Received product on 6/27; contacted customer support about problem with product on 6/29 - cooling bed never remotely resembled pictures on advertising and website - came vacuum packed and still as flat as when it first arrived - never gained bed shape with back bolster so not a bed and more just a flat mat - got email saying that they were busy and it would be a few business days to respond but my email would be handled and that it would be treated as first made on date I originally contacted them. Contacted again on 7/8 and 8/8 - no response at all. No other way to communicate with them other than by email that they clearly ignore. Pelsbarn apologized on this site which is appreciated BUT still have not contacted me to deal with my original issue with the product.

Horrible experience from start to finish.
Horrible experience from start to finish. It took a long time to receive the two medium cooling mats and pillows that I bought for my dogs. I laid one mat down, found they were too small for my dogs and immediately boxed them back up requesting an exchange and never even put the pillows on the ground. Starting the exchange was a nightmare. You have to pay to ship them back, wait weeks for them to inspect everything and then be told that the pillow had a mark on it and it didn’t qualify for a refund. I explained that I never even put the pillows on the ground and that they must have arrived like that, but it did not matter. By that point, I was so aggravated that I just asked to refund everything as I did not want to exchange the mats any longer. They charge you a $7.99 restocking fee on each thing that you buy, and the pillow was not even refunded due to their mistake. It cost me $55 to do business with this company and I have nothing to show for it other than time wasted and aggravation. Highly recommend never doing business with this company!

My service dogs love their cooling blankets, and I love the mission
I really love the product from this company, and more importantly, so do my dogs. We have three service dogs for different family members, and as part of the handlers and the dog's training it was suggested that we find a blanket etc. that the handlers could take with them whenever we left our home. This way the dogs would know they were to lie down and stay. It has worked great. I put the cooling blankets down once we get home in their favorite places, and when they are ready to lie down, they go right to their spots. The price may seem a little high; however, the mission behind the product is worth it. When I buy from Pelsbarn, I am also supporting animal shelters. I am so glad I found this company. I have made four purchases so far and have been pleased with every one of them.

Terrible customer service
So I bought the L Barn bed, which is supposed to look like a miniature bed, but for dogs. According to their website, it looks like a bed. Well, mine arrived. It has no "headboard," for want of a better word, but you get the idea. Instead it came with an extra cushion, which does not fit anywhere. There are no instructions with the bed. I "chatted" to their customer service on Sunday, Aug 23, sent them the pictures of what I received. I received a confirmation that I will get a response soon. Fast forward five days, and I email them again. This time, a response comes back that they will have to "review my order" and see if I'm eligible for a return. It adds that I have 30 days to return any product, but they have run up five of those days.
Update: I have since figured out how to make the “extra cushion” the “headboard.” Really, this entire issue could be prevented if Pelsbarn had bothered to just slip a piece of paper with instructions into the package. Not all of us are handy. The fact that customer service must have seen the issue but never bothered to say how to fix it, is reflective of a bad service ethos company. Very disappointing because supposedly Pelsbarn donates to shelters with every purchase. I am not sure that I can support them despite this, given the poor service ethos of the company.

Want a good dog bed? Don’t buy from Pelsbarn
Starting at the beginning I ordered the cooling beds and the large orthopedic dog bed on July 30, 2026.
The partial order was delivered 08/06/2026 the order was delivered but there was no orthopedic dog bed.
I contacted Pelsbarn on 08/07/2026 about my order missing the dog bed via email. On 08/09/2026 I received a email asking to send pics of the codes on the cooling mats I replied on 08/12/2026 with pics. On 08/12/2026 I received an email that they were very busy and would respond sometime.
On 08/16/2026 the bed was shipped and I received on 08/19/2026.
The bed had no instructions what I have is a big piece of foam and 3 rectangles of foam. Also a cover with a single zipper there is no way to get this bed together IT DOES NOT FOT CORRECTLY and you can’t zip it up which is why I was asking for instructions. The pillow very small pillow is the only egg crate foam and it’s in chunks.
I emailed on 08/19/ 2026 asking for instructions and about the pillow. The reply was send us pics of the codes on the bed. THERE ARE NO CODE TAGS ON THE BED.
Here I am after spending almost $200 on an orthopedic dog bed that looks like regular foam and can’t be assembled.
The address on the website is in Southern California and I offered to drive over with my bed pieces and they could show me how to assemble it.
I have not heard from Pelsbarn.

I have 3 dogs
I have 3 dogs, all very active and we live in Arizona. They love to cool down and rest on Pelsbarn blankets. We have them in a large dog bed, in house crates and car crates too! No sign of wear and they get washed often. We go hiking off leash and swimming sometimes and they get dirty on a daily basis. I can totally recommend Pelsbarn products!

Great quality Cooling Mats that really work for my Dogs.
Great quality Cooling Mats that really do work and arrived very quickly. I’ve been really worried about our Doggies getting too hot, what with us having so many heatwaves this summer. Our two dogs love them and at night I put one on the bed and they sleep on them all night. They wash really well too. I have two Rescue Dogs so I’m very supportive of helping dogs in need as well as my own which they do. They also included in the package cute Doggie Paw Key rings which I thought was a really lovely touch. Glad to have found them as a Business with great service. Top quality products, great customer service, fair pricing, and if an item I want is on sale that’s even better! My pups love their Pelsbarn harnesses and they are the most comfortable and best made of all the harnesses out there. The harnesses also come with silicone leashes, which handle like leather leashes and don’t cause lease burns on my hands like nylon leashes.They really like their plush car seats, too, which comes with a safety belt that can latch into the seatbelt receiver.
