I came across Overlandico toppers on social media while researching aluminum truck caps to replace my fiberglass A.R.E. topper. I was initially attracted to Overlandico because they seemed to offer the same quality and look of the more expensive toppers but at a much more budget friendly price. I was also cautious because they are a number of knock offs out there and I was hoping this was not one of those.
At the time of my research, Overlandico did not have a fully built website, but they did offer some information on their toppers which I found to be pretty useful. They also had a contact phone number to which I gave a cold call. I was pleased that somebody answered, which is when I met Alix at Overlandico who kindly answered any questions I had and put any skepticisms of the product that I had aside.
Within about three weeks or so a shipment of toppers had made it to Alix and I was ready to purchase.
Overlandico is based in the suburbs of Denver and I made the few hours drive from New Mexico to get my topper, which was well worth the drive. I met Alex’s business partner Pasha at their garage, where the topper was already fully assembled and ready to be installed.
The great part about my experience. Is that Pasha professionally installed the topper using seals and high-quality clamps specifically made for Tacomas that came in the topper kit. The topper also came with keys for locks that are on the glass window openings and a free LED light kit with a switch, which I will get around to installing myself soon.
The topper itself is really great quality. I have no experience with the more expensive aluminum toppers so I can’t provide a frame of reference but what I purchased is solid. A recent rain exposed a small leak in the topper, but some black silicone handled that fairly easy. I prefer this topper to my old fiberglass one for a couple reasons: It is lighter and much more sleeker looking. I’ve received a ton of compliments on the topper since I have had it and my dogs love it, especially the sliding windows on the side.
Alix was really responsive to text and phone calls, providing updates on shipments and answering any questions about the product itself. My in person experience with Pasha was also great. He was really professional, and the install was quick, around an half hour, easy and greatly appreciated.
Overall, I am satisfied with the product so far and I am even more satisfied with the customer service that Alix and Pasha provided me. I would highly recommend considering Overlandico toppers as a viable alternative to the more pricier ones. This topper meets all my needs and more.
