I was a little nervous. I looked up a hammock I wanted and it said used but pristine and it felt like this company came out of no where. And I don’t usually take the risk. But I did. I was so pleasantly surprised. It came faster than any of the other things i ordered on other sites. It truly was in mint condition. I had absolutely no issues. Love this. And I’ve already recommended to all of my family. Thank you so much.

This company posts generic photographs on their website and refuses to provide pictures of the actual item they are selling. When I contacted Out&BackDoor on February 5th 2025 for proper pictures if an item I was interested in, their Customer Service sent me a link to a sketchy website with a blurry photo. I would not conduct business with this company.

Ordered sunglasses 3 weeks ago. They charged my card immediately.

Good experience buying a pair of hiking boots from these folks. They had my size, the wear level was better than I expected. They emailed me warning there might be a seasonal delay in shipping, but the package arrived on time. I plan to purchase from Out & Back again.

Ordered women's cross-country ski boots. Sat back and waited. Two weeks went by and I emailed to see where my boots were. After several back and forth emails in which I was assured that my two-week old order was being processed, I suddenly received an email saying that my money was being refunded. WTH, I asked, and was told that they never had the boots I'd ordered. Two-weeks later?! Very disappointed in this shoddy company. Buyer beware!

Disappointed. Item didn't ship after 7 days and I called it quit and canceled. Not worth the time and effort to save few dollars on used products.

I bought some ski bindings that were on sale for Black Friday. A week later I received an email stating my purchase was going to be refunded with no explanation. Normally, this wouldn’t have been a huge deal, but I lost out on deals from other websites for the same product. It doesn’t appear to be an inventory issue since they’re still listed on their website. I don’t typically leave reviews, but the lack of communication and time/money wasted made shopping here a less than ideal. If there’s somewhere else selling the same product for around the same price, I’d recommend buying elsewhere.

Great prices on outdoor gear and friendly customer service! Took advantage of their Black Friday deal and loaded up on a bunch of ski gear for the coming season. I'll definitely be buying more gear from O&B in the future!

My shoes arrived exactly as described: pristine. Best price on the Internet AND they arrived within days of ordering.

Altra's new Olympus 6 shoe is sorta garbage (uncomfortable and badly made), so I'm buying up all the old model Olympus sneakers (in the Orchid color) in my size.

Quite incompetent. I ordered a tent, great condition and all but received a rainfly from a different tent that was way too small. I mistakenly did not set up the entire tent and it was then too late to return. They did not seem to have the rainfly that I needed, and so I had to find one myself and pay 180 for it. I received a 75 dollar Giftcard as compensation....ok. Then I used it to buy a new camping mat from Thermarest and received....a blue jacket. Yes...this is not a joke. Not sure that I would buy anything from this website unless you want a surprise package.

Ordered a pair of used Armada Locators. They were shipped promptly but on inspection there was a nasty core shot on one base. I reached out and spoke with Zach, sent him a picture and he responded with a couple of options to make it right, we agreed on one and all is well. Very conscientious customer service, as a result I will happily recommend them as well as shop with them again.

I recently purchased a high-end Silca frame pump for my cherished classic '80s Eddy Merkx road bicycle. The price at Out & Back was significantly less than any other sellers. Condition was advertised as "like new" and, in fact, it arrived (promptly and for free) in its original, unopened packaging. All around a great experience and I will return to Out & Back. Also a great way to reduce the waste associated with returned and lightly used outdoor gear.

Never received what I ordered. Was essentially told "tough luck" when I inquired.

I found the sleeping bag I was shopping for from Out&Back at an unbeatable price in their "Like New" condition. (Pristine condition, but missing original tags and packaging. Ready for its first adventure!) The deal was too good to pass up so I bought it. I didn't know much about Out&Back at the time but from the little bit of digging that I did they seemed legit. When the sleeping bag showed up it was the wrong one, disappointing, but I've worked in warehouses / fulfilment centers before and I know mistakes happen.

I contacted customer service and they hooked me up with a return label and issued a refund as soon as they got the incorrect bag back.

I gave them the benefit of the doubt and placed the same order again and they nailed it! I got the exact bag I was looking for for a fraction of the price anywhere else.

After doing some research it seems like they are a start up with some pretty legit VC Partners.
I'm not sure where / how they are sourcing all this gear but I will definitely be back for more.

as a seller, be very wary of this company.

It's currently August and I haven't been paid for items the company received in May. They say they are "working on it" and "please have patience." This isn't what I signed up for - they initially said I'd be paid within a few days of them receiving the items.

Ordering was very straightforward, and the item I received was even better than the merchandise "condition" description. So thrilled, because in this case I lost my sunglasses and the model was sold out on the manufacturer website. My only suggestion would be for there to be a chat feature or phone number, because getting answers to questions now requires emailing back and forth, which can be inefficient.

These people are 100% legit. They provide an awesome service. The store is super responsive and all 5 orders I've made so far have came in fine, in better condition than expected. If you're looking for awesome deals on outdoor gear this is the place.
