Marathon, not a sprint

This group has been very helpful to me. It's an investment to be sure - but success comes at a cost, and this is worth it. If you are looking for a quick fix, then you can search YouTube for free. PES will provide you with that same content, but it also adds value by giving you personal attention from your coach and so many others on the PES staff. If you are treating your entrepreneurial journey as a marathon and not a sprint, then the PES investment will hold you accountable and be very worthwhile.

I joined PES on 5/19/26

I joined PES on 5/19/26. I’ve learned a lot and have my first listing published. Still have lots more to learn. The coaching is great and there are a ton of lessons and coaching including one on ones with my assigned coach. The cost is extremely high so I have to make this work and they are working with me to make it happen.

I have mixed emotions about the PES…

I have mixed emotions about the PES program. I don't feel like I got $ 8,000 worth of value. I have learned a lot. I have a shop up and running, but not yet profitable. I have 6 sales, and it is improving, but my year is nearly gone, and I feel like I was left behind. I have put many hours into this project, 6-8 hours a day, most of the time. The coaching calls, for the most part, have not been productive. I have felt many times that the coach was just putting in time and not really interested in helping me. You keep changing the program, so I spend much of my time trying to find things and catch up. The videos are helpful part of the time, but not always. I have asked questions, but many times have not really gotten the answers that I needed. I really don't like the new "coaching" format. I feel that it is mostly a waste of time. 20 minutes isn't enough to do anything. When I get stuck, I am just referred to someplace else to answer the questions that I don't get the answers to. Could I have gotten this far without your program? No. I would have given up. I am just saying that I don't think the price was worth it. I will continue to work at this and will eventually "get it". My biggest blocks have been getting the mock-ups to work, figuring out shipping costs, and just finding information. The shipping cost is very confusing. I sell physical products that all vary in size and weight. I went to free shipping, but Etsy changed it on all of my listings(not just new listings) before I could adjust the prices, so I lost money on some sales.

Great support and staff is phenomenal

Great support and staff is phenomenal. They strive to create a culture of community and inclusion. I have been with PES for nearly a year and in that time they have created a more diverse program that supports our learning experience. I Can’t say enough good about this program and the people that make it what it is. Cost is a bit high but you do get good individual attention.

Tanner and team ROCKS!

Tanner and team are truly amazing and offer the best support. They are always going above and beyond, over delivering, and make this a true community with so many resources at our fingertips. I have been blown away at the volume of training materials, videos, resource documents, weekly calls, 1:1 support from my coach, and everything else in between!

This is my 2nd year with PES

This is my 2nd year with PES. Like most people I found Makers Gonna Learn while looking for help with a Cricut. Since joining PES I have a new family. Every member helps everyone. This past year I started a business, I've been introduced to programs I didn't know existed like Canva, Everbee, and ChatGPT and I selling a productI created. I've learned what a good design is and how small changes make the difference to your design. There are weekly calls with new information and if you miss a call you can watch the replay from the PES library of previous calls. PES is always evolving. When a program is updated PES reviews the changes and has a class to introduce the new updates. I won't say it's been easy, but I have learned and achieved so much. If you want to build or expand a business this is for you.

Life-Changing Support and Knowledge

The knowledge, encouragement, and support I've gained through Passive Earners Society have truly been life-changing for me. I was at a point where I really needed the extra guidance and community this group provides, and it has exceeded every expectation I had.

Tanner and all of the coaches are incredible. They genuinely care about helping members succeed and consistently go above and beyond to answer questions, provide feedback, and share their expertise.

While the program is definitely an investment, the return I've received has far outweighed the cost. Not only have I gained valuable business knowledge, but I've also gained confidence, direction, and a supportive community that wants to see everyone succeed.

I also appreciate that the program gives me the tools and resources I need to keep moving forward. Like many entrepreneurs, I sometimes get in my own way or don't always take the action I know I should. But whenever that happens, I know I have everything I need to get myself back on track. The training, coaching, and community are all there when I need them.

Because of the value I've received, I signed up for another year without hesitation. One of the things I appreciate most is that the program is constantly evolving and improving. They are always looking for ways to provide more value and stay current with what's working.

I'm grateful to be part of this community and excited to continue growing alongside it.

Support at all Phases of your Etsy Shop

I came into this program expecting something different than what I am getting out of it.

I was laid off from a very lucrative job 3 years ago and based on my age I really struggled to find a company that wanted to hire someone just a couple of years from retirement.

