Don’t use Opensea…. They delist an entire collection everyone paid for without explanation and they don’t accept consequences of their own actions👎 why should we pay Opensea fees for things they don’t deliver… 👎

They stole $1,700 from me.

They slowly take your money by telling you you have to first put in $350, then it will be $1000, then $3000. The first time I put the $350 I was short 33 cents so they asked for $350 more. Huge scam!

I am reluctant to post this.

I am reluctant to post this while they're still holding my money hostage but they're leaving me with no options. My introduction into ETH/Opensea/NFT has been anything but good. I went to Opensea because I had read many places that they are reputable, you tend to believe Business Insider and Forbes.

The first bit of this isn't necessarily their fault but they didn't do much to help with it either. I got my wallet, that was easy so I thought this was going to be a breeze. That was the end of easy.

I got my account with Opensea, I listed my NFT for a pre-arranged sale with a buyer. It should have all gone smoothly. It started with identity issues, my husband and I just started a new business and he opened the wallet. For whatever reason after 4 different wallets and getting locked out of his paypal because there were too many transactions from trying to purchase ETH.

You might wonder why we needed to purchase ETH. Well, when you're a new seller you have to pay the gas first. That isn't super clear but it was buried somewhere so I just took it as my own fault. I don't really want to put the amounts but it was a lot for us.

I ended up getting a wallet in my name, no problems. EXCEPT apparently a lot of credit cards don't like you buying any sort of crypto and kept denying it. To get the purchase done my husband sent money from his paypal (after getting it unlocked) to my paypal and I had to deposit it to my bank from there.

Days have passed at this point, 3 I believe but it might have been 2, I really lost track in all of this. In any event I had to do an ACH to purchase the ETH, it was supposed to take 2-5 days to become available to move, purchase, trade etc. It took 9.

Finally today it clears, I pay the gas hallelujah, the customer immediately goes to purchase it. We wait.... an hour later nothing so I email opensea, they respond and tell me I need to pay .8 in security commission because I left it selected.

I have no idea what they're talking about, I reply with basically that and google it in the meantime. I see some obscure setting, that looks totally harmless. It's on by default but they recommend leaving it on. On top of that NO where and I do mean no where is there a mention of fees for this and especially not anywhere near the option to turn it on and off.

I responded saying as much and basically I got 'tough' you have to pay it. Now I can't help but feel like I walked into some sort of scam (not accusing them of being a scam) in the very least it was deceptive and I was taken advantage of. I pulled a Karen and asked to speak to a manager, repeatedly and they completely ignored my request at one point they responded "This is the last step for you to get everything done just fix it okay" and "I understand your situation, but you have to do the needful" not sure what needful means but I am doing an exact quote. I can totally bring the receipts.

Where I am currently at, I told them flat out I wouldn't have agreed to fees I knowingly could not have paid upfront. They have my only means of paying them. I do not have that kind of money. And basically, they'll have to hold the money til whenever it is they're allowed to, there is nothing I can do but if I could I would just get it over with. They have the customer's money, my money, and the customer does not have the nft because the transaction is not complete.

Stay away, fishy

There are tons of complaints on stolen and lost collections on this platform. Opensea removed my collection with no reason. No chance to check what they do with it if someone is maybe selling my collection. That's about the misteriously lost and stolen NFTs. Stay away from this platform they screwed me and many others.

**Warning** do not trust Open Sea

**Warning** do not trust Open Sea, they gouge the customer, service is horrible! I paid the gas fee of $420, and then they wanted me to pay $17 more I said I would pay the $17 more the next business day and then they told me because. They said if I didn't pay it within 24 hours they will charge an additional $100 more for a delay fee of not paying $17. I told them them the banks are not open on a Saturday it's it's not a problem I'll pay it on the next business day which was Sunday where I live... The customer service was very very rude said if I didn't pay the $17 now or within 24 hours they will find me and charge me $100! he English that they speak is horrible they're probably Israelis or some other foreigners... I asked them to show me where it says that in the terms... Then the customer service got even more rude wouldn't show me where it says it in the terms they tried to go lower on the price and said then pay $85 these people are crooked they're gougers their liars they're rude do not do business with them don't let them rip you off shut them down.

I recently met opensea

I recently met opensea. I was relatively satisfied with this market place. As an artist, I liked the user interface of this site. The suggestion I can make to the team of this site is to work more on the security of this site. Of course, I had no experience in buying and selling until now and I only got ideas from NFTs.

This company has no customer service…

This company has no customer service and has a fraudulent and misleading appearance to create NFTs when in fact all they do is steal money by forcing you to accept a wallet - I tried to connect a"so called " wallet, but this website never worked.

Zero respect and support for creators

Zero respect and support for creators. They'd rather burn peoples livelihoods to the ground so they can add to their billions. Where's the incentive for new exciting ideas to get into the market and grow together? Or to support successful (or even struggling) creatives which would only be better for everyone involved? Nope. They're a bunch of 'elites' with no respect.

A company with no brain

There are things that are always broken and never seems to work correctly. Bugs that are there for more than 3 years still have not been fixed. Then they added in rarity rank, which is the dumbest thing any company can think off. Notice why people aren't buying, and collections keep dying? Because the rarity ranking tells buyers 99% of the listed items are all crap, and buyers aren't buying these low ranking crap, so every collection listed on opensea dies quickly because there's no activity and volumes.

Avoid OS: Check NFT display casts from platforms other than OS

Found out the hard way, OS had disabled my NFT. Long dialogue to find out this was the case with a display unit company & then OS itself:
- OS allege breach of Terms of Service but won’t say how
- I had an issue with my NFT which might (who knows!) have caused it to be disabled by OS in the first place but explained how and why that happened to no avail (it was not malicious & I certainly didn’t intend to violate anyone’s Terms of Service)
- they refuse to escalate to senior people or compliance and won’t reconsider
- now can’t cast my NFT to a display unit which can only cast if the NFT is visible on OS

- they don’t care, they’re a brick wall that just repeats the same mantra over & over again ie they don’t take away your NFT & it’s still visible elsewhere (I know but that’s not the point)
Avoid OS & especially check any NFT display unit you get can cast from platforms other than OS. They are the sort of platform that gives NFTs a bad wrap & the reputation it’s all too hard for your average Joe. You can violate a Term of Service unwittingly & be punished for it forever without recourse & they don’t care. It’s tough luck for you

Opensea has been a pleasure to work…

Opensea has been a pleasure to work with so far. I checked on here trust pilot and there's a lot of negative reviews. My main concern was the fees, but I think you can make adjustments so it's not effecting what you take away from the website. So I have thought I would write a review to let everyone know its not as bad as some people are making it sound. You could check my artwork out if you like by searching for me on opensea, search for Art_bits or Cataluna C.
