I had to come back to Peugeot

I have come back to Peugeot as I love the cars and had such an amazing experience first time around with the now Sales Manager, Dan. Ola was patient and helpful and I couldn’t be happier with my lovely 3008!

Palmers Citroen Watford Farce. .

Today as requested by mail and confirmed over the phone. I took my Motability car to Palmers Watford for their requested service. Only to be told it is too early! But Palmers contacted me and confirmed by phone but the irritated man in service wanted to have one up on me by berating me saying” I should know when the service is due as I drive it so would be obvious” it is a 45 minute each way drive to Watford but he was not interested in my wasted time, fuel and earlystart to be there by 8am again requested. I have a Motoability car because I’m disabled and things aren’t easy but I do not need to be treated like a child and sent away as though it was my fault. It certainly was not. The Palmers group take great pride in advertising how long they have been in business and how they have superior customer service. Today proved what utter contempt they show and “ Motability won’t pay us so you will have to come back again” But Palmers contacted me and confirmed everything. I feel abused and distressed by their actions and hope that no one else receives such negativity. Palmers Watford, well done you NOT! But I guess Mr Grumpy is very pleased with himself.

Great experience !

I had a great experience getting my car thanks to Ola. I wasn’t sure what I was looking for at first, but Ola took the time to understand what I needed and guided me through the options without any pressure at all. It was so nice to deal with someone who genuinely wanted to help rather than just make a sale. In the end, he helped me find exactly what I wanted within my price range. Thank you so much!

Highly recommended!

Palmers in watford were absolutely great, Friendly service and welcoming.

Help from Sales rep Matthew Hipkin, whom I would highly recommend, was amazing at walking me through features of the car I wanted and explaining anything I was unsure about which helped me find a car best suited to me.

Tried to charge me £147 to change a…

Tried to charge me £147 to change a dash board light bulb (which costs less than £4). Queried this extorionate cost and it was reduced by 50%. Still too much! The work was marked as 'urgent' (even though I had pointed out it needed changing). I have not been left with a feeling of trust so walked away. Would not recommend.

Palmers 5* Garage

After both my father and auntie recommended Palmers, we visited to look for a family car (MG). My husband, our two children, and I asked to deal with Toby. Although he doesn’t usually handle this brand, he was incredibly accommodating.

I was quite apprehensive due to past negative experiences with car garages, but Toby completely changed that. He was honest, approachable, professional, and genuinely understanding. There was no pressure at all, and he really went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable and supported throughout the process.

An excellent experience from start to finish. I would highly recommend Palmers and especially Toby to anyone looking to buy a car.

Appallingly unprofessional Management and misrepresented car price

Spent 3 days deliberating over cash purchase of a car.
Priced at 12,249.
Booked test drive and this went very well and loved the car.
Intended to purchase, but they had advertised the incorrect price in the car and then would not honor it.
The employee who took test drive with me was very helpful and highly professional, so this is no reflection on them.
They honestly should be the manager of this branch and perhaps customer experience might improve.

Has really put me off ever buying Fiat again and I will submit a complaint to head office about the management at this branch.
However, I feel it will just fall into the abyss and further waste my time.

Dominic was excellent from start to finish, really helpful without being pushy! Made our whole buying experience a pleasure and stress free. The big reveal is a lovely added surprise.

Palmers general manager

I have received a response from the general manager of Palmer. He confirmed that even though the vehicle was within the warranty period, the repair would not be covered. This contradicts the information provided at the time of purchase. As a goodwill gesture, the general manager offered a minor service.

In conclusion, if you require peace of mind and the assurance that your vehicle will be repaired within the warranty period, I would advise against purchasing from Palmer. The goodwill offered during the purchase process is not a guarantee of future service. The company’s primary interest is profit and it is unlikely to maintain a business relationship that would encourage repeat purchases. They may have taken £708 from me but have lost my business and thousands of pounds of future sales. Don’t make the mistake I did.

Don’t waste your time and money, you will regret it !!!

Avoid this garage at all cost
I purchased a vehicle from Palmer Watford. The car was emitting excessive oil, so I returned to the garage within the warranty period to have this issue resolved. They informed me that there was no fault with the vehicle. I subsequently had an independent inspection conducted which revealed oil in the coolant. I returned to the garage and they discovered a chemical reaction had occurred which they have yet to explain. After keeping the car for four weeks, I returned yesterday to collect it. I paid the £708 bill despite the vehicle being under warranty when I raised the issue. Upon entering the car, I discovered the ventilation system was non-functional. Upon returning inside to inform them of this, they stated they were unaware of the problem and would incur an additional £220 to investigate.
The car’s heating and ventilation system was functioning correctly as I always drive with the system running on 2 or 3 when the weather is cold. Palmer’s Watford is a dishonest garage and I urge others to avoid them.
After reading the other comments, I fully agree particularly with the point about their lack of telephone response. I was in the showroom last week enquiring about my repair as they would not answer the phone. I found two people at the front desk both in front of computers with the phone ringing in the background and no attempt to answer it.
I used to deal with a particular sales assistant, whose name I will not disclose to avoid embarrassment. I purchased several cars from him but was disgusted with the way he treated me when I called him to discuss my vehicle. He shouted down the phone and then slammed the phone handset down. While they are all polite and willing to assist during the car purchase process, they are not interested in resolving issues or providing after-sales service once the sale is complete.

The sales assistant made an inappropriate comment to me stating, ‘I did not put my hand in your pocket to take your money out’. I have written to the head office to investigate this matter but have yet to receive a response. The calls are recorded so the conversation should be easily located.
If you wish to avoid a similar experience in the future I would advise you to consider other options. You risk becoming a sales statistic rather than a valued customer. I learned this lesson the hard way and would encourage you to avoid making the same mistake.
