This company takes advantage of the elderly. My 77 year old mother went into a location to pay on her cable/internet bill and the agent signed her up for a mobile service without her knowledge. What makes it so bad is that they created the mobile account in her dead husband's name. Who had been deceased prior to. Now it's taking hours of calling and multiple transfers to different departments to get this resolved. Still not resolved as of today's date. If you have an elderly family member that has optimum look over their bills very closely. This was fraud but yet they will make you jump through a million hoops to get it rectified.

Optimum Mobile are all crooks...they signed up my elderly mother without her fully understanding what she was signing up for but reassured her with their promise of "cancel anytime " 5 hours on the phone several different customer service people from India later still they would not cancel ..instead said they would call back .. these people belong in jail for scamming people .
2nd time another 4 hrs on the phone and they said "we will not charge us for a year ", to which we said "" what do you not understand about we want to cancel !!!" they refuse to cancel ! Absolutely refuse . after 4 hours they said they would direct us to another dept. I lost it . HOW IS THIS LEGAL , we just want to cancel, and they will not let us!! .. we will have to take legal action. Optimum is the worst company I ever dealt with, I hope they get what they deserve! The customer service people from India laughed at the fact that they we not cooperating .. sadistic and evil people !

We finally have had enough with these thieves. Not only do they want to raise their price every few months, now when we cancelled our service they won't cancel until the billing cycle ends. My wife called to cancel the day before the billing cycle, but they said I had to cancel since my name was on the bill. They had no problem dealing with her every month when we had billing problems. I finally had the chance to call 4 days into the new billing cycle and was told I would be billed the entire month. Even though we no longer had any connection or equipment to connect to optimum. If I had of used a months’ worth of internet without paying, I'm sure they would have prosecuted me, but it seems to be alright when they are the thieves.
If anyone out there is thinking about signing up with optimum, don't do it. Just take your money and flush it. That will be better than dealing with these unethical dishonest thieves.

The service is 50% more expensive than Verizon Fios and has major reliability issues. Canceling can only be done on the phone is a hassle and takes at least 30 minutes including them making multiple counter-offers regardless of telling them you've made up your mind. They are a shady operation.

If there was a lower rate than a single star i would give it. I cant understand how they saty in business They constantly changed my pricing. It required 20 minutes to cancel Spoke with Fatema and suoervisor caroline. Repeatedly tried to fodffer dels to keep me. I repeatedly told them I would not keep optimum if free. They were rude and obnoxious.

I’m having terrible experience when I’m trying to disconnect my service, this lady named “J.D. Show” or some similar pronunciation is just a disaster, trying to play games and disappear during the call, trying to challenge our patience to give up.
We already requested stopping the service long time before with writtten record, this “J.D. Show” lady said she does not see in the system, and put us on hold multiple times and keep asking if we want to resume the service.
Terrible tricks playing games with customer and I will definitely never use optimum again.
This is happening in southern Connecticut area.

My experience with Optimum Mobile has been extremely disappointing.
I contacted Optimum and explained that I could not move forward with their mobile service because I was unable to cancel my existing service with AT&T. I was under the impression that my account had been canceled. Months later, I discovered that Optimum had continued charging me approximately $108 per month for a service I never used.
When I finally learned about the charges, I spent countless hours on the phone with Customer Service, Billing, and Escalations. Every department transferred me to someone else, yet no one was willing to take responsibility or provide a solution. The only response I repeatedly received was, "No refunds are allowed."
To make matters worse, I was forced to make an additional payment to prevent my account from being sent to collections and damaging my credit. As a customer, I expected transparency, accountability, and a genuine effort to resolve the issue. Instead, I was met with frustration, delays, and a complete lack of customer support.
I strongly encourage anyone considering Optimum Mobile to carefully monitor their account and keep detailed records of all communications. Based on my experience, resolving billing issues can be extremely difficult.
I am still seeking a fair resolution and refund for charges that should never have occurred.

