Very disappointed
Very disappointed with their refusal to pay out on my claim. Our cat had minor problem with tartar a year ago. We didn't think it was bad enough to have her teeth cleaned at that time. A year later we had it done as she needed two teeth removed. They refused to pay as it was over three months since it was first mentioned. If we'd had her teeth cleaned last year we would have had to go through it again this time. Not happy with the outcome.

We wanted to clarify our dental cover to help explain the outcome. Under our policy terms, dental treatment is included as long as your pet has had a dental check every 12 months, and you’ve followed any vet advice within 3 months of it being given. In this case, because the vet noted a tartar issue a year ago and treatment wasn’t carried out within the 3-month window, we unfortunately weren’t able to approve the claim.
Dental issues can progress quickly if left untreated, which is why the policy includes that 3-month follow-up requirement. If you’d like to go over the decision in more detail, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our team at claims@onlypawspetinsurance.co.uk. We’re here to help.

This insurance company will do absolutely anything not to pay your claim,put a claim in for our cat who went for her annual injections to cover her for the cattery that she goes to when we go on holiday.When there the Vet noticed she had lost quite a bit of weight,tests were performed and found she had a problem with her liver.Phoned Only paws to see if we'd be covered for these tests and was told yes we were(even though we'd only been with this insurance company for 1 week,because we'd had insurance with another company for 14 years and proof of payments were given,without ever claiming for her).As soon as we put the claim in(after paying the vets bill of £700 Only Paws turned down our claim because they say she was showing symptoms 6 months before!!!The Vetenarian practice have wrote to them explaining that she has never been treated for this condition before or that there was a need to.We're not Vets so how on earth are we supposed to know when our cat needs treatment without the vets telling us??? Regarding this company I'd avoid at all costs,not worth insuring your pets as they will find any excuse not to pay up!!!😡 Absolute rubbish response from you,a cat or dog can lose weight or vomit anytme for any condition,how can you determine that it was the illness that it's been diagnosed with??

Thank you for your feedback. Just to clarify, pet insurance policies typically do not cover pre-existing conditions, which are defined as any signs, symptoms, or medical issues that were present before the start of the policy, even if they had not been formally diagnosed.
In this case, although we appreciate the history of previous insurance cover and the letter provided by your veterinary practice, if there is any indication in the clinical records of symptoms (like weight loss, abnormal blood results or vomiting) prior to the policy starting, this would be classed as a pre-existing condition under the terms of the policy as it was the onset of the condition. If the policyholder would like to discuss this matter further, they’re very welcome to get in touch with us directly at info@onlypawspetinsurance.co.uk.

Dumping Tesco pet Insurance
After trying unsuccessfully to renew my policy with Tesco due to what appears to be problems with their system and failing to actually speak to a person I had a check around and for an extra £23pa I got a much better level of cover. lets hope you live up to my expectations
