Good communication and solved an issue with my passcode. Not the company at fault but another customer inputting wrong code. Results received much quicker than expected.

I have an issue with the findings of…

I have an issue with the findings of the lab testing . Both mum and dad are clear but pup came back as a carrier. I have emailed The Pet Gen Lab 5/6 times to ask if this is their mistake or stud dog fraudulent paperwork. I appreciate they cant share certain information, but I have not received any response. Such a serious matter, im very disappointed.

No results after three week wait…

Still haven’t had results three weeks after sending the swabs back. No response to my query email after four days.
Not good service.
Shame because I used Pet Genetics Lab four years ago and the process was slick.

Hi Gill,
Did you send back the brush swabs inside the barcoded packet? We had one set of swabs arrive at the start of April with no identification at all on them other than a Royal Mail tracking sticker, not even a sender address. With no ID on the swabs to know who has sent them we can't process them. That's the only thing I can think of, because all swabs with barcodes are scanned in as soon as they arrive, which fires off an email to let you know they are here. If you didn't receive that email, then it's likely that your swabs were the ones that didn't have any identification with them.

Avoid this company at all costs!

Requested tests for our dogs breed. We have parents tests which are all clear. It is impossible for the dog to be anything other than clear for this particular test with clear parents. Results came back as carrier. Terrible customer service they say they're retesting it but now don't answer. These test cost £150 total cowboy company avoid at all cost.

Not impressed

Not impressed, incorrect test results and poor customer service. Do not use, use someone that is accredited by the Kennel club as pet genetics lab are not!
We got an ICT test done for our golden retriever. Her dad is affected by it but mum is untested. Knowing this our girl should either be a carrier or affected. However the results came back as clear for her which cannot be accurate! I contacted pet genetics lab via email at the end of march but still have not heard anything back. Total waste of money I would avoid this company unless you don't mind wasting £50.

Pet Genetics Lab is NOT recognised by The Kennel Club - waste of time and money!

It turns out that Pet Genetics Lab lost their ability to have DNA test results recorded by The Kennel Club in 2020 because they do not comply with their requirements to fulfil recognised status. Shame I didn't know this until long after the tests were paid for and undertaken. As a result, the £180 worth of DNA tests (comprising 5 different tests for 4 different dogs, so not an easy thing to have collected samples for) is completely useless, and I have to go elsewhere to repeat the tests now, losing my money and months of effort. What a waste of time. Don't bother if you're a Kennel Club registered breeder - they will reject the certificates.
