My sitter was lovely

My sitter was lovely, she came and met us and I liked that she was easy to talk to - which made me feel confident in leaving my fur babies in her hands.
She sent me a photo of my boy while I was away and told me how friendly he was.

Great to find a person who lives in the…

Great to find a person who lives in the same area. Really good to meet the person who is going to look after our cats to establish communication face to face. We found Ash kind, caring and willing to bring in our bins form the local rubbish collection.

Emergency pet sitter

We needed a pet sitter on nye with less than 3hrs notice! Rene and Oscar where life savers. They looked after our dog so well and he loved playing with the other dogs too. We got updates on how he was going and pictures of him playing. Can't fault them at all!

Pawshake is awesome

Pawshake is awesome. I met with two sitters before settling on my chosen sitter.
The insurance coverage is great though I never had to use it (touchwood)
For anyone who stumbled across pawshake like I did during a Christmas emergency and wondered if its a fake site. I can confirm, it is a real service and it saved my butt over Christmas thanks to either Hanrob in Melbourne wanting a kidney for 3 nights or every other boarding in Melbourne being booked out 6 months in advance.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE FOR SITTER

Pawshake does NOT TAKE CARE OF ITS SITTERS!!! I have had a terrible experience with a dog owner who treated me badly which was then escalated to Pawshake team also cause I am a single girl and my security and safety is important. But what ensured was the pawshake team dismissing me and saying that I should have still let the dog owner into my flat even though I felt uncomfortable and my profile was put on hold for the same. It left me feeling shocked, unsafe and sad! HORRIBLE PAWSHAKE, YOU GUYS NEED TO BE HELD RESPONSIBLE AND NEED TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR SITTERS TOO ESPECIALLY IF THEY ARE OPENING THIER HOMES TO OTHERS!!! BE BETTER, ITS HORRIBLE TO TREAT PEOPLE THIS WAY!

Offering home services is optional — if a sitter prefers not to show their home or is not comfortable doing so, the safest option is to remove these services from their profile. Refusing to share the care environment can prevent bookings and may raise concerns for potential clients, as they cannot be expected to leave their pets in an unknown or unverified space.

Please note that Pawshake’s Guarantee will not cover bookings where the sitter hides the care location from clients. Sitters must always provide a verifiable care address to ensure both the pets’ welfare and client trust.

Pawshake encourages all sitters to carefully consider the services they offer, communicate clearly with clients, and always prioritise safety. Following these guidelines protects both sitters and pets, and helps ensure a positive experience for everyone involved.

Refused to help me resolve disputeolve a dispute…

Refused to help me resolve a dispute with sitter. I disagree with their response to me. Stressful experience. Sitters should not have the right to demand more information after meet and greet, and after accepting my booking Dec 5th, confirming my booking and after demanding full nonrefundable payment which I immediately paid in full and after starting Dec 18th to care for my dog in my home in my absence.

Responsible sitters should explain their requirements to the owner before starting a service and should also include this in their profile.
Unfortunately the sitter demanded more information from me Dec 24th- 7 days after starting to care for my dog in my home and pawshake said this was normal timeline for their sitters!!
I will use Rover next time!

We understand that disputes and additional requests during a booking can be frustrating. However, it is essential that pet owners disclose their dog’s vaccination status before a booking begins. This information is crucial for the safety of the sitter, their own pets, and any other animals they may come into contact with.

Discovering during a booking that a dog is unvaccinated — after potentially exposing the sitter, their pets, or their friends and family — is not acceptable and places everyone at unnecessary risk. As an owner, you have a responsibility to provide all relevant information prior to the booking starting, so that the sitter can make informed decisions about care.

Sitters are entitled to request this information at any stage if it has not been provided, and it is reasonable for them to seek clarification or additional details to ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone involved.

We encourage all owners to communicate openly and fully about their pets’ health and needs to avoid misunderstandings or safety risks during a booking.
