Oticon warranty isn't
I purchased a pair of Real 1 miniLite R on June 8, 2023.
In Aug or Sept, I began to have a problem with the right aid in that it would intermittently turn on and off.
I went back to the audiologist I purchased from who could not duplicate the problem.
I went again and the problem was acknowledged and I was told that the aid would be replaced. It was not. There was not one available.
I went again in Dec. or so and was told it would be repaired but no loaner was available. It was not repaired.
Returning to do business with that company is not going to happen. I will not be lied to.
On Mar. 11, 2024 I went to a different audiologist who repaired the mal-functioning aid at a cost of $100.00 which I paid.
This was paid when the repair should have been a warranty issue.
On Sept 4, 2024 the right aid quit functioning again.
I have spoken to 3 Oticon customer service (?) reps and each told me that any warranty repair/replacement would only be at the place of original purchase.
If I were to go to another audiologist, the repair/replacement would be at my expense.
How is that a warranty?
If you purchase a car in Ohio and move to Georgia and need a warranty repair, would you expect the car manufacturer to tell you to go back to Ohio where you bought it to get it fixed?
Oticon's warranty policy does not cover the product.
If you seek a good hearing aid, Oticon has some.
If you seek a company that stands behind their product-Oticon does not.