I called today because they sent a text that an automatic withdrawal from my checking for 448.00, will be done. I told her that I did not authorize this and I will call the bank to stop the payment, I told her I had canceled all of the services except for the internet and never had phone services which they had charging me. I will call the bank and cancel the payment, I DID NOT Authorize!!!!! She said that I had called to cancel that it was during the billing cycle and could not cancel, no one told me that when I called to cancel. She was rattling off these numbers, and said, “get it?”. I told her what she was saying was that it was going to be taken from my checking account, even tho I kept telling her I did not authorize it. She said I can call back next month and ask for a refund!!!

FRAUD AND FORGERY
Scheduled service for between 8a-11a. Got a text that my service was completed IN MY HOME between 7:46a-9:17a and NOBODY EVER CAME TO MY HOUSE and the work order was "signed".
Called customer service and spoke with technician support manager Mazen (refused to give last name) and was told to look in my bank account to see if I was charged the $80. He refused to acknowledge the fraudulent "completed" workout. Then told me to go pick up the cable box myself. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, he said whoever I spoke with would tell me the same thing. This is the absolute worst experience I've ever had.

Quality of service was average with many disconnection issues with our smart TV and video games even at the highest wifi package. We changed our service from optimum to Verizon and already had the equipment in our home. We called to cancel optimum and I explained for pricing and service reasons (because you are forced to disclose to proceed in the conversation) and they were extremely aggressive in offers to have me stay as a client. For over 50 minutes I declined offers or got put on hold. Once at the point of "wrapping up" the call disconnected and the call back was a blank line. I had to call again for an additional 45 minutes, where they said they didn't have record of my last call- even with it being a recorded line- and made me go through the entire process with aggressive offers again. I adamantly explained I am not interested in continuing in any capacity and they continued to be aggressive in sales pitches. After confirming cancellation, they transferred me to a second department to "finalize" where a different representative tried to the the same thing. I will never return to optimum as a customer due to this cancellation practice.

I went in to address erroneous charges. I met Astonishingly bad customer service! No exaggeration here. The guy at the counter (Stillwater, Ok) flat out told me the bad reviews and poor customer service aren't his problem. He said he doesn't care and the ratings don't affect him.

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE COMPANY. THEY ARE THE MOST DISHONEST, RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY. I HAD TO GO THROUGH 3 CALLS JUST TO CANCEL MY SERVICE, AND THEY WILL GO TO ANY LENGTHS TO KEEP YOU OR BILL YOU WHEN YOU TELL THEM NO! THE FCC SHOULD INVESTIGATE. THEY ALSO OUTSOURCE THEIR CUSTOMER SUPPORT WHICH IS EVEN WORSE THAN THE COMPANY ITSELF.. GOOD RIDENCE MOFOS.. NEVER AGAIN..

I was moving houses and told them that I would be swapping providers. They told me they value my loyalty and would like to give me a deal so I would consider staying with them. In very coded words, they gave me an amazing deal using words that I clearly would not understand and said they would apply the deal once the service was installed. So today the service was installed, and they said, " Sorry, we don't offer that unless we join their mobile plan which I previously stated that I couldn't do due to outlasting bills I had with my provider, and the support team I was in contact with, Natalia, said that's okay, we can still provide you the deal before when i mentioned my situation. Now I'm here having to wait 4 more days so Xfinity can come and rip out this horrible internet provider and add their own with amazing deals. They use very sketchy and underhanded sales practices to deceive their customers. I wish I had seen this review page before deciding to stay with them. If you are reading this, please switch off this provider; do not keep them. Their upload speeds are horrible, even with wired connections at their max plan. This is one of the worst experiences I've ever had.

