Not sure where to start but I can’t stop laughing about the fact that a serious recall is effecting my one week old GT that only has 13 miles (what luck) and the company that is such a hard ass about parts and against user replaceable component sales now is asking me to wait not use my $2200 investment and they will eventually Send me a foot pad with Do-It-yourself instructions … these guys are most definitely jokers and now this company should be closed down, after many suits for their stupidity
Wow this is for real
The product this team puts out is so much fun even better it's a company that stands by their product and are apleasure to work with. I look forward to many miles and many smiles in the future good job team.
The Worst Customer Service
The Worst Customer Service
My board has been a “lemon” since day one. Issues and more issues. First my power button didn’t work properly. I had to press it twice each time to get it to turn on. They use template responses and say, “the diagnostics look fine but if you want to send it in, we can look at but if we find no issue, you have to pay for shipping plus parts and labor.” I sent the board in. They then send emails that they received the board and that it’s being looked at. Then you get an email that it’s being shipped back to you. No other information!! How about telling me if you found something wrong? And what was wrong? And what you did to fix it? Nothing. Highly suspicious. I ask these questions and get very nebulous answers. The best I got was “ Your battery circuit board was not allowing the board to power on consistently.” I get the board back. The problem is fixed. But now there’s a slew of other problems:
- When charging, I no longer get a notification that the board is fully charged from the app
- When charging, the charger no longer changes color from red to green when the board is fully charged.
Next, about 6 months later, I notice a significant drop in power and torque. The board just can’t make it up hills. I video the problem. I send the board in and again they me tell that if they don’t find a problem, I have to pay for shipping and parts and labor.
And this time, they just try to gaslight me. They say “the diagnostics are fine.”
Me: Cool but what about the fact that the board can no longer carry me up a hill?
Future Motion: The diagnostics are fine. Me: What about the video I sent in that shows the board is dipping forward in either direction I ride it? Could the gyro be off?
Future Motion: The diagnostics are fine. Me: Can you try and ride it and see for yourselves?
Future Motion; We did and we don’t see anything wrong? We can you send a video of someone riding it up a hill so you can see it working?
Me: Sure.
Me (2 weeks later): Where’s the video?
Future Motion: We did the test with a rider going up a 10% grade and with a section that had a 14% grade. Here is a screenshot of the app while we were riding it and here are two pdf’s that show a map of where we rode your Onewheel.
Me: Cool but where’s the video? And when you offered to make a video, I requested the rider be about 6’ and 200lbs like me and to go up a steep grade. How big was the rider? Can you go up a steeper grade?
FutureMotion: (No response)
Me: 😩 (out $2500+ and no board)
Do not give this company your money.
Wrong address
I accidentally inputed the wrong address for shipping but they were able to get my Onewheel shipped within a week (didn’t have to pay for shipping again)!
Worst Company to Do Business With
I honestly doubt there is a worse company to do business with. They have little or no regard for their customers. If they didn't have such a cool product, they would have gone out of business years ago. Can you imagine they discontinued their flagship #1 selling product (XR) before their were ready to ship its replacement (GT which is a piece of garbage). They crap all over their dealers to the point where their own dealers ALL hate doing business with them and talk trash about them. Some company that understands how to build customer and dealer relationships should buy them and watch the product really blow-up. Their Management is the WORST!!
Customer service is terrible
Customer service is terrible, they take ages to respond. You can't make a deal with them because they won't honor that deal. They send copy paste mails when you have issues as soon as they find out you're from EU.

Bought a brand new board from an authorized dealer shop, but got an issue with connecting to the charger. The dealer doesn't allow me to exchange and I have to contact onewheel by myself, which they never respond.
So... Don't buy it unless you can unpack and check it from the store.

