Absolutely horrendous experience. If you’re a small business owner I would not use their services. The communication greatly lacked. The work that we agreed they would do, never got done. They charged $2000 a month to do bookeeping that can be done for around $300-500 a month. It was definitely a traumatic experience for our business.

This concept, in total, is fantastic as an opportunity for CPAs to take on fractional work and work with a range of companies.
The communication from the corporate entity is very poor to nonexistent most of the time, yet they charge a very high markup, so it is not justified given the lack of effort.
Further, when dealing with highly educated professionals, a bit of respect goes a long way. This is common when working with other organizations, but Paro seems to struggle here. A lot of their internal staff is relatively young and have not had a chance to fine-tune their professional skills, and it shows.
CPAs and financial professionals would be advised to shop around and look at other opportunities. There's a major accountant shortage.

The company came up with a scope of work that would cover my book keeping, payroll and end of month financial review. I paid over $800 a month for 3 months and never could get them to do my payroll or get a financial review. Now after 2 months of trying to terminate my contract and absolutely no work received, they are still billing me. You can not contact anyone out side of their sales team. Try it. Call their number and press 2 for support. For 2 months no one has picked up that line. I have put in 5 urgent phone calls to their sells line (they pick up every time) with no return phone call.
This company is a scam.

Paro is a great company to work with, they are supportive and working to assist all parties involved in the partnership.

I would not work with Paro as the accounting talent or the business. They only care about making 50% or more on your hourly rate while providing no support for their talent.
I have an active contract through 8/31/23 & today Paro took it upon themselves to end the engagement because Renee “doesn’t have time & has 70 other clients to worry about.”
Both the client & Paro agreed my work was satisfactory. For the past month + Paro allowed the client to cut my project short 30 days & then 45 days without my consent despite our signed contract going to 8/31. Over the past 30 days Paro has strained the relationship between myself & the client. Instead of figuring out a solution for both parties Renee, without the consent of the client or myself illegally ended the engagement.

Easy to find freelance gigs. I wouldn’t have grown my business without them.

PARO is a one of if not the best platforms that put professionals and business together. They work with both the clients and service providers to ensure everyone's expectations are met. I have no hesitation in recommending them to any expert or business that needs account, tax and CFO services.

I started with Paro in 2020. I am still working with clients I took on when I first began, as well as several since then. I have steady work with great people. I call Paro my "back office," as they are literally my marketing, sales, customer service, and administrative team all in one. I am grateful for having Paro as a way to meet and support companies across the United States with their bookkeeping needs.

I was matched pretty much instantly upon joining the Paro platform with a firm that matched what I was looking for nearly 100%. I was very please at how quickly and efficiently I was matched to a position that fit what I wanted. I am now on my 3rd contract with Paro, with the same firm, signing 6 month contracts in succession. With the help of Paro I am able to negotiate with the Firm what I want, and it feels good to take control back from these large firms who, in the past, I often felt taken advantage of. Being a contractor has given me the flexibility to work remotely and on my own terms, something I was not able to accomplish as an auditor working for big 4 firms. I have really enjoyed having the flexibility to make my own schedule, my own pay rate, and my own hours.

For the most part, the experience has been great. Joshua Dominguez has been great to work with.
However, I have repeatedly requested to update the email in my profile (it does not allow me to do it) yet it has not been done. Some people never respond to questions.

The company provides plenty of support upfront in both project sourcing and onboarding.

Paro.io is an easy way to access the remote world of accounting. The experts there match your skills with potential contract opportunities and give you access to a wide variety of firms to improve your accounting skill set. Whether you are just interested in seeing what is out there or looking to get out of the 9-5 grind, Paro.io is a great resource.

The network is effective in assisting with supplementing an existing book of business, or even as a primary source of business if freelancing. My only recommendations for process improvement would be a more visible resource for freelancers if they have administrative issues or questions. On more than one occasion I've had a difficult time finding personnel that can assist with administrative issues such as inquiring about a non-receipt of a 1099, Paro's EIN, underpayment, etc. Additionally, I find that I sometimes have two or even three separate individuals/departments asking the same questions about the status of projects, as though internal communication needs improvement. For example, if an open project has fewer hours in a given month than usual, on more than one occasion I've received an email from an individual or department asking for an explanation, which I then provide, followed by yet another department or individual asking the very same question, and even possibly a third individual/department. I have begun simply forwarding the initial correspondence to the subsequent inquiries for which I previously took the time to document. This is indicative of internal siloing.

I've been with Paro for 4 years and absolutely love the company! I opened my bookkeeping business 5 years before joining Paro and can say that Paro has definitely helped me to grow my business in a way that no other marketing firm could have. I highly recommend the network to other CPAs and bookkeepers!

Almost immediately after signing the SOW information arose and I needed to dissolve the SOW. It's private, but it's certainly a circumstance that should have been respected.
Instead of voiding the contract after hearing of this, they're holding my company to it and 60 additional days of service.
I would go as far as to call it inhumane "support".
The CPA accidentally deleted a document on call, everything was rushed, just a terrible experience with this company.

I am an experienced venture capitalist and technology entrepreneur, having built and sold 3 tech startups and invested in more than 100 startups over the past 20 years.
My holding company hired Paro to find us a bookkeeping company for our business to perform cleanup work for prior periods and to conduct ongoing bookkeeping services for several of our holding companies, which have very little activity, most months actually have no activity at all, as they're merely holding companies.
After an extensive review of our bank statements from the prior years, including but not limited to reviewing the total aggregate number of line items for the bank statements of our entities, based on an extensive review of our bank statements we were then provided an estimate range of hours for the cleanup work and a range of hours for the ongoing bookkeeping services.
Paro introduced us to a bookkeeping "expert" that agreed to complete the cleanup services for between 10-15 hours at an hourly rate of $120, which at most, the invoice should have been $1,800.
Unfortunately, the bookkeeping expert invoiced us a total of 36 hours for the cleanup work or $4,320.
The invoice was $2,520 to $3,120 higher than the provided contract value that we signed (10 - 15 hours at $120 per hour).
When we complained for the over billing, Paro only offered us a $400 credit, and when we pushed back on their credit, they only increased the credit offer to $700. We attempted to compromise and asked for a $1,000 credit, and Paro would not agree so we parted ways.
We only hired Paro to find a trusted bookkeeping expert to prevent issues like this, and when this issue occurred, Paro did not stand behind us, but rather, they stood behind the vendor, not the customer. There is clearly a conflict of interest issue with Paro, as this bookkeeping expert / vendor works with Paro for a number of other customers and they clearly didn't want to disrupt their relationship with the vendor versus standing behind us as a new customer. Plus, after the cleanup work was completed, there was very little revenue opportunity with our account, since our monthly bookkeeping hours were only 5-10 hours at $99 moving forward.
Even once we explained that we wished to discontinue our services, and we requested that they contact the vendor to obtain all of our financial records and to send them to us, they instructed us to contact the vendor directly to obtain our records.
We believe Paro acted unethically and in their own self interest, with a clear conflict of interest, and we'd highly recommend anyone else to find a different service if you're seeking outsourced bookkeeping services.

I would steer clear of Paro. They didn’t deliver services, wouldn’t file our corporate taxes on time, charged us for services not rendered. We contested our invoice with them multiple times with multiple parties and instead of acknowledging that we need to have a conversation just charged us anyway. We are now having our books from 2022 audited and are discussing filing a law suite with our legal team as well as pursuing accounting malpractice.

Paro’s platform is top notch. The software, systems, and personnel are professional and effective at matching businesses with professionals and this is the best platform I have ever worked with. Highly recommend to both businesses and contracting professionals!
