They went above and beyond to help me. Turned out the issue wasn't with there product but a cracked door (making the noise) they watched a video of mine found my number and called me. A service you don't get very often. Ive bought many products from them which are great. But they didn't know that. Just the most helpful company. Helps that they also make some of the best products for Defenders. Thank you

Purchased the Rear wheel carrier for my Defender and must say I’m impressed with the quality, fitting was relatively easy on my own although an extra pair of hands would be ideal when offering it up to place bolts in crossmember but as said doable on ones own.

Can not recommend ORE highly enough,customer service is second to none . I invested in a spare wheel carrier which is an incredible product I installed it myself with no issues at all due to the very detailed instructions and it still looks brand new ! Trust me the powder coating is as good as it looks ! Thank you Chris for always going extra mile

After needing some spare parts for my wheel carrier I contact ORE to clarify they would fit (as advised on there website) and also if they could provide I part that wasn’t listed. I got 2 replies in over 3 week neither one answering the 2 questions I originally asked. (One reply asked for a order number, the other was a generic spare parts link!) Finally I got a email reply after making a Facebook comment (which got deleted by them) Chris told me the parts I wanted would fit and that he would add the other part to the list on the website. I’ve waited over 3 weeks yet again and it still hasn’t be made available!

I bought their wheel carrier having spent an age trying to decide which supplier to use.

This is solid as a rock, really well engineered and will probably last longer than the car. You really can sit on the wheel once the carrier is fitted without any flexing at all. The other things about this carrier is it can be fitted without drilling any holes in your 4x4.

I cannot recommend them enough.

Only had to contact once to check a couple of things and they took the call at 7pm this evening.

What more can I say !

Have made two purchases from ORE now and both times I had dumb questions that the team were more than happy to answer to help me install my new kit.
This time I bought two grilles, wing and side, and the snow cowl.
The quality is flawless and therefore I find the products very good value.
Everything you need to fit is included and the customer service response to my questions was quick and really useful.

Spoke on the phone regarding lead time on delivery of a roof tent, unfortunately this didn't fit with my plans but Chris offered to let me collect in person and even used the forklift to lift it onto the roof. He really went out of his way to accommodate me and I will be using ore4x4 for future purchases.

I’m giving ORE a well-deserved 5 stars for their exceptional service in resolving a technical issue with my online order. After experiencing some difficulties with my credit card payment while trying to purchase the ORE rear wheel carrier for my D90, I received a direct call early on a Saturday morning with a prompt solution. I’m thrilled to report that the wheel carrier is now on its way! I was genuinely impressed by how this small but mighty company went above and beyond to resolve my issue swiftly and efficiently.

Having the privilege of owning my 2014 Defender 90 for eight years, I have now come to the stage of wishing to slowly upgrade various ‘fixtures and fittings’.
After many hours of deliberation and research both on line and with fellow enthusiasts I have taken the opportunity of making an initial purchase with ORE by securing a superb cranked bumper and DRL’s.
The items arrived in a very timely fashion this morning and were found to be incredibly well wrapped and secure.
The bumper is a thing of joy! It is extremely well and made and beautifully powder coated. I cannot wait to have it installed.
Initial telephone contact with the company with regards to the order found Chris and the team to be extremely knowledgeable and helpful during the purchasing process.
I would not hesitate to use ORE again in the near future and can thoroughly recommend them without hesitation.

The ORE wheel carrier is a really good bit of kit. This is the second one we have bought and we know it stands the test of time. we have one for our 90 and now for our 110. When we bought the 110 we knew that changing the wheel carrier and getting an ORE one was a given. We had previously been aware of long wait times for the wheel carriers earlier in the year so I phoned and spoke with chris before I purchased. I am aware they make these to order in batches and there is a lead time for making. He was able to give me an accurate lead time till delivery. It actually came earlier than expected. Packaged well and shipped fast. I had great customer service from start to finish.

So, short version of the review:
Great quality product, very much fit for purpose, took too long for delivery. The score is based on quality of product only.

Longer version, with context:
I would like to start on the positives first. The reputation that ORE4x4 have for their engineered products is very well founded. I ordered the Spare wheel carrier for my Defender and I can honestly say that it's one of the best things I've fitted to my truck over the past couple of years. When it arrived the packaging was exceptional in terms of how safe the components were packaged up and after a bit of reading, the instructions are helpful and highlight key things to consider.

Fitting the kit, you can tell it's been made with care, it just fitted as you'd expect it to and with minimal effort tbh.

At the time of placing my order the website stipulated 3-4 weeks delivery, something that didn't change throughout the time I was waiting. After 5 weeks I chased up the delivery as I had heard nothing from the supplier. It took a further 3 weeks, 2 phone calls and an email to have any information from the supplier at all. Each time I was not reassured about delivery but instead advised that the supplier was moving premises and was having issues with it, something that to be honest shouldn't be the issue of any customer.

Would I order from ORE again in the future? Yes, I may well but this is purely based upon the quality of the goods ordered and not on the service that I personally experienced. Hopefully, this was just a blip which is why I based the 4/5 points of this review on the goods and not the service.

