Liar salesman "PaPa" and Optimum refused to help – bill doubled

An Optimum salesman came to my house and lied straight to my face. He went by the name "PaPa," but given how he behaved, he probably lied about his name too. He told me I could get four cable boxes and internet for under $130 total. He pressured me to start service right away and install everything – all four TVs with cable boxes.

When I finally got my bill, it was $220 not under $130 like he promised. That's almost $100 more than what he told me.

When I called Optimum Customer Service after installation, they told me straight up that the price the salesman promised was not true and they could not honor it. I tried calling and texting "PaPa" to get him to fix what he promised. He told me he would call me back – and then he never did. He ignored my texts, ignored my calls, and never called me back. He completely ghosted me after lying to my face in my own home.

Optimum as a company should be ashamed. They sent a dishonest salesman to my door who lied about pricing, told me to install everything anyway, and then ignored me when the truth came out. And when I reached out to Optimum for help, they did nothing to make it right.

I have lost all trust in Optimum. Do not believe anything their door-to-door salespeople tell you – and don't expect the company to back it up either.

After being a optimum internet customer…

After being a optimum internet customer that always paid my bill on time and endured 5 years of poor service before finally getting fed up and canceling service after extreme pressure from the retention department, optimum decided to place a errorous charge of $192.00 for a mobile phone i never received or agreed to. Five years ago optimum reps tried unsuccessfully to sell me a bundle including a free phone which I never agreed to. Keep in mind, this was five years ago. I had no idea this still existed, I never received a bill or account or phone from optimum. Now,this charge has dragged down my excellent credit score. Shame on Optimum for seemingly trying to punish me for canceling by creating a fraudulent charge from five years ago to strong arm me into paying a collection agency $192.00 that I don't owe. I know optimum is struggling to keep customers due to poor service and incompetent workers but to stoop to this level is a new low even for optimum. I have filed a formal complaint with FCC to resolve this issue and have this charge completely and permanently removed.
Please stay away from optimum they don't know the meaning of integrity and honesty. How sad. Shame on optimum, I hope they go under. Horrible organization.

Optimum Mobile - Don't Do It!

Tried to transfer from T-Mobile to Optimum Mobile. Was a simple process to transfer from Verizon to T-Mobile 3 years ago, but Optimum is a different story. Because we were Optimum internet customers, they kept hounding us to get Optimum mobile. Got misinformation from both local reps in-store and Optimum customer svc on the phone. Price kept going higher as more and more fees were being added (not taxes - Optimum fees!). Had to spend 4 hours in the Optimum store while they figured out how to make transfer. They finally transferred the service from T-Mobile to Optimum and took our money and then told us the phones weren't available for 2 days. It's been 10 days, still no phones so we are going back to T-Mobile. If this is the customer service you get as a new customer, I don't want any part of it once I've signed a contract.
