instructions and support were embarrassingly bad. If you're a newcomer, don't even bother. They came in a mixture of Japanese and German. The email support was just as clear. A mix of jumbled advise without any clear guide or help. The videos provided were in German. (They are not a UK company as implied). For what is an expensive piece of kit, you're far better off going to a local provider

The Ultimate Jelly Site

I'm very gleeful that I was introduced to this company. The were very respectful and communication was optimal. I love my jellies and customer service was with me the entire step of the way getting them setup sufficiently. I will and forever be grateful for the time spent on my silly questions. I would surely suggest this site to my friends and family!

Supplier Performance Review.

This company went above and beyond expectations.They answered all my questions regarding my possible order of getting Jellyfish and when I decided to get them I wasnt disappointed with my purchase.I got them the next day that they were despatched.They were very well packaged and the jellyfish are beautiful.

Great communication and follow up

Great communication and follow up. Order arrived quickly and all the jellyfish were healthy. A little smaller in size than I expected, but hopefully that just allows me to watch them grow and live a bit longer. Only thing I’d add is, would be nice to have some information included in the packaging as to the bacteria, acclimation, etc. but all that information is easily found online as well as the pre-shipment troubleshooting guide they email in advance. Overall a great experience. Thank you, especially to Patrick who kept communication open and was very responsive timely. Thanks again

They had amazing customer service

They had amazing customer service. This is the only place I could find that sold jellyfish that wasn’t a scam. I had some concerns about where my package was gonna be and they emailed me in 24 hours updating me about where it is and giving me a whole PDF on information as well it helped alot.

Do not buy from this company or sister company.

I would like to bring to your attention several critical observations regarding a specific company that may affect potential customers:

1. **Location Misrepresentation**: It has come to my attention that the company is not based in the UK, but rather in the Czech Republic. Consequently, both the food and equipment are sourced from there. Furthermore, the jellyfish shipment originates from the Czech Republic, raising concerns about the validity of their claims regarding the 'disease-free' status of their products.

2. **Pricing Concerns**: I have found identical tanks and equipment available at significantly lower prices, approximately one-fifth of what this company charges.

3. **Markup on Parts**: The company appears to resell components of other branded products at inflated prices. For example, nitrifying bacteria can be obtained at significantly lower prices from Sera-Marin, as well as distilled water and salt.

4. **False Advertising**: The company presents itself as a UK-based entity, complete with a UK domain name and description. However, based on my experience with two separate tank orders and jellyfish species, all items were shipped from the Czech Republic.

5. **Related Companies**: The company has a partner entity, "PetJellyfish.co.uk," which claims to operate independently. However, it seems that they either share the same manufacturers and shipping location or have created two companies to mitigate risk. Both sites also use identical images for their products.

6. **Inaccurate Information**: The claim that one can cycle a tank in 10 days is misleading. In reality, it takes approximately four weeks for the cycling process to adequately adapt for jellyfish. There is no unique bacteria that can reduce this time frame.

Read the negative reviews…

The other reviews on this company are most likely false or submitted by the company themself. The I bought from this site after an issue with its sister site ‘UKJellyfish’ and I was faced with even more issues. The filter is far too strong, sucks in the jellyfish by their tentacles, the filter is awful, lets everything through, even with the additional filter material I added, the tank can be purchased elsewhere for more than half the price.
They re-package everything poorly, items from other brands siphoned down and shipped to you in torn up fish bags, but for more cost than the actual product!
They give you all this made up information on how the tank works, no manual or leaflet about how to care for the jellyfish, just 30s long video clips and poorly written PDF’s.
And this company is also not based in the UK, despite having a UK domain! Read the bad reviews, they are from real people!
- I have also reverse-image searched the photos for the ‘positive’ recent reviews and they are all from google / people who do not match the name shown. Additionally read some of the replies to these reviews from ‘Adam’ in CS, it seems they’re hiring children to reply. Be cautious if you buy from here.

We love our jellies!

We absolutely love our jellies. As first time jelly fish owners, we definitely had to learn a lot about how to care for them. Patrick at Pet Jellyfish really helped us a lot when it came to figuring things out. He was very responsive and gave us great information, videos and guides. Any issues were resolved quickly and satisfactorily. I highly recommend Pet Jellyfish as a great place to get your jellies and jellies supplies.

O16 Starter Kit

I purchased the O16 starter kit. When I started the tank about a week in the ammonia level was still high. I reached out to PetJellyFishUS, Patrick responded within a day and advised how to fix the water ammonia levels. He also gave me links to YouTube videos for the manual. Also you get to request your delivery date for the jellyfish for when your tank is ready. Mine arrived about 12 days after my tank was started.