Customer service is terrible, they take days to get back to you.
Their boards aren’t user repairable, I would like to replace my own battery.
Many products are know to come defective out of the box.
Do not support this company!
- Horrible warranty policy
- Invests in anti-right-to-repair practices
- Will not sell replacement parts for your device
- Takes legal action against 3rd party parts producers
- Has horrible communication with the community around their products.
- The latest product (GT) is a safety risk, and FM has sent no notice to consumers
- Only one service centre world wide
- Engineered certain parts to fail (maghandle)
- Continuously fails to meet shipping deadlines
I do not reccomend buying from this company. I was initially happy with my purchase, but now my device needs repairs, and I am left hanging.
Company is very anti repair
Company is very anti repair, won't even sell replacement parts like most other electric skateboard manufacture's. Customer support is horrible, won't address issues with problematic hardware. Won't be buying another OneWheel again.
Run!
Run! Run as far away for this company, you won't find a company that is so anti customer friendly eventho their product is good.
Riding up a hill with more then 18% elevation voids your warranty, changing grip tape on the footpads voids warranty and a lot more brainless BS like this.
New GT boards ghosting or customes receiving boards dead on arrival.
Someone is going to get hurt soon.
Buy something else with you money and at least get a decent customer service.

Wish I read these reviews before I purchased my Pint. Used it a handful of times but haven't used it for months. Plugged it in for 6 hours but the unit won't come on. Reached out to FM's website and supplied the serial number and described the issue. 9 days later but still no response. Didn't respond to my message on social either. After reading these reviews and looking at my own experience, I don't think their business model accounts for repairs. A $500-$800 repair doesn't make sense for a $1,100 device. They must expect customers to purchase new Onewheels. :(

They make great products when they actually work but the customer service is horrible and they are one the worse and most hated company I know.
FFM.
Even 1 star is way too much if we…
Even 1 star is way too much if we evaluate the company by itself. Expensive board company trying to act like Apple but it is way worse (even Apple has right2repair ambitions now, not FM tho). THERE IS ONLY 1 GOOD THING ABOUT THIS COMPANY: The ønewheel as a product. Everything else is just about lying, suing, faking, and misleading. FM sucks.
So disappointing what Future Motion has been doing..
I got into Onewheels about a year ago, and I love it. Awesome boards, amazing community, it’s just so much fun.
What I’ve come to learn though is that Future Motion (company behind Onewheels) doesn’t believe that consumers own the products they purchase. So over the years, starting with later versions of the XR, then Pint and PintX, and finally the GT, they have been implementing software that blocks the customers (or anyone except Future Motion’s single repair center in CA) from being able to fix or replace some components. This includes the computer, the BMS, and the battery.
Most egregiously, in the GT, Future Motion implemented a “kill switch” in the board to where if you ever unplug the battery - the board locks itself and shows an error that the board must go in for service. There is no way around this except to ship the board, on your own dime, back to them where they will fix the error and ship it back to you.
This is wasteful (shipping cost, fuel, money for repairs) and isn’t even something that is needed. It was never present on any of their other Onewheels and no one ever had an issue.
For that reason, I will no longer be supporting this company and I don’t think you should either, unless you want to spend upwards of $3000 for a product that once the battery dies in a few years, they won’t allow you to replace it yourself. It’s not rocket science, two connectors and you’re back up and running on their older boards. Very disappointed in where Future Motion is headed.
For alternatives, look into UEC, electric longboards, scooters, e-bikes, and VESC. Plenty of other options out there that are actually consumer and repair friendly :)
Just Terrible
They dont allow a simple thig as a battery swap. Think about it, battery, the thing that breaks the most of the times.
Absolutely terrible.
They have turned into a scumbag company…
Can't believe what a garbage company Future Motion has turned into. Worse than Apple has ever been. Trying to sue small businesses over _baseless_ "safety" claims (lies) and preventing any of us customers from repairing or upgrading our own boards. Literally if you even unplug the battery on the new board, IT BRICKS THE BOARD! And you then have to send it all the way back to Future Motion - not simply an authorized repair center or anything like that since they don't allow that... You have to actually ship it to them.
I used to love this company. Now... I hate this company more than any other company. Selling all of my One Wheels and will never buy one again (unless a competitor arises, in which case I would buy theirs). The boards themselves are good but what the company is doing is just unbelievable. Just going to go with EUC's for the time being.
Garbage, scumbag company. I hope you rot for what you're doing.
They want me to send my OneWheel all…
They want me to send my OneWheel all the way back to the US from Spain to replace the battery? No way. Screw you, Future Motion.
They're locking down their products…
They're locking down their products that WE OWN so that we can't repair them ourselves. They only have one repair center in the USA and none internationally, yet simply unplugging the battery, even if you don't replace it, will FORCE you to have to send the product back. Stay away, I can't believe these plebs are worse than Apple.
