eBay purchase nightmare

I purchased an item from Outlet prices direct on eBay. It arrived late (7 days to deliver) and it was dead on arrival (rattling and would not power on).

Despite being listed as 'New & Sealed' on eBay, the box was also not sealed and there were cables loose in box. It also looked like the remote had been previously opened and then re-sealed.

On notification of return, the seller implied I was fraudulent(!) and has been incredibly unpleasant, arrogant, and increasingly abusive.

I have filed a report against them on eBay.

I would strongly advise you to avoid them like the plague!

UPDATE POST RESPONSE:
I see Outlet prices direct have responded. What a load. About normal for their responses to negative reviews so far as I can see from other reviews on here. They would appear to always be in the right if you believe them.

Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere for your purchase. Don't make the mistake of buying from these arrogant cowboys.

UPDATE 2:
Having read my response, they have now added that they have filed an eBay report against me. To be clear, I will not be intimidated. This will end up in the courts if they continue to threaten and harass me.

UPDATE 3:
These fools are hilarious. Every time you respond to their lies, they add more :) And the funniest thing is that they accuse customers of being 'threatening' when we share our stories of how bad they are.

Apparently asking for your refund to be processed as soon as they get their dodgy goods back is 'threatening' and 'an attempt to make them change their company policy'! I can only assume their company policy is to avoid making refunds.

Really, just read their responses to all their negative reviews - it tells you everything you need to know about this outfit. Zero customer service apparently . If it goes wrong it's going to be a nightmare. Eyes open people, and buy somewhere else!

UPDATE 4:
I would like to note that this review was flagged by Outlet Prices Direct as containing 'Harmful or Illegal' content. This is the only way they can force TrustPilot to take down the review, at least in the short term. Yet again, what are they hiding from? How many others reviews have been silenced?

All this for wanting a swift refund of an item delivered late and broken...

Good evening,

I have looked into your case.
Our customer service representative Adrian started off by apologising for the issues you faced.
Starting by stating that the item was delayed by Royal mail, This was not dispatched late as can be seen on the royal mail label, but delayed by royal mail who have taken full responsibility for this.
The customer service representative then went on to ask you for the serial number so that the warehouse could investigate what exactly happened and match it up with the system once the warehouse returned on Monday.

You then became aggressive, stating that you wanted a refund a soon as it was received, to which Adrian replied that the refund will be processed once received and inspected which is standard ebay return procedure. You then proceeded to threaten us with a negative review.

Throughout the messages sent between you and Adrian on Ebay at no point was he rude, or aggressive. He even asked you to return the device straight away.

All items are checked by the warehouse prior to dispatch, so when you stated that the item was not sealed and cables were lose in the box it has to be investigated.

I would also like to point out that you opened a case in ebay stating that it was damaged in transit.

Being rude and aggressive to customer service representatives with threats of negative reviews will not make the company change the refund process. All returns have to be checked and inspected, including serial number match ups prior to any refund being issued.

I have also personally raised a complaint with ebay due to your abusive language and threats through ebay messages.

We will not be threatened by negative reviews, or threats with court action. All details have been passed onto ebay.

Astonishing service!

The service could not have been better!

It was a relatively small matter (£18) concerning missing parts of a Ninja Woodfire Electric BBQ.

On Saturday evening my problem was addressed immediately and the matter was concluded during office hours the next business day!

I am very grateful when I deal with companies of this calibre.

Ninja Airfryer purchase and return.

I purchased Ninja Airfryer at a great price from OPD, it arrived exactly a day later. Unfortunately, the copper colour did not 'go' with the 'bosses' kitchen colour scheme. That's what happens when you don't consult management on major decisions.....
I messaged OPD and they sent me a Fedex return label the next day, day 4 it was recollected by Fedex, and day 6 I had a full refund. What a great experience, this is how eBay should work but rarely does. Highly recommended.

AVOID THESE SCAMMERS LIKE THE PLAGUE!!! They are trading on Amazon.uk too. I bought an item from them for £337.00 which was defective from sale. They refused any responsibility for the return or refund and refused to help me. When i contacted them they were rude and unhelpful and have clearly stolen my money. Still ONE MONTH later i have not received a refund from them. Biggest scammers ever!!! I will be contacting Trading Standards and the small claims court in order to get refunded if this is not resolved.

***update*** OUTLET'S response below is utter lies!!! This is a legit claim for a defect item, bought from Amazon and the defect, via video call, has been clarified and accepted by Shark. I also contacted DPD today and i have a voice recording of them clarifying that Amazon arranged for the collection of the defect item and that it was delivered back to its original source on 22nd August. All the dates which OUTLET mention are wrong. Don't believe their response, they were useless and rude and their customer services are unprofessional. They have NEVER offered to contact me or to help me, all they ever did was pass the buck!!! Infact OUTLET even lied to me saying that Amazon had told them that it was "me" who arranged for the collection of the item and said it was never delivered. Actually both Amazon AND DPD have confirmed this item to be delivered, with proof. The fact that OUTLET are trying to threaten me with "We've reported this as fraud" is just hilarious since i have proof of everything. Sadly they're going to make themselves look really stupid but i think they've actually achieved that already. NEVER AGAIN!!!!

Good afternoon,

I have personally gone through your case.
This has now been passed onto the fraud team at both companies.

You first contacted us on the 6th of August stating you had a fault with your product, as with all shark products, the warranty would be directly with them if purchased through amazon. We advised you to contact shark with your order number to claim under your warranty. This would have to be done with the customer directly for troubleshooting reasons, as was explained to you.

We then didn't hear from you again until the 2nd of September, when you stated you had spoken to shark and returned the item already, as amazon had allegedly arranged a dpd collection. You provided a dpd collection card number.

When the warehouse contacted our dpd management team with your refernce number provided, they stated it was signed for by an Aiden (No one by that names works at OPD) and that it was not addressed to us, along with being delivered no where near our warehouse. The warehouse manager then proceeded to call amazon, who twice confirmed that at no point did they ever arrange a dpd collection on that order number and that no processed return was showing on their system.

We forwarded all this information onto you, even asking you to contact amazon to clarify the matter. You then began to get aggressive over messages, (Which we have forwarded onto amazon) and threatening to leave negative reviews on all platforms unless you received a refund the next day.

I have offered to contact you to discuss this over the phone numerous times and you have refused.

We suspect this is a fraudulent claim, which is now being treated as such.

Our fraud team at OPD work hard to identify and stamp out fraud and we will continue to do so.
