Avaiator to avoid
I bought a 4 seater flying experience through Into the Blue for my partner as part of a Christmas present, the experience was with Perry Air. I specifically purchased it because it was a 4 seater experience and said the person could bring along a passenger.
Into the Blue advised me to call Perry Air to book, I spoke to a young and unconfident sounding female who did not ask me any questions other than where we lived, and did not provide any information about the experience. As such I had to ask her about covid restrictions and she said she was not sure but to bring a mask just in case. I asked if we would be informed if the flight we cancelled if there were bad weather conditions on the day and she said no we would have to call them 45 minutes before hand to check, which I thought was poor that they do not call the customer if they have to cancel. I then advised there was 2 of us attending and asked what the weight capacity was for the plane, she did not know and asked me mine and my partner's weights, he is 14 stone and I am around 18 (I am 5ft 10), she then said she did not think both of us could attend, and then told someone over the phone it would be a booking for one.
I said I did not want a booking for one and I specifically purchased that flight so both my partner and I could attend, and asked to speak to the manager. A male came on the phone and said it was a Warrior plane, I advised that meant nothing to me and asked him what weight the plane could carry and passenger weight restrictions he could not and did not provide an answer. As such I explained this to my partner sat next to me and we decided that neither he or myself would feel safe with an aviator company that does not provide a direct question in regards to the capacity of their plane. I said to my partner it is bad customer service.
The man on the phone said what did you say, I said I would like a full refund, he said no what else did you say and I said it is bad customer service and I am concerned that you cannot provide a direct answer to how much weight the plane can take and it's capacity. He advised I would need to contact Into the Blue for a refund. I then spoke to a customer service advisor from them who was rude and refused to allow me to speak to manager and refused to issue me a refund, and told me to email them, and also said at one point "listen to me".
As such I emailed the manager at Into the Blue to explained my concerns re Perry Air, and the poor customer service that was experience and they have offered a full refund. After speaking to Perry Air on looking on another site it appears that we are not the only one that have had a bad experience with this company.
I have no faith in a flying company that does not know the capacity of their plane. The flight was advertised as a four seater, there were 2 of us going to attend not 3 of us. On their own website it says that a person can take a passenger with no mention of weight restrictions. Any reputable company would give people information about the day and inform their customers about the event and what to expect, but Perry Air simply don't see to care.
