OpusDNS is the registrar API we wish we'd had years ago

We run Articulation, a website builder with built-in e-commerce, and domains are the part of that business most customers judge us on. A registration that stalls or a transfer that goes sideways lands on
our support desk, not the registrar's. We moved our domain business onto OpusDNS in 2026, and it has been the quietest integration in our stack ever since.

What sold us was that the whole lifecycle lives behind one clean API. Availability checks and suggestions, pricing, registrant contacts, registration, inbound transfers with auth codes and status polling,
renewals and renewal mode, registrar lock, WHOIS privacy, DNS zones and records, even email forwarding. We didn't have to stitch together a registrar, a DNS host, and a forwarding provider and then explain
three different failure modes to customers.

Two things stand out in daily use. First, TLD requirements are exposed as data. When a registry needs extra registrant attributes or a legal consent, the API tells us what to collect, so our checkout asks
the right questions up front instead of failing after payment. Second, transfers just work. We pull the existing DNS records ahead of the transfer, replay them into the new zone the moment it lands, and the
customer's site never blinks. That flow was possible because the API is consistent and predictable end to end.

The result for us is domains that register and transfer without anyone at Articulation touching them, and a dashboard where customers manage everything themselves. If you're building a product that sells
domains rather than a registrar business, OpusDNS is the partner to build on.

Reliable domain management platform with a well-documented API

We manage domains for our direct customers and resellers. A few months ago, we integrated OpusDNS as our primary provider (with the exception of .ch and .li domains, which we handle directly via EPP). We are very satisfied with this decision.

The platform is user-friendly, and both the dashboard and the knowledge base provide all the necessary information. As a technical team, we especially appreciate the API, which is well-documented, fast, and has been running without any issues. This reliability has helped us streamline our workflows and reseller setups.

Overall, we are highly satisfied with the platform and can recommend OpusDNS to any business looking for a reliable domain management backend.

Great Platform!

The Dashboard is very intuitive and looks nice. The API works smoothly and having actual human support that knows their stuff makes managing large domain numbers waaaaay easier. Highly recommended!
