Technician Dismissive of Health Risks; Serious Safety Breach: Infants & Asthmatics Put at Risk
I am extremely disappointed with the service and management of PestUK. We hired them for a mining bee issue, but the experience was a safety nightmare. Despite the presence of a baby, a toddler, and an asthmatic in our home, the technician failed to provide any proactive safety information about the chemical being used (Cytrol Forte WP - 40% Cypermethrin).
When my wife expressed concern about the strong chemical smell, the technician was patronising and told her, "You are paranoid." The manufacturer's Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for this chemical explicitly lists it as a respiratory irritant.
Upon escalating this to the General Manager, Scott Hyslop, we were further dismissed. In writing, he claimed that this professional-grade insecticide is "safer than normal household bleach." This is a dangerous misrepresentation of chemical hazards to a family with vulnerable residents.
Despite the high-potency chemical and the fact that we had to evacuate our home for 48 hours for our children's safety, the treatment failed completely. Six bees emerged in our living room today alone.
Management has refused a refund and shown zero accountability for their staff's verbal misconduct or their failure to provide informed consent. I would strongly advise families with children or health conditions to look elsewhere.
