Our daughter had a great experience studying for an IGCSE with Oxford Home Schooling. Her tutor was very attentive to her needs and went over and above to support her right up until the point of exam. Very professional service. The admin team are fast to come back to you with responses to any questions, would definitely recommend.

It was an overall great experience
It was an overall great experience. Some teachers are excellent in communications and have given us extremely good feedback, on the other hand some teachers are not as involved as others but overall its a good form of schooling.

Really impressed with the structure and time the tutors give there is a lot of independent testing and learning so you need to be totally committed yourself with your child but there is always someone there to support and the course material is well laid out and my daughter is so much happier and relaxed meaning she is achieving much higher grades couldn’t recommend enough!

Daughter home educating alongside ballet
My daughter is in year 9 and has just opted to home educate to facilitate her demanding ballet training. We could not be happier with our start with Oxford online learning, you are very supportive. The online content is really clear and the tutors really helpful.

The module contents are good and cover…
The module contents are good and cover quite a wide range of learning areas in the subject (GCSE Psychology). I would say you have an even better experience of study if you have a very good tutor. The tutors are good, some better than some in my view. Nevertheless we are happy with ours.
One who will regularly reach out and keep good eye on how things are going. Also who is willing to give a bit more of their time. I have had 3 tutors in different times and note differences in their approach and time giving. At the same time, you do have to ensure your child is getting the work done. Oxford would be even better if they somehow gave online tutorials for each subject once or twice a week for perhaps 40 mins or so . Most importantly, my child does enjoy it. The subject is very interesting & engaging. If anyone is doing PHSE (KS3) , these are also really good lessons.

Top marks for OHS
I've used Oxford Home Schooling as the foundation for my home-education for over ten years now. Through the folders I've been able to ensure my children have covered the GCSE/iGCSE syllabi before taking exams, and the tutors (who I've consistently found to be excellent) provided professional feedback we've needed to assess progress and improve work.
I've found OHS to be the best value for money and am happy their folders are printed on paper. I have deep concerns about the online secondary 'schools' which have popped up since the Pandemic where children are dumped in front of a computer for hours/days/months/years and left to get on with it. Some OHS folders refer to online resources and tutors have provided us with links to online clips when useful, but I don't believe teenagers can sit for several hours on a computer every day and attain a holistic, balanced education that will prepare them for adulthood (rant over).
Whilst my children have done very well in the exams they took after studying with OHS (this summer my daughter got 9,9 in iGCSE Double Science, for example), I feel I should explain that my input has been required - especially when revising for exams. My children have needed the OHS folders to direct their studies, they've really needed the tutor support/feedback, but I've always been in the background to give them my support - which is (in my book) part and parcel of home-education!
Another advantage of using OHS (and home-education) is that my children have learned to manage their time and work independently, which has paid dividends at college/uni/in work.
Finally, I have found there are huge advantages in home-educating for children with special needs (some of my children have dyslexia/dysgraphia/dyscalculia). OHS have always taken my children's needs into account and have provided sympathetic, flexible, understanding tutors - in some cases the tutors also have dyslexia/dyscalculia which was incredibly motivational for my children. I felt we were understood by OHS and they worked with and around any additional needs my children had.
To surmise; I highly recommend OHS to any parent who has a relaxed yet semi-structured home-education philosophy and who wants their children to do GCSEs/iGCSEs.

They helped me more than just educationally
My tutors were all very supportive, always there to lend a hand and taught in a way that was catered to the way I learn. My English tutor Anne Thomas was particularly good, anybody who ends up with Miss Thomas is very lucky! All assignment feedback was detailed and enabled me to improve massively. OHS allowed me to work at my own pace, in my own time, it gave me the freedom to explore different areas of learning and find what worked best for me. I truly excelled throughout my time with oxford home learning in a way I was never able to in mainstream. When I left mainstream my predicted grades in the subjects, I took were C,C,D,D the grades I achieved with OHS were A*, A*, B, C.... My mainstream school never saw my potential nor catered to my needs, OHS saw my potential, continuously reminded me of my potential and catered to my needs which is what allowed me to excel. Following my GCSE’s, I attended college and I now have got into every university I applied for. I look forward to continuing my educational journey and I hold a huge amount of gratitude for OHS for the help they gave me, not just educationally but mentally. Whilst there is a cost in place for oxford home learning, the cost is minute in comparison to the journey it has allowed me to take, sometimes a tutor seeing your potential is all it takes. I had lost all love for English and particularly creative writing as I went into my teen years, it was something I loved so much as child but studying it academically removed everything I enjoyed from it. Miss Thomas gave me my love for writing back and almost 2 years later I am still writing and reading in my spare time. Oxford open learning care truly for each student, not just the grades they achieve. I really cannot recommend oxford home learning enough, they gave me so much more than an education, they gave me my love for learning back and confidence in my academic ability.

A great way to home educate.
I chose to use Oxford Home Schooling for my 15 year old daughter, to complete her GCSE courses from home. From the beginning, the process and courses were clearly explained, and I have always been able to speak to the person supporting us, whenever I have had questions.
The tutors allocated to my daughter for her different subjects, are all very experienced and have been in contact with her to check on how she's doing, and give feedback on her assignments.
The structure of the programme allows my daughter the flexibility she wanted, to work when she is most focused, and also the independence she needed.
I would definitely recommend Oxford to any parents looking to home educate.
