Old and dingy garage with a friendly attendant

Mark’s garage is very old and dingy with a strange layout and very small parking spaces. It also does not have an elevator and two few handicap stalls are available. On the plus side, the attendant was extremely friendly and personable and treated every customer with kindness and cheerfulness. so, it’s one or two stars for the facility and five stars for the attendant. Also, I’m not sure where I paid $10.75 when the charge was supposed to be $10 even. I just noticed that when reviewing my credit card statement, and will possibly inquire .

Humans help

The experience of parking in the Marks Garage for an event at the Hawaii Theatre was made bearable by the actual live human (very patient and gracious gentleman) who facilitated both the ingress and egress processes.

your signs lie about the price.

Your greeter was excellent and explained your system very well. We like the new automated system. It is wrong of you to say the parking is $10 then charge 7.5% extra as some sort of fee. That is called lying. The parking charge is 10.75.

The convenience of the new credit card…

The convenience of the new credit card parking App is ideal for no money exchange and ease of e-receipt provided and simply entering the 3-digit code is good service app for "Normal departure".

However, the major issue we had with our recent experience on December 1st was when we were trying to exit the garage after the Margaret Cho performance at the Hawaii Theatre.
Well, we were parked on the 2nd floor and yet it took the nearly 30-minute of being Stuck in a TRAFFIC JAM to exit the garage caused by the disorganized chaos was very undesirable experience after an evening of fun entertainment!! The Chaos caused by discourteous, impatient drivers who were making their own paths, to cut in line and cut off other drivers was appalling and totally out of control.

I believe your parking system needs to be seriously re-addressed for this purpose of large events exiting.
There is only ONE exit out and ONE driveway to go down that feeds from the upper floor levels of the garage that tries to (rudely & aggressively) merges and ends up bottlenecking on each lower floors. Part of the problem here is the EXIT gate is activated only by entering the 3 digit code that was provided by the attendant (very, very pleasant & nice person) but who was at the gate assisting each car as car approaches with the code. WAY TOO SLOW and Time Consuming. NOT an efficient EXIT system. Many aggravated drivers as cars were cutting off cars, driving erratically, making their own paths cutting across the parking spaces and cutting in line and NO courtesy or Aloha!!

Parking attendant was most helpful

Parking attendant was most helpful. It would be better to go back to paying directly with credit card instead of via a QR code. Technology is good, but not for everyone. Installing an elevator would be a good thing and significantly handicap friendly. There should be at least a second stairwell to access upper floors.

Waiting to enter and exit.

The line to enter the parking was only exceeded by the line to exit. It would have been faster to have someone simply collect the $10.

Should not be used during events.

There aren’t any elevators!!

There aren’t any elevators!!! Also, I could not get into the pedestrian gate and had to call the assistant twice. It was clear that she was
not trained properly and didn’t know what to do. The second time I called she hung up before making sure the door was unlocked. I was charged $8.90 for about an hour. At least 10
minutes of which was wasted trying to get through the locked gate. You need better training. Nerver going to park there again.

This new system is a complete disaster

This new system is a complete disaster. The whole thing is supposed to be mobile friendly, but it doesn't take mobile payments (e.g. Google Pay) and you can't use your phone's ability to wirelessly pay by credit card.

And unless you have the Parking.com app pre-installed, you have to text a code to a new ph# while holding up traffic both to get in and out of the parking lot.

So we used to have a stupid paper ticket and a person waiting at the exit gate to take the payment.

Now, we have to have a person waiting at the entrance to walk you through tech support and then another person to walk you through more tech support to exit.

This might be great for daily parking customers with the app that do it day in and day out. But for casual parking customers, it's the worst experience ever.
