How loot work for free
Our experience with PeoplesInfo was one of the most disappointing business engagements we have encountered in our years of serving clients.
We entered into a signed service agreement in good faith with the sole objective of helping PeoplesInfo build and launch a successful business. From day one, our team committed significant time, expertise, and resources to the project. We delivered branding, logo design, brand guidelines, website content, landing pages, SEO research, blog content, CRM planning, funnel development, lead generation, social media strategy, creative assets, videos, and ongoing marketing support.
Beyond our contractual obligations, we invested countless additional hours at no cost to the client. We conducted two comprehensive SEO audits, identified critical technical issues, created a fully optimized "Launching Soon" landing page to protect the brand during repeated website delays, built an additional lead capture funnel in GoHighLevel, coordinated with third-party developers, and provided strategic consulting throughout the engagement because we genuinely believed in the success of the business.
Throughout the project, requirements continued to evolve, timelines changed, and new requests were made. Despite this, our team remained committed, responsive, and solution-focused. We continued producing deliverables, attending meetings, revising assets, coordinating with external vendors, and supporting the project well beyond what was originally agreed.
What happened next was extremely disappointing.
After receiving substantial services, deliverables, and ongoing support, the client terminated the engagement and then disputed a previously paid $2,000 monthly retainer through their card issuer, claiming that the services were "not as described." We strongly reject that allegation. The project records clearly demonstrate that extensive work had already been completed and delivered. The client had access to the deliverables, participated in review meetings, requested revisions, provided feedback, and continued directing work throughout the engagement.
We have retained the signed agreement, emails, WhatsApp conversations, meeting records, website content, branding assets, SEO audits, CRM work, funnel development, lead generation data, videos, project files, and other documentation that demonstrate the work completed. All of this evidence has been submitted through the appropriate dispute resolution process.
Every client has the right to raise concerns about a project. However, there is a significant difference between a genuine service dispute and attempting to reverse payment after substantial professional services have already been performed. Businesses rely on trust, communication, and honoring contractual commitments. When a client receives months of work, continues requesting additional deliverables, benefits from completed assets, and then attempts to recover previously paid funds through a chargeback, it places an unfair burden on the service provider and undermines the integrity of professional business relationships.
We remain confident in the quality and quantity of the work delivered and will continue defending our position through the appropriate contractual and legal channels. We also hope this experience serves as a reminder to agencies, consultants, freelancers, and service providers to maintain detailed contracts, written approvals, comprehensive documentation, and complete project records. Those records become invaluable when facts need to be established objectively.
