Returns take at least 10 days to get credited back on credit
I’m a senior who lives in small rural town and my only way to shop is online as I also mobility issues. I returned something for the first time at Pennington and was shocked at the attitude of the customer service person. I ask why on the 10th business days I still hadn’t received my return on credit card and she put me on hold then insisted it’s been 8 business days. I immediately saw the futility of continuing the conversation but it left me with a very bad impression of Pennington. It shouldn’t take that long for a return to be credited in the first place. I will now shop at other online plus size businesses.
Cannot get a refund for a month already
I returned my items to pennington on March 26, 2026, and today April 24, 2026, and i still not able to get a refund of more than 100 cad. I did call four times, customer service opened a case on April 11, and untill now i cannot get my money back. I called today again and as usual i received this answer:we are going to escalate, and if i wanted a discount coupon for future purchase. I refused, i cannot get my money back for a month and they are telling me to take a discount and buy again from them?

Received Used Merchandise! Case resolved

I’ve been a customer of Penningtons for years now, I love the fact that I can order online and until now, I was always satisfied with the merchandise I received, never having to return anything until now. Recently, I ordered a pair of boots and I received them very quickly. When I opened the package, I saw that they were used! The soles were coated with dirt and gravel and the inside smelled of perspiration. I sent an email to customer service, stating the problem and all the details and pictures they might need. I got a generic answer asking again for all the details I had sent. They did not even bother to read my mail. I resent all the details by return email, got a generic answer again, they even went as far as giving me a 72hour limit to answer their mail with a list of the same details and extra pictures beside the ones I sent them the first time !! Now, besides returning the boots, they offer no solution. The size I need is not available anymore so I am penalized because of their poor service and no solution is given other than return the boots to a store or send them back! It's their fault for sending used merchandise, but I have the trouble of correcting it! I have to ask someone to drive me (I cannot drive), they only write off the whole incident as ''defective merchandise''. They don't even acknowledge that they made a mistake by sending unhygienic merchandise, someone’s used boots, and offer no compensation for my troubles. I would understand if it was a small independent seller who cannot afford to compensate a customer, but at the profit they make yearly, they could afford to, at least offer a small compensation for the troubles that I have returning their dirty merchandise. Besides, they don't even read your complaint but send a generic letter, not once, but twice! I will never buy from them again, I don't want to risk catching something from used merchandise! Buyer beware!
ADDENDUM: Since no satisfactory message came from Customer service, I decided to contact Ms Andrea Limbardi,President and CEO of Reitmans, who owns Penningtons. I got a quick response thanking me for bringing this to her attention, and assurance that the problem will be resolved, she also mentioned taking a closer look to how Customer Service is doing. I guess, when you reach out to the right people, the problem gets resolved in a satisfactory manner. I'm happy with how the things turned out for me, but also that my email served also to take care of how returns and customer service will be managed. Yes, I received used merchandise, but it served for others not to go through what I went through. A big thanks to Ms Limbardi for her prompt response and quick handling of the situation. This deserves five stars!