I purchased the excellent wheel carrier and I am extremely satisfied with it. Not only is the product of high quality, but the communication from the ORE team was also top-notch. They promptly answered all my questions and provided excellent customer service. Additionally, the packaging was done with great care, ensuring that the wheel carrier arrived in perfect condition.

The company and its products have a very good reputation. My experience has been very different

I ordered and paid for a wheel carrier on 7 February 2024. Lead times were stated as 4 to 6 weeks.

After no word for over 6 weeks I phone their office. No reply, I emailed, no reply, I phoned after a couple of days, no reply, I emailed, no reply, I sent a message over face book.

An email came back saying deliveries would be made according to timetable accompanying the order confirmation. That time had already passed and I emailed back saying so.

On 25 March they emailed saying orders were late due to ‘moving’ and ‘end of year stock take’, but they would assemble orders ‘this week’ and ‘shipping next week’.

At this time their web pages quoted 3 to 4 weeks delivery time scales. I waited a further two weeks and nothing happened.

On 8 April I sent another concerned email asking what was going on. Chris rang me. Excuses were moving and the mezzanine hadn’t arrived (?). My order was packed at the ‘other’ site and I would receive shipping details by end of next day.

Nothing arrived. I phoned a week later and talked to Chris over a poor mobile signal. He had no recollection of his previous promise to deliver the week before, he made excuses of moving and blaming DHL for some sort of problems. He didn’t have details of my order to hand and wasn’t concerned to deliver it.

He asked if I wanted a refund. Well yes since I don’t believe a company can last long with service like this and no stock to despatch, and I had already financed at least some of this ‘move’ with a wasted order and payment.

The refund is apparently on its way. As was the wheel carrier all those weeks ago!

The website still says 3 to 4 weeks, even though it said that all that time ago when mine was already too late, and my order did not even despatch within that time frame, after I first raised concerns.

I note that ORE was gazetted under section 1000 of the Companies Act (inactive company) during this March, the action to deregister the company was withdrawn later after the registrar finally received late accounts.

I hope the company soon recovers its mojo.

EDIT. ORE’s response below includes further untrue statements. I have not been phoned on a number of times nor out of hours at any time. I had a single phone call prior to this review, on 8 April at 08.37 when I was told the lie that my order was packed and would be sent next day. That did not happen. That was false, a lie. Following similar emailed lies as noted above.

Just a single phone call, not out of hours.

I called ORE on 15 April to ask where was my promised delivery. Chris was clear he did not have detatils to hand, he did not offer .to find out and call me back he bluntly asked ‘do you want a refund then’.

Chris did call me again, but only after the review was published, at 12.54 on 16 April. He was miffed and wanted to impress that I had been refunded. I stress that I have not received any money. An email does not equate to repayment and given other promises from Chris, by phone and email that have proven false (see above) I wait to see what happens. I will update this of course. He did apologise, in a way, as he does below, but given the crass, personal queries about my dealings with other companies which he leads his response with, I give it little credence.

When in a hole, stop digging. A company’s internal problems should never become problems for ones customers, and one should be proactive in dealing with customers, not lieing to them and then forgetting them until they become a real problem.

One should never attempt to ridicule a customer.

Management is planning and control and unfortunately this is not being well managed.

I finally received my monies (£743) back into my bank account on Monday 22 April 2024.

Chris at ORE is fantastic and so is his team. They make excellent products and customer service is top-notch. Great company.

I'm into 4th or 5th transaction with ORE now.

The products are second to none within the industry with innovative solutions to problems faced by other manufacturers within the UK. The key part here is in the UK as these parts are produced here in the UK.

The communication was excellent even throughout the problems faced by all manufacturers during the pandemic. The website states longer lead times and I was made aware during the time of purchase that the lead times would be 4 - 6 weeks. I was happy to wait for the quoted lead time and received my wheel carrier within the specified time.

Basically if you want a top quality product sometimes you have to support the business and sit out the lead times.

I don’t write reviews, everyone has a different experience and you should simply trust yourself to invest in products based upon your own research. But I wanted to share my experience and ensure people who do trust in the ORE 4x4 product, because ultimately it’s the product that matters, get a better service.

ORE4x4 make a fantastic product, I’ve bought the rear step, rear wheel carrier, bumper fixing kit, led reverse light and a light bar. Not the largest order or the cheapest, but as someone in manufacturing in the UK I’d be happy with such. I ordered in September and finally received the last part of the products 17th Jan.

The problem stemmed not from the owners, of whom I dealt with Chris, but the system in place to get orders out in a timely fashion and communicate accordingly. Which is where my experience was at its worse.

So, in review, absolutely great product, all the little details elevate what they do above the usually suspects in the Defender upgrade world. My experience was pretty poor, so much so I’d struggle to bring myself to continue to invest in the companies products, but truth be told if this means they ramp up customer communications and more people buy in then that’s a good result.

We should support British small businesses, especially in manufacturing when you’re up against the cheap knock off merchants…more so when they make such a quality item…but ORE, up your customer service game because your product is worthy of a bit more effort.