My expectations were that this would be something where I would need to attend some meetings and trainings and someone would be giving me assignments to complete X by a certain date...you know the drill! The same thing that exists in the big corporate world! Well, that's NOT what I found, what I found instead was an organization that is trying to turn out CEOs.

CEOs make their own decisions about their business! It took me a couple of months to make the pivot to CEO minded! But when I did, a lot of things changed for me mentally! I had a fantastic coach who really coached along those lines! You have to show up for YOU, not for THEM! You are NOT accountable to THEM, you are accountable to YOU!

In the past month they have made some changes, I'll be honest, the jury is still out as to what I think of the changes. One change I don't really like is that they are setting up the coaches to be accountability coaches?!?! My worry is that this means it will match my original thought that coaches would be handing out assignments and we need to complete them within a 2-week sprint. I prefer to be only accountable to myself and use the program to support and grow my skills, with support rather than a task list.

There was a total re-vamp of the entire program. I'm excited about the phase direction allowing people to be in a phase where they are at their own pace. Some people will move very slowly through the program, especially if they have normal 9-5 jobs on top of an Etsy store.

Homeroom has some good possibilities if we use it right! I do kind of wish it was more lined up with everyone in more or less the same phase.

And I'm super excited for Scaling!

Edit: I've read the Scaling book and I'm really excited! I have my plan ready to execute! Starting today!

If you are looking for accountability, and training look no further

I have not been in the program long, but it is clear that Tanner and his team have a clear goal to be overperforming and consistently striving to deliver a positive experience to their students. Is it an investment? Yup. A bit of a painful one honestly, but so is college and I'm not using that degree anymore. I was drawn to this program initially from a free training and Tanner's mindset training was exactly what I needed in that moment. And I believe that people enter your life at the exact right moment for a reason, so I am very excited to see where PES+ can take my business over the next year.

I absolutely love this coaching…

I absolutely love this coaching program! The training is top-notch, highly professional, and presented in a way that is easy to understand and implement. I especially appreciate having access to both one-on-one coaching and small group coaching. The support, guidance, and expertise have helped me grow both my knowledge and my business. I highly recommend this program to anyone serious about building a successful Etsy business.

Firehose

Our first thoughts were, "This is like drinking from a firehose." So much relevant and important information. What we learned is the firehose is more manageable if we rewatch the classes and videos. Perseverance. Then having a coach to hold our hand, and challenge us at the same time turned that firehose into a garden hose. Eventually, we believe the information will fill our glass and quench our thirst for success. OY! The metaphors are getting a bit too much. Ha!

Etsy is not a get rich quick side hustle.

I joined 6 months ago, I Have learned so much since joining. I also still have a lot to learn. Your Etsy Shop is still what you put into it, but if you listen to the coaches and make sure you follow their advice you will be able to grow your shop. MGL is always improving their courses and the coaches give you feedback on everything you want feedback on. I wasn't sure at first but the price is worth it. I have joined many groups but MGL is well worth the money. I would recommend this program.

Spendy support but worth it for revving me up

I'm six months into my coaching with PES, and even though my first coach left and I have only a few items in my Etsy shop in all this time, I just signed up for another year of it. It is pricey but it is the accountability that I need. The level of excitement and encouragement is the kind of energy I need and they just made some changes that I think I will really like because it will allow for more interaction with peers and learning from their challenges and questions. To be honest, it wasn't quite as linear and step-by-step as I ended up needing. I was simultaneously following another course/membership that walked me through making printables, specifically, in more digestible chunks and for a lot less cost. Maybe for someone who is more focused and self-motivated, PES wouldn't seem like enough value, but spending the money, one-on-one coaching, and the cheerleading excitement have been the kicks in the pants that I needed.

Not a Quick Fix, But Real Guidance for Etsy Sellers

I joined Passive Earner Society in August 2025 because I needed help setting up my Etsy shop and guidance for growing my handmade business. At the time, I was completely new to Etsy and honestly didn’t really know what direction to go in.

Since joining, PES has helped me with everything from Etsy SEO and listings to branding, product direction, social media guidance, and mindset. One of the biggest things I’ve gained is clarity. I now have a much better understanding of how to build and grow my business intentionally instead of just guessing my way through it.

I’ve created more listings, improved my branding significantly, and most importantly, I’ve started making actual sales. That alone gave me confidence that I’m moving in the right direction.

What I appreciate most is the coaching. The coaches are incredibly supportive, honest, and encouraging. I clicked with my coach immediately, and they’ve been great about meeting me where I’m at — especially during the moments when I get in my own head or start getting in my own way.