Placed an order using a gift card; Pennington's system would not recognize the PIN. Called Pennington's helpline on September 19, 2025, to resolve the problem. On Thursday, NOVEMBER 20th, 2025, the issue was resolved. Numerous phone calls and emails were made during this period. During the initial phone call on September 20, I was given a ticket number to use as a referral. Every time I spoke with someone, I was told:
1. Ticket # does not exist,
2. The person I was speaking with doesn't exist,
3. The e-gift card number doesn't exist,
4. I was told I was calling the wrong # and was
provided with the same phone number I was calling, and when asked why, I was given the same phone number to the person I'm talking with; they hung up. Upon calling back (within 1 minute), I was told I didn't exist in their system,
5. The author of over 10 emails doesn't exist,
6. Speaking with the supervisor, I was told all of the above...After a very painful conversation trying to legitimize myself, I asked the supervisor to tell me what e-gift card number they had...their number wasn't even close...I have no idea where they got the number, nor did the supervisor, because none of my numerous phone calls and emails don't exist, but they have my e-gift card number?? The supervisor apologized and added $25.00 to the gift card which might sound nice, however, the original purchase on September 20th was no longer on sale and the additional $25.00 didn't cover the now overpriced item. In September the item was originally $59.00 and $39.00 on sale. On November 20th, the original price had jumped to $89.00. I guess they increase the price for the holiday season.
PLEASE avoid the headaches and DON'T get an e-gift card. I will NEVER use this business nor recommend this company to anyone including my worse enemy...(I don't have one, but if I did, I'd let them know too).
Paid over $16 for panty hose
Paid over $16 for panty hose. The package said it had a control top. I purchased the size for my weight. Half way walking to the venue they were falling off my body. So much for control top. In the past when I paid $7 they had a reinforced toe. That is no longer. Don’t waste your money. For a speciality plus store and for the price of $16 you expect a product that responds to the needs of a plus size woman.
Eliminating Cotton shirts is wrong…
I love Penningtons styles and selection but they have discontinued most cotton shirts and replaced with Rayon and Viscose which is crap. Ive been a loyal Penningtons shopper for over 20yrs and have watched them close down many stores,I can see why. Its like Shein quality at Penningtons price and thats just wrong. I am shopping less and less as 100% cotton is disappearing from Penningtons and its all I wear. Do better, customers deserve quality and now youre selling cheap left over floral print,pattern crap.Losing me as a customer.... Im sure Im not alone
Pennington does not deliver on its orders
Received great service in store at Lethbridge. When they didn't have my size was promised no problem it could be ordered and delivered to my house as I live two hours away from Lethbridge. Since then it's been a battle. Never received my package sent numerous emails to try see where it is and have received zero response. Frustrated why have an online service and then not actually man it and respond to consumer emails.

DO NOT ORDER ONLINE!! I made a mistake while ordering online. In less than 24 hours as soon as customer service was opened and before my order had even been set up to ship I tried to change it. I had one number in the address wrong which was my mistake but it happens. Not with Penningtons online there is NO room for human error. I tried on PayPal which if the company (Penningtons) allows it there is a cancelation option which Penningtons does not allow. I wrote customer service immediately, tried to go on the Penningtons online website through my account no option to make a simple address change. I phone as soon as customer service opened and was informed no way can customer service help me out either once order is placed too bad for you. Very user unfriendly and in what world is there never error. I feel being it was caught within minutes there should be a way to resolve but not at all. Who knows if I'll just be out an order. Not me too early to tell.

Pennigton Online - 100% disaster
Sellers can directly sell their goods on Pennington website and you wont even know that. Later if you need a return the seller blatantly denies even when goods were not opened. To top it all unlike Amazon, Pennington doesn’t even stand with customer. Pathetic online service brand. They should stick to the brick n mortar model. 100% failure when they go online.

I buy T-shirts at Pennington’s
I buy T-shirts at Pennington’s. In the last year they seem to be getting tiny holes in the fabric. At first I thought it was my belt, so I discarded it & stopped wearing a belt. Still getting holes. Brand new one, only washed twice. I checked the washer & dryer to see if there was anything that could be snagging them. Nothing. Plus my husband’s clothes don’t get holes & neither do my tops from other stores. Do sad.

A day after ordering items online the prices dropped, not even 24hrs AND a message said, they will not honour the new price. I hadn't even received the items yet. Never again.

Never ever ever order anything online that is not sold by Penningtons directly 4 weeks later and still nothing, then try calling their service department 3 times on hold waiting to have them just hang up when they pick up the call and lastly not being able to help therefore having to try to contact the seller cause it wasn't an item sold by Pennington directly, needless to say the worst customer experience I've had by far.

I purchased a 20 pound bag of classic bird seed. birds loved it. a couple of months later, when I opened the sealed container, there were hundreds of bugs!!! i called the company about a replacement, and was told that bugs were normal. birds won't eat it now. the customer service rep was nice, but wouldn't offer to replace/refund my purchase. I don't believe bugs are normal. shame on pennington!!!! read the rest of the reviews. You will see that there are quite a few unhappy people.

I ordered a jacket from additionall sale items. Well I came yesterday and my daughter wanted to take it with her on a trip. The jacket came in a plastic bag so badly wrinkled . It was a return that had been worn. The collar on the inside was dirty and the sleeves were wrinkled as what happens when you wear linen. Also there was a small stain on the lapel. I'm not sure what is happening with Penningtons?? They used to be so good. What happened!! Customer service sucks. Most of them have an I don't care attitude. I order online now, even that is bad. I placed an order 7 days ago and order is still pending. I called to cancel the order and they won't let me. I am so upset. I will be returning ot as soon as it arrives.
