Great pre-work online to understand our needs and design a system to suit (2 x inverters AC coupled battery to work with our Zappi EV charger).

Sam called in a few weeks prior to the install for final checks to make sure the installation went smoothly.

Equipment has been installed with attention to detail by workmen who take pride in their trade. Highly professional approach with some items other installers consider optional (scaffolding, bird protection) are all in as part of the job.

Good support and follow-up to any questions as we get to know the system, but even in the dark North Pennine winter, the solar panels are already making energy and the battery is charging up overnight to keep us in cheap electricity through the day.

Attentive staff from day one. Installation very thorough and carefully thought out - no corners cut. Solar edge inverter and Myenergi Eddi work seamlessly with the Zappi EV charger.

Sam has helped me with Nest product installations and general electrical work, and more recently installed solar panels and battery system. The team is knowledgeable, takes pride in their work, and takes time to explain what they are doing and why. They are polite to neighbours (even giving one neighbour flowers when they had to park outside their house for a short period of time!) The work was completed on time and to a high quality. All the team are enthusiastic about renewable products and I'd happily recommend them.

Sam and Dean did a fantastic install of our system and we are really pleased with how well it is working and how tidy it looks. They were very careful when surveying and specifying the system so that it would properly use our roof space and meet our needs. Oval Renewables are a brilliant company to work with.

We waited some time for Sam and his team to visit for a site inspection. They have been quite busy but will not sub contract. Once inspection done, date set for install the following week. Sam and his team arrived on time and set to work. Our install was not difficult and the prep work had all been done. Clean and tidy workmanship and all work explained. The equipment is quality and fitted well. Only took two full days and we were up and running. The Solar Edge software is simple but impressive. Nice to see that Sam takes pride in his work, keeping the quality up rather than taking on more jobs than he can cope with. Also nice to see he recruits local electricians to give him a hand when short staffed giving them some experience of solar installations.

Sam and the whole team have been brilliant throughout the installation of first a charging point and subsequently a 4kWp solar system with 10kWh battery. During the site visit, Sam's knowledge of all the different options was very helpful. Communication throughout the whole process has been excellent and the work was completed to a high standard. We had an issue with the battery (not Oval's fault!) which was efficiently sorted without any fuss. Overall, we're very happy with both the system and the service and I've already recommended you to others!

Oval Renewables have recently installed a superb system for me - 5kw solar panels, 11kw battery and EV charger. They have been really good to work with all the way through the process. From specifying the system that I wanted, liaising with the DNO, scheduling the work and eventually doing the work Oval Renewables have been amazing. They were easy to contact on the phone and by email and the email responses were incredibly quick. Nothing was too much trouble. Sam and Dean were great to have around the house doing the installation. Good chat, good humour, knowledgeable and very professional.

Following recent general concerns about global warming and price hikes in the cost of domestic energy my husband an I decided we would investigate installing a solar panels with battery back up on our house.
We researched solar energy on various Internet sites and YouTube for advice and help and then contacted individual installers.
Jessica of Oval Renewables provided us with a very comprehensive and detailed proposal of a system for our property using Solar Edge inverter and battery. We then asked Sam to survey the house to ensure that our roof was suitable and the location for the battery appropriate. Sam was very pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable answering all questions asked. I asked about the Tesla Wall system as an alternative battery as, at that time, it seemed the only system available that could provide electricity during a power cut. Jessica provided a further quote which included the Tesla system as an alternative to Solar Edge.
After consideration my husband and I decided that we would not go down the solar route as the cost outweighed any benefit for ourselves at our stage in life.
Throughout this process Oval Renewables were extremely professional and had we decided to have solar installed we would most certainly have used their company.

Sam and his team provided an excellent service both before and during installation. Communication was excellent even when they are busy. We are delighted by the quality and standard of the installation, and feel confident we will be able to contact them in future for any queries that may arise.

Sam and his crew installed a Sonnen battery at our property. The team were all really nice and worked hard to get it all installed in a day.

The installation was in a visible location in the property, so it was important for us that everything was done tidily, they put extra effort in to make sure wires and trunking were as hidden as possible.

We've had a couple of follow-up questions and Jessica has been helpful in trying to get these sorted for us. Overall we've been really pleased with the service and would definitely recommend them.

Had a MyEnergi Eddi installed to work alongside my existing Solar Panels and a recent Air Source Heat Pump installation.
The work by Sam and Dean was carried out to a very professional level, taking great care with the existing set-up.

Excellent install

Had a ground fault on my 4kw ground mounted solar PV. System was 10 years old but badly installed by previous owner and DC cables had been eaten by something. Sam replaced the cables with better protection so that this problem would not happen again. Excellent work from a good guy at the right price. What more do you want? -recommended.

Very quick to price and get to site to do the work. Sam and his mate were very friendly and carried out the work in a timely manner for the price agreed. Always following covid rules.

We picked Oval from a list on the nest approved fitters web site not sure what to expect. We were thoroughly impressed. They were very knowledgeable clean tidy polite and efficient. They organised their work to suit our availability and were very happy to work around us. They gave us very clear concise and understandable training in how to use the thermostat We had an issue with the hardware and they bent over backwards to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Strongly recommend them

Sam and Ollie installed a Sonnen 7.5 KW battery system for me just before Christmas. The installation was neat and tidy with Sam even finding an issue with the original PV wiring in the fuse box which he corrected for me.
Unfortunately, the ‘computer’ part of the battery installation was indicating an incorrect reading for my PV system (compared with the inverter output) and house usage (compared with my smart meter monitor). Sam attempted to resolve the issue remotely whilst on holiday with the aid of Sonnen but was unable to do so. When he visited he found that the CT clamp that measured the solar output had been incorrectly wired up during manufacturing and by reversing the clamp and resetting the computer the correct readings were being recorded.
The battery is now fully operational and on a couple of days it has charged up to 1kWh. I don’t think that’s bad considering there are 3 people in the house full time at the moment and we don’t get much direct sunlight on the solar panels at this time of year. I’m looking forward to the longer sunnier days to see how much the battery saves me.
I’m very impressed with Sam and his commitment to getting the issues sorted.
I would certainly recommend Oval for any electrical work you have planned.

The team from Oval installed a EVSE charger as part of the PowerShaper project.
I was very impressed with everything about eh installation. It was done professionally and carefully, with due consideration of the lockdown, measures. The team were friendly, self contained and hugely knowledgeable. Everything worked as intended and my garage was left in at least as good a state as when they started.

I will be happy to use them for my next project (probably battery storage)

Sam and Ollie spent the past couple of days installing a pair of Sonnen batteries for me. I can only congratulate them on their work: good humoured, efficient, personable and well-informed. What more could you ask for?

Really enjoyed the conversations about the energy transition and the move to the smart world in which we find ourselves.

In June 2020 I employed Oval Renewables to install all the electrical equipment needed to commission and control a new air-source heat-pump/gas boiler hybrid heating system at my home in Selby.
The work was well planned and organised, it was executed efficiently and skillfully, and started and completed on schedule. The firm's director, Sam Featherstone, and his apprentice showed resourcefulness and determination in solving problems arising out of the new technology, Both men were respectful and courteous while working in our home.
Sam provided a detailed quotation and invoice in a professional manner and demonstrated dependability throughout.