I will say the investment is expensive, so I think it’s important to go into it understanding that this is not a “get rich quick” situation. Building a real business from the ground up takes time, consistency, and work. PES gives you the tools, structure, support, and guidance, but you still have to be willing to put in the effort yourself.

I would absolutely recommend PES to Etsy sellers who want more structure, support, and direction — especially if you’re willing to put in the work and stay committed to the process. The rewards don’t happen overnight, but if you stay consistent, you really can see the benefits over time.

I had been apart of MGL for a long time…

I had been apart of MGL for a long time and knew of the Etsy Effect but had no knowledge of the cost of PES until I finally figured oh what the heck I'll take the call from one of the gals and investigate. I was use to making items and giving them away for years & my hubby suggested how about I make things to actually "Sell". I have lots of fabric, 2 rooms actually. I wasn't looking to replace my income I was looking to get rid of some of my fabric by making items and the money would go to my grandchildren for their college education. When I heard how much it cost to get into PES I about died. My hubby was listening in on the call. He asked me who we were saving our retirement money for...US or others after we are dead. So I bought into PES and the 1st beach retreat. The staff and coaches are great. My first coach I had for a short time, the 2nd one for an even shorter time. I was beginning to think it was me. I was a bit upset that people were changing on me but I do love my 3rd coach. She is very supportive and appears very knowledgable. Unfortunately I have had a number of family issues pop up that have hendered my progression. That's not PES's fault. It's not my fault it's just life. All of it has taken some of my creativity away for a time. I doubt that I will ever get the full value of the money I have put into the program. It really is a lot. I am signed up for another year but I can not afford to spend anymore. I feel quilty spending our retirement dollars on this when we could be going to Ireland (that's my hubby's latest thinking). I do like the new phases they have come up with, although I mentioned them to my hubby and the timing of them and his comment was so if you watch all of those and your coaching calls and do your designing times and sew....when will you have time for ME? It really is a big comittment. I also do have problems finding things in the program like the action plan for me and have to ask my coach where it is. I feel pretty stupid when I've looked everywhere for different items and can't seem to find it. Guess that's just the difference between my older brain and the younger gals who can do things much faster. I love the group community. Wonderful group of men and women.

Love my 1:1 Coach

Love my 1:1 Coach! Overall very happy with the program, especially new structure with Phases. Would like to see a bit more for physical products sellers as it seems heavy on digital download or print on demand. On occasion Coaches contradict each other which causes frustration and confusion.

I have really loved beinThe Coaching Made All the Differenceg part of…

I have really loved being part of Passive Earner Society. The videos and resources are super helpful, but the coaching has been the biggest game changer for me.

Having one-on-one time with a coach helped me get clearer on what I should actually be focusing on and what will move the needle in my business. There is so much advice out there, and a lot of it contradicts itself, so having guidance that is specific to my goals has made a huge difference.

I feel more focused, more confident, and more excited about building my business.

Over-Delivering Again!

My experience with PES has been life-changing. I really needed more help than just starting an Etsy business. I need all the mind-set trainings to help get over some really bad past issues.

The group is very supportive. The coaches are all top-notch. The overall structure recently changed and it's taking a little effort to re-learn where things are. Tanner and his team really strive to get to know you and where to best meet your needs.

The team is constantly over-delivering beyond my expectations. There is quite an investment that I put out to be a member, but that investment is one of the best decisions I've made.

If you need good steps to get your etsy shop open this is a good place to start.

I've worked with two coaches on this journey and I'm thankful that I've clicked with both of them.

When I joined PES I was 12 months out from being let go from my job with a company that I was at for just short of 28 years. To say that I was shocked when that happened is an understatement. Even though money was very tight, we decided to go ahead and take the plunge.

I was able to get my shop started and had a couple sales. My niche at the time was sarcasm, and while sarcasm is still part of what I do I've drifted into neurodivergence and books leaning into dark romance and romantasy. Karrie works with me biweekly to help me continue to streamline things so that I can still work efficiently now that I'm back in corporate america.

Even when not in corporate america getting to the coaching calls was a challenge for me as they are at 9 am, now that I'm at my full time job I have to find time watch the replay and with the revamp of the site, I have no idea where to find them.

Overall I've been happy with support I've gotten. Has it been worth the investment? Not completely.

I should also add there is a huge amount of emphasis put on using AI to help. Do you have to use AI in the program, no but it seems to be successful in the program you need to embrace using it for many of the steps of the process. Have I used AI, yes. Am I using it all the time, no. I'm trying to be as judicious as I can when engaging with it because of how horrible AI data centers are for communities and our environment.

Will I continue when my year is over, I'm not sure.