After decades of loyalty to this company, I've decided to move on.
I called to reduce my bill and requested internet-only service. The representative — who I believe was an AI agent, based on its unusual patience and scripted responses — repeatedly attempted to sell me cell service after I declined it multiple times.
I was then offered a package that included my existing channels plus additional ones, with an internet upgrade from 300 to 500 Mbps at a discounted rate.
I accepted this offer. At no point was cell service mentioned again, and I believed we were discussing an internet plan change.
The next day I learned I had been enrolled in a cell service plan and a phone was being shipped to me — something I had explicitly and repeatedly refused. I called to cancel, visited their office in person, and was told it was resolved.
The phone arrived anyway and I refused delivery. A week later I received a billing notice for the cell service. I was forced to place a stop payment.
This is a deceptive sales practice, whether carried out by a human or an AI system. The service was added to my account without my informed consent, my cancellation requests were ignored, and I was given false assurances that the issue was resolved.
I would strongly caution anyone dealing with this company’s sales process to get every detail of any offer in writing before agreeing to anything.

DO NOT EVEN TRY TO USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANY SERVICE! They are IMPOSSIBLE to deal with!
I signed up for internet service online for my new home last week. The same day my Son told me he signed us up for another company. So, I called back that afternoon to cancel. After talking to the worst customer service person that kept putting me on hold several times. I hung up and called back. This time I spoke got someone that could speak English. He told me he was unable to cancel because the equipment was sent out already and I would get it tomorrow. If I don’t want it, just send it back or drop it off at an Optimum store. That’s what I did the next day when I received it. The lady at the store said it would be taken care of. I called Optimum customer service the next day to cancel my account after I told them what I did. I was on the phone for 35 minutes going back and forth with him telling him to cancel my service and if he couldn’t, I wanted to talk to his manager. He said I had to wait 10 minutes. I did. I got a lady that kindly cancelled my service. I got a confirming email. To day I got a bill…I did not even connect my service! These people are NOT REASONABLE!
DO NOT PUT YOURSELF THROUGH EVEN TRYING THEIR SERVICE!

Worst experience of my life. The service was extremely poor. When I tried to close my account, they refused to provide the transfer PIN. After spending 2–3 hours on calls and escalating the issue, they finally released the transfer PIN.
I'd rather be without a phone than ever use Optimum Mobile again. I strongly do not recommend their mobile service.

What did not go wrong. I, the wife, originally had internet at our first home. This account was under my name. My husband and I purchased another home and he set up a new account under his name. One month later, I cancel the services that are in my name over the phone. Because that is the only option there is. The gentleman that assisted me convinced me (horrible mistake on my end) to put the services that my husband had already established into my name with the shiny promise of 3 months free for being a loyal customer. Well here comes the rollercoaster of endless confusion. I turned in the old box to the store so I am not charged equipment fees seeing I already have a shiny new equipment box at my new home with fabulous fiber internet flowing through the lines as we speak. We get up Saturday morning to no internet. Ugghhhhhhh. So we get on the phone with customer service at 8 am. Talk with Jayne for an hour. She can’t do anything for us but tell us that a technician is coming to service perfectly fine working internet and equipment. Why??? She sends us to Brittany in tech support. Brittany says you should have that internet working in 2 hours. Why does it take two hours to type a command into a computer to reconnect the perfectly working internet? I mean. Make it make sense. They have the authority to disconnect from whatever office but do not have the authority to reconnect. I’m sorry but, whaaat? So guess what happened two hours later? You guessed it. No internet. Back to calling customer service. Tech support again cause we have the golden ticket. A ticket number that is supposed to grant us the holy grail. Internet. (cue the angelic song). Weelllllllll…….. cut the angelic songs because NOW, we need to pay a bill that is not due until the 17th to possibly get internet reconnected by possibly Wednesday. Excuse me?? This is the best you can do in customer service?? I am too old to play the “how many people do I need to talk to” to get service once again. Let’s hope ATT can do better.

as bad as it gets. I woke up with no Internet, Well they cut it off when they were not supposed too. Upon calling them and getting multiple people to talk to me and get the run around they even admitted to me on the phone they lied to me, I am not even canceling the appointment. I am going to let him come to think he is going to fix or install whichever the screwup is and let him take the box and cancel the service. I have already called AT&T, they are getting me turned on faster than Optimum can fix their screwup.
