My order was damaged upon delivery and delivered with someone else's order. Not the fault of PM, but the delivery company. Initially responsive, but as a short period of time lapsed before I could report the full extent of damage (I was away), they refused to help claiming they could not reach me and it was outside of the claim window with courier. They also made a dig about having to remake the other customer's order, despite me trying to help track down the other customer to get it to them. Poor attitude and renowned for delivering wrong orders (I know two others with same experience).

Bought two lengths of period skirting board on line, I needed something to match the existing in my house. Product was delivered promptly by courier and was in excellent condition, appears to be high quality timber and is a great match. Very happy customer and would use again!

The architraves and skirting was not properly treated and had to be returned. This was not my decision but my contractors. To their credit, they picked up the product, treated the knots and returned everything in under a week. This is a credit to Andrew. Mark returned from a trip and apparently does not share Andrews sensitivity to developing long term customer relationships. Mark handles the business's door production but I believe he is also the head of the company.
I placed the door order in April and confirmed a 19th June delivery date. I called a few days ahead of the 19th to check on the door order and Lizzie, who took my order couldn't update me. Apparently only Mark had updates but Mark was travelling. Eventually, Mark got in contact but couldn't give me a delivery date. Instead he lambasted me for returning the architraves and skirting, making it clear he would not have accepted the returned product (unwinding Andrew's well earned goodwill).
10 days later (sufficient time to produce the doors?) and now Mark has effectively ghosted me and no one will return a call. We move into our home next week. Without doors it seems.
It is one thing running into production issues. Its another thing treating your customers poorly.
I wanted to buy British and I like supporting smaller companies but you should avoid Period Mouldings.

Update:
The doors eventually came through in four separate shipments. There was a lot of talk about quality control but the third shipment arrived, a pair of doors, and one door was 35mm and the other 40mm. Apparently they buy their door blanks from a third party who screwed up.
To their credit they came through with some custom curved skirting, which was helpful.
My impression is that Andrew is doing his best to make things work but they are more of a coving and skirting specialist.
The doors are expensive but not particularly high quality and they are not reliable.
Overall, the experience was unnecessarily stressful considering the sums involved.

A nightmare to get an update on my order. Firstly I was told the wood wasn’t in stock, then the machine to make them needed a service. Had carpenters at my house ready to fit the goods and couldn’t get a single clear update on the order and had to chase on 4 separate occasions after being promised a call back from the director and never received a single phone call. Then, refused to give us a refund when we realised a lot of lengths were damaged and told us to fix the damaged goods instead- such poor customer service. We just wanted an exchange for the damaged items, but that turned into a major email back-and-forth nightmare. They had the cheek to say our carpenter and painter can repair them after spending over 2k on architrave. The issue was never resolved and we have had to open a dispute with AMEX to get a refund for the damaged pieces. Disappointed!!

REFUSED to offer a refund and told to get them repaired following them supplying damaged items. Ive never had a company put up such a fight after supplying damaged goods, POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. This company continues to ignore us following supplying damaged goods we simply asked for an exchange which was a huge issue leading to days of back and forth on email... we then reverted to requesting a refund for the damaged items as it was throwing the entire home renovation off schedule and since then we have been ignored.
Firstly the supply time was double what we were advised taking over 3 weeks which affected our renovation project and caused everything to be shuffled around. Then they arrive and 25% of the stock is damaged or requires patchwork. When we made them aware of this we were then told our carpenter and painter could repair them. SHOCKING service DO NOT RECOMMEND...

Superb products.Highly recommended.
We purchased 18 linear meters of Eskdale picture rail.Quality was far superior to what we’d viewed at well known building merchants etc.
Kept informed regarding delivery.
Extremely carefully packaged.
Worth paying a bit more for craftsmanship.( I however found that their samples were a bit too expensive- would have been nice to have some money refunded when final order placed- we are very fussy- picture rails are not to be replaced regularly!)
Regardless of this-shall be ordering their dado rail soon!
Great match for our existing architrave. Great product Fast delivery. Would Def use again.
Excellent customer service. All questions answered very quickly and very helpful. All communications were very efficient. The only reason I have dropped a star is because the packaging could be a little more robust to allow for careless delivery men. My order arrived in good condition but there were areas where the packaging had been damaged and this did very slightly damage some the items. But I will definitely use this company again when I need more skirting or architraves.
Beautiful period solid wood mouldings. Very good choice of designs, woods and finish. One shortfall: it would be helpful to have a calculator on the company website which would allow to calculate the correct number of the moulding lengths to buy for a certain size opening. I would come back and buy again from this company - the product is great.
I bought the Fulford Picture Rail for our 1920’s house. It looks brilliant and in keeping with the rest of the woodwork. The material quality is excellent with next to no knots. Service was super too, fast delivery and really well protected. Will be buying some more to finish the house.
Fabulous service and nothing was too much trouble from helping find the right match to arranging speedy deliveries . Would most definitely use again . Thank you period mouldings
Very helpful in dealing with enquiries. Provided a product sample. Was able to arrange a specific week for delivery. Products arrived very well packed and excellent quality.
Bought a picture rail for the living room - came within the allotted fortnight and the moulding is excellent, very few knots (I ordered pine so was expecting more!) and no warping etc.
I've made several orders from Period Mouldings and they've gone above and beyond to get the products to me as quickly as possible when I've had builders booked in. Transit damage happens and they rectified any damaged-in-transit items quickly and without fuss.
I can recommend Period Mouldings: well priced, friendly, efficient and honest. I'll be returning to do the rest of the house.
Also, looking at the 1-star reviews it appears that someone is leaving fake testimonials.
Beautiful!! My partner and I are so thrilled with our new architrave. Who knew that the thoughtfulness which goes into these strips of wood could make such a huge difference to the feel of your home. They arrived pretty quickly and are lovely quality! Just what we were after and received. Their customer service is super and very friendly; they reply almost immediately and seem to go out of their way, plus you get to speak to an actual human being! No doubt in my mind that we will order from them again.
Another perfect order, refurbishing an old Victorian house. Now on my third order in 6 months. Quality good, great communication. No issues at all. And more orders to come their way as we progress round the house. Our Joiner found the product easy to use, and they will make any dimensions you require.
Excellent service, very helpful on the phone explaining the different finishes available, went to the trouble of sending me photos of the options for me to see. Items really well packaged.
I ordered skirting boards and picture rails and they look fab. Will use this company again.
I made a bespoke order for architrave to match the existing fittings in my period home. I received prompt replies to orders and queries, the order arrived within given timescales and I now have a quality product that exceeded my expectations. I cannot fault the quality of the timber, the replication or the finish, all were excellent and I shall use this company for all my bespoke timber work in the future. The only niggle is that the company tend not to be proactive by e.g. sending out updates or anticipating customer queries (hence 4 stars rather than five), but they are very responsive and very skilled craftsmen.
Just taken delivery of Leyton Georgian architrave.
The machining and finish is superb. All delivered earlier than expected . Top notch company. I highly recommend.
